I have ra and oa both knees need joint replacement surgery os has consented to do one knee at a time I am on waiting list for TKR on left knee I was first told I was to young for the surgery knees are both bone on none have four pip joints fused two on each hand I am only 46
But you're so young. I hear that often. I'm 28. I had Lyme disease about a year ago and it triggered all sorts of things, Fibromyalgia, CFS, and of course Inflammatory Arthritis. Bone Scan showed it in my feet, knees, hips, shoulders, and my lower back. Fun right? My hands bug me the most though when the weather changes. I try not to dwell, but sometimes it's hard. I work full time as a Preschool Teacher Assistant as you can guess, that alone is pretty trying on the body, but it keeps me from thinking about the pain. I'm currently taking Sulfadiazine (sp?) for the inflammation, (hopefully it'll kick in sooner than the expected 2 months), Cymbalta for the depression and Fibro, and Klonopin to help with the sleep. Oh yeah, I have a Kindergartener too, and a husband who I think just may be 5 yo also, lol. Nevertheless, I'm here, I have to lose about 75 pounds to help my joints and can use all the help I can get, because I just don't think I can hold the tears in any longer.
