Margi I feel the place you are at now. A year ago I lost my daughter, during her hospital stay of 30 days in jan, 2010 and her passing away Feb, 2010 I went trough the same thing I gained 35 lbs during this time and thought oh well, but in Dec 2010 I started over and have lost most of the lbs I gained, take small steps and be and in dew time you will see a difference.. good luck and we are here for you.

margi, i so understand how hard it is to stay on track when all the stress of spending time at the hospital or traaveling there. the most of 2011 i have been spending at the hospital with my sister for her son, and then taking my sister to dr appointments and hospital when she fell and broke her shoulder. there is still some time at the hospital with her son, he is doing a little better but still in hospital. finally hopefully linda's shoulder is on the mend. and think the dr. appointments is almost over. and like you, i have decided that i need my time where i get to work out and feel good about it. best of luck and i know that you will be back on track

My dad was hospitalized for what turned out to be a gangrenous gall bladder. At 85, his heart didn't handle the anesthesia well (it was a 5 hour surgery). He was int he hospital for 3 and a half weeks, then in a nursing home for therapy for a week. Now he is home and doing great. The problem is...I went from doing great with my eating and exercising 2 - 3 times a day, to exercising once a day if I was lucky and eating junk on the way to or from the hospital. I had a goal when I started this in early February to shed 20 lbs by the time I turned 40 (April 29)... I lost 10 in the first three weeks, and now I keep seeing a fluctuation of 3 lbs either way on the scale.... I am totally motivated, now that I have SOME of my time back (now both kids are sick and I'm missing work...), but I need the consistency back, and to be mindful of what I am eating and when.
Thanks for reading...I'm just super frustrated with my lack of progress.
