I agree losing weight would put less pressure on my knees, but the trick is LOSING the weight. I seem to yoyo and I know I need to keep motivated to lose the weight. This website has really helped me with the support. It is all about making the right choices. Bev

Hi, I have had both my knees replaced and I am slowly getting my life back on track. I found the pain was easier once I lost some weight.

I am taking OSTEO Bi-Flex, advanced. Two tablets every morning. Ginger and calcium tablets too. Getting some help, and trying to get out of bed and waiting a few min before walking.

I like to get out the stability ball and stretch out on that in the morning. It really helps my back and hips to loosen up.

HI EVERYONE!

It occurred to me that we all have morning pain/stiffness - and I'd be interested in hearing how we deal with it.....every morning. I'll bet we can all learn some coping mechanisms if we share routines.....

Thanks.!

Welcome, it will help some but you may still have tough mornings, I sure do. So glad you're here!

Hi and Welcome! emoticon

My knees are extremely bad - and I take strong meds for lots of different types of pain.

In the mornings - when I get out of bed and my knees are so stiff.....I find that if I just stand up and stand still for about 15 seconds and then slowly start walking ..... it helps a lot to diminish the pain.

Good to meet you,

Welcome Bevie! Have you tried TART cherry juice? My husband uses this and he has osteo and rheumatoid arthritis. He says it helps quite a bit. He takes about 4 oz a day.

It will hellp. I have lost about 100 pounds and my knees still get stiff but the aches and pain are almost gone, I no longer take any painkillers for it.
