I know what you mean that SP offers so many resources it can seem overwhelming. Just start slowly and you will be fine. A good starting point is using the nutrition and fitness trackers (under the orange tabs). Then, you can slowly introduce yourself to the information under the other orange tabs. Hang in there! I can guarantee you will be glad you did.

Hi all, Newbie here. I too have OA, I have had it since I was 15 years old. I was diagnosed with RA 12 years ago and Fibro last year. My body seems to have a mind of it's own. I guess we all have our crosses to bear. I am working close with a new doctor who is really great. I try only to take pain meds at night so I am not in a fog during the day. I have under gone many knee surgeries due to a surgery a doctor had done that was botched up badly. I was on a wound vac for over a year. He really did an injustice to me. Needless to say he's not practicing medicine any longer. I have so much scar tissue and I have a cut muscle in my left calf and one in my left thigh. I just started walking without any aid in 2013 after being on crutches, walker or wheelchair for 4 years. I can't tell you how blessed I feel. I'm not walking far but plan to change that soon. I hold no ill feelings for the doctor I just hope he hasn't hurt anyone else.
My cup is always half full and I try to always find blessings in painful and difficult situations. I have no idea what I would do if I wasn't this way. I am walking today and I didn't think I would ever again. I am hoping to gain more strength and endurance with hard work when I am having good days. I'm so glad I stumbled on SparkPeople while surfing the net. I look forward to learning more so that I have a better quality of life. Not to mention I need to loose weight so my knees aren't carrying the extra weight. I know it's going to be hard work as I am no spring chicken. I am a Grandmother of a beautiful 3 year old Granddaughter. I am also a Proud Mom of a Fantastic Sailor and Husband. I also am a "Mom" to 5 awesome dogs and a beautiful bird.
I hope to be a more active member of SparkPeople as soon as I can navigate this site. Lots of good info here. I do feel a bit overwhelmed but I'm sure it will get easier, I hope.
