Start with one thing at a time, and be patient. Write yourself a Starter List of things you want to do, or you want to make happen. Then write numbers at the side of the list - that's the order you're going to work them. Give yourself 4 weeks or 30 days for the item you have chosen to be 1st. Use a calendar to help you. Yes, write on it "8 cups of water" or "10 minutes walking" or whatever. Write the activity on every day. Then use a big red pen, or pink marker, and tick through it every day you achieve the goal. You have to remember - you didn't get into this state overnight, it happened slowly day by day. So the only way to change is equally slowly, one day at a time.

Start small! Take one thing and do it for 30 days (they say after 30 days it becomes a habit). You can do all kind of things like drink 8 cups of water a day or track your food each day or exericse. What ever you want to do is okay. But deside on it and then go for it. Tracking food is good because then you can see what you are eating and when so that you can learn how to change the bad habits into good ones.
Another thing is to pick and team and get active! There are other out there that have probably gone through what you are and can give advice on how they master the problem.
I don't know - I had lost 5-6 pounds when I started in fall, but have put them back on plus 4 :( My job is totally sitting all day and that has not helped. I'm frustrated and discouraged, too...We had our 20th anniversary this weekend and the slide show of the past 20 years was so fun, but so hard to watch me put on the 70 pounds over time. I lost 33 about 2 years ago, but have put 9 back on and can't seem to act to get them off. I eat healthy, but then the snacks kill me. Lots of sugar at work...I know this isn't helping...but it does feel good to share my own frustrations...hypnosis was very helpful for me but that person moved...I'll follow this chat to see if anyone else can be more helpful :)
Looking for help losing some weight, I have been a member for two years, just not done anything about it yet!! Need to know if someone out there is in the same boat as I am? I know I NEED to do this, just not sure how to get started! I do have two others in the house that could benefit from eating healthy and losing some weight as well.
