Thanks for the info on the shots. I'm not sure whether I need the shots or surgery, but I'm going to have to do something soon because I've been in so darn much pain with my left knee for the last few weeks. Now if only I didn't have to wait a month to see my primary care doctor...
There was much rejoicing!

Hi, the shots have helped. Not perfect, but they did stop the piercing pain for a while. I still enjoy my ice bag on the knee at the end of almost every day. The Doc says that I probably should expect another series in December when the weather gets colder and damper. Oh Joy!
I can walk up and downstairs like an adult now, not doing the toddler two-step. Forget about kneeling down. I don't have to use my cane to walk around the block now or around the grocery store. That's a big improvement. I try to do seated leg lifts while I am trapped at my desk during the day. This helps too.
Would I do the series of shots again? yes, I think so. But I understand that the relief is not as great the second time around. I will have to see if the weight loss is as helpful as it is proported to be and then think seriously about knee replacement. Doc says I'm too young- 63 in Aug. No one has said that to me in a very long time.
But I see the Doc in another 5 weeks. I just want to get through vacation in September without lots of pain. However the thought of 5 hours in a plane is just grim.
It's so funny......I got home a couple of hours ago from MY last Supartz injection. Now both knees of mine have had 5 injections each. I have found that it's helped a great deal.....not perfect.....but the killer pain I had in both knees is much diminished.
How about you? Are you getting relief? How bad are your knees? Just looking to compare notes.
Nice to meet you. Libby
