And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.

Hi, Kat. Welcome back to SparkPeople. I'm so glad you've joined us. It sounds like you live in a lovely place. I am so glad that you have family who are there for you when you need them. That is very important. Having God in your life is wonderful. He is amazing. I look forward to getting to know you better.

I live in Reno, Nevada and totally love this place. It has grown to much, but we are surrounded by mountain, are 4500 feet, a high desert, Lake Tahoe is about 20 minutes, Virginia City, with all its old time gold rush places, a little longer drive due to the road. The weather is perfect and people friendly.
I am 61 years old, almost 62 (Jan.21), married to Dave for 34 years, have 2 daughters, 1 son, 4 grand-children, 5 cats, and 1 tiny dog. The cats are 4 from one litter and 1 uncle!
I found out that I have Hepatitis C, am now in stage4, in 2008. At that time, I was already on Sparks and used it as a social site, mostly. Being here saved my sanity. I went from never sick, an incredible recovering body, to a SICK person and I did not like it. The people I met here were awesome, we laughed, made jokes about all of it, cried and a few of them, I became very close to and am still involved, outside of Sparks, with.
When I discovered the virus, I had cirrhosis already and went down-hill, to me, fast. The liver doc said that was the way this virus works. It is smart and hides in the organ that tries to heal itself and takes a long time to actually show it's work. The liver is so important to your body's health, with 101 things it does, and now, in liver failure, every 6 months at blood check and ultra-sound, there are new things wrong. I figure that if I stop doing the blood work, then I won't get anything else!!!! lol and just joking.
So, I came back to Sparks, because if you use it right, this place WORKS AND IS GREAT.
Life, to me, is precious and not to be wasted in denial, depression, anger, hiding behind closed doors and complaining. I try to find, every morning when I first pull myself out of bed, something positive, something to be glad to be alive, start the day. I want to be part of the solution. I have an awesome doctor, who cares and listens to me. We are a team. My son lives with us and he is my backbone. He helps me when I am throwing up, cold washcloth, drink of cool water, he makes sure I take my meds everyday, exercise and laugh. I thank God for him, always. My cats are my warm fuzzies, my close friends are my strengths. God is first in my life, He is my Rock.
Now my book is done. I am glad to meet all of you who are also reaching for the starts, traveling the Sparks, get er done road. Waiting for laughs, cries, learning, teaching, sharing.
Good night Sparkers
