I would say 9. I know what I need to do I jusst don't always do it. I have been somewhat maintaining for about 6 months.

2. Where are you from? Originally from Rochester, NY. Grew up in Jacksonville, FL. Currently reside in Columbia, SC.

4. I work in Human Resources for a gun manufacturer. I'm currently pursuing a degree in Psychology to go along with my Bachelor's in Business. I also have a loving husband that I love to spend time with.
5. I have been making plans and bailing on them for the last 3 years. It's time to just jump right in and follow through with promises that I've made myself.
6. 10 - I'm all in! Forget the past!
7. My main motivator just got pregnant so she switched goals. So, SP will work just as well.

3. Any children? Two, a girl 6 and a boy 2.

4. I work full time as a case manager for the severely mentally ill, and my husband is a stay at home dad. I just applied to go back to school to get my doctorate. I also try to fit in quality family time.

5. I need to stay motivated. I think I just need support and to know I am not alone.

6. I would say an eight. I used to just want to be skinny but now my health motivates me as well. I have high cholesterol and blood pressure.

7. I think the buddy system works better but have no natural weight loss buddies. Hence, Sparkpeople.

8. Goals: Lose weight, Lower blood pressure and cholesterol. Feel better.

5) How can we help you maintain your health? support, advice and encouragement, help me find motivation when I am lagging! (especially when school starts and soccer and graduate classes are in full force as well!)

Hello team! It's nice to meet you all! Looks like I'll be a new team leader here soon so here's a little about me.

4) How busy are you: work, school, family, travel, etc? Right now I am a chiropractor's assistant, I'll start nursing school in August and I'm going to try to get my personal training certification but I make time for the things that matter like friends, family and of course Spark!

Hi all,

Thanks in advance for your support. I will offer my support to all of you, as I know how difficult of a road this is...

1) What's your name? Sabina

4) How busy are you: work, school, family, travel, etc? Lots of work and some how always other things that need to be done ... paperwork, cleaning etc...not sure how people with kids do it on top of everything. :-)

5) How can we help you maintain your health during the holidays and during your busy schedule?
Luckily there are no holidays right now. However, summer is a tough one .. so many tempting things to that would interfere with a weightloss schedule. I take it one day at a time. I work extra hard during the week and if will allow some treats for the weekend, as long as the math still works and the calorie differential does not go into the positive for any day. I am dedicated but try to be realistic.

I find the biggest challenge to get motivated to work out. While working out I quite enjoy it and usually extend the session beyond what was planned. However, the getting going is tough. So, I am looking for motivation by joining challenges and committing to specific goals to other people. The reporting of my nutrition and fitness activity and to do it openly in this group will hold me accountable.

6) On a scale of 1-10 how determined are you to lose weight? 10!

9) Do you like to lose weight alone or with a buddy? If with a buddy try our Hold the Chocolate Buddy Finder. Alone is fine

10) What are your goals? 150 pounds by the time we go to Mexico for my friend's wedding around October 6. I don't remember being less than 157 pounds. Has been over decade at least. Hence, I will re-evaulate at that time if I want to lose more and need to set another goal.

4) How busy are you: work, school, family, travel, etc? Pretty busy these days and will be adding school again come Spring. I have work, gym, hula, relationship and home life. Sometimes finding enough time in the day gets hard but I'm learning to juggle all of that and remember that I come first. It's important because I feel better when I've worked on me for the day! :)

5) How can we help you maintain your health during the holidays and your busy schedule?

I like the mini challenges you have although I haven't signed up for it yet, I will after this survey. It will help me add mini personal challenges for me to attain.

6) On a scale of 1-10 how determined are you to maintain or lose weight over the holiday? 10 I know I won't reach my goal weight because I'm being realistic but I'd like to be able to continue down this wonderful path of healthier eating and more workouts!

7) Normally how much weight do you gain after the holidays? Probably 10 lbs but its hard to tell I stopped getting on the scale for a while there.

8) Any New Year's resolutions? Are you gonna practice them ahead of time or wait until after New Years 2011?

My resolution is to get moving. I joined a gym and suprisingly have been to the gym more times than I ever thought. I've also tried the cardio kickboxing, turbo kickboxing, zumba, group strength trainng, yoga and even swam in the pool. That's the most I've done at any gym!!! And I've had many many memberships that I've paid for but never used. This is my year~! I'm determined!

9) Do you like to lose weight alone or with a buddy? I like both actually. Alone means I'm challenging myself and my bad habits. Winning on that level reminds me that I'm stronger than I think I am sometimes. Working out with a buddy helps to make working out more fun! And when it's fun you like to do it more. So a lot of the classes I take at the gym are with a friend. And we enjoy going too! It just makes it that more enjoyable when you know you have someone who you aren't afraid to look goofy with when you don't know the steps in the class. Laughing is good medicine!


10) What are your monthly goals (food, mind, body) for March, April, May?

Well sinice I'm coming in at the tail end of March, my goals were to limit alcohol and fast food for the month and write down everything I was eating. I started on March 8th. It's amazing when you write your food down how little you want to eat the next meal. I've done great on all those goals for March!

April I'm kicking it into high gear and really pushing the working out to 5 days a week. I'm at 4 right now so what's an extra day right?

May I'll be making sure I am still tracking my food and I think I'll start by learning how to swim. I know how to swim but not for exercise. So it would be nice to finally learn how to do more than the breast stroke :)

Weekend we have the kids, so there is not a whole lot going on then.

Last year, I had a miscarriage the week of Thanksgiving and gained about 10 pounds during the holidays - that never came off as I used it as an excuse. Typically, I don't gain much or if I do, I lose it quickly. I always eat a lot, so the holidays are really no different :O

8) Any New Year's resolutions? Are you gonna practice them ahead of time or wait until after New Years 2011? Every year I make the same one - to be more organized. It starts with filling out the new year calendar. I last about one week. I'm sure I'll do the same thing this year...

I've been meaning to answer up on these questions for days, forgive me for being so slow to post.

1) What's your name? Renee

2) Where are you from? Originally from Philadelphia, but I've lived all over the world.

4) How busy are you: work, school, family, travel, etc? I keep busy with my family, our new home and my new job. I am currently looking at Masters programs trying to determine which school will be the best fit for my next degree.

6) On a scale of 1-10 how determined are you to maintain or lose weight over the holiday? 12! I have decided that turning my life around isn't just a holiday goal, it's a lifetime goal. Challenges such as these keep me focused.

7) Normally how much weight do you gain after the holidays? To be honest I've never noticed. I never paid enough attention to what I put on, just took it as par for the course. This year has been different, I am moving more, I started my healthy eating nearly a year ago and I am more cognizant at the pot lucks and gatherings I go to in as far as what I am putting in my mouth.

8) Any New Year's resolutions? Are you gonna practice them ahead of time or wait until after New Years 2011? I don't have a resolution, or I should say it's not new for the NEW Year, I am currently a work in progress therefore that is my resolution all the way through, to keep working on me.

I go by Dinane. It's not my given name, but it's what my sister calls me and I kinda like it.

2) Where are you from?

Not yet. I do have an adorable Siberian kitty cat, though. His name is Mimic.

4) How busy are you: work, school, family, travel, etc?
I suppose moderately. I spend a lot of my free time working on my house. I'm an avid DIYer. The holidays usually mean I fill up my social calendar, though. Which can be mighty stressful. I will be traveling for Christmas, but having Thanksgiving at my house.

I mostly need to be held accountable. So I will report in!

15? I'm kind of an over-achiever. I don't want to just maintain, or lose a little weight. I want to keep going at my current pace. I'm very serious about that.

I used to not weigh myself. But my personal trainer tells me the US average is 13 pounds, and I'd believe that or more.

I don't really do resolutions. I change when I can and am ready to. I do have a New Years goal weight, but I think I'll keep it to myself for right now.

I already have a buddy, really. My sister-in-law and I both work with the same trainer at our gym.

Starting this week my goal is to run 4 days a week instead of 3. I have weight goals for the end of November and December that I've worked out with my personal trainer. I will be wearing a very pretty dress for a fancy New Years Eve party this year, and I will rock it. And my real overarching goal is to not screw up. I've come so far, and there's no reason I can't keep going.

I'm a full-time student, so I'm pretty busy most of the time, but around the holidays I'm off and have to keep myself from snacking out of boredom.

I'm not sure exactly, until recently I've been avoiding the scale for years! But probably at least 5 pounds.

Food goals - to not overdo on any food type - moderation in all things
