Just a quick note to tell you that I have taken Plaquinal and I didn't have any problems. I was closely monitered too. Unfortunately it did not work for me. If you read most meds have scary side effects just make sure the doctor moniters your blood closely and watch for side effects so you can stop it fast. Good Luck to you

Hi! And welcome to the team!
I am sure you will get lot of feedback on any questions you might have. I have not taken that drug and with all it's side effects I hope it is one I don't have to start.

Welcome to the team.
Paleo/Primal here too....makes so much of a difference.
I have a sensitive stomach and couldn't handle Plaquenil, but take Doxycycline for my RA. My doc has been great in not wanting me on the "normal" meds....although he does remind me each visit they are available.
Plaquenil is an anti-malarial, and of course has side effects, but I believe a lot better than suppressing the immune system. One theory for a cause of AI diseases is that it is actually a low grade infection. The doxy is working well for me.
