Hi everyone...new to the group but very excited to be a part of it!

completed my C25K program on September 8, 2013 and ran my first official 5k race on September 15, 2013. My time was 29 minutes exactly and I placed 9th in my age/gender group! Not bad for a first timer.

So here I am pushing forward to challenge myself even more! Started the B210K Monday September 23, 2013 and already registered for my 10k race on November 23, 2013.

Completed C25K November 2011.
Did NOTHING in 2012 - Family issues.
Started again 2013, stalled out over the summer.
Now that the heat is peaking, I'm at it again. Finished the C25K (second time around) and now I'm trying not to stall out on the 10K programs.

Haven't done any official/timed events, but aiming high!

I am training to do my second 10K. I did the first one 2 years ago and have just been doing 5Ks for awhile. I am hoping to complete a 1/2 marathon this year as well.

I did C25K & finished a few weeks ago. I started B210K this week. I love it, but man - my legs are feeling it!!! Good luck!

Hi! Just joined today and I am so excited! I ran a 5k(my first) March 3rd at 40:04 but I didn't do the c25k program. I'm hoping the ease into 10k will help me quicken my pace and I'm aiming for a 1/2 marathon in December. I look forward to see how much better I will do!

Hello ya'll!

5k graduate, have run a 10k before but only on a whim and not the way I wanted to. Running a good 10k is a 2012 goal of mine and eventually a half-marathon. I like to run but want running to be FUN again.

Good Morning,

I'm a relative new runner. I completed the SparkPeople 5K training this fall and want to be able to run a 10K. I have been running 2.5 - 4 miles three times a week for over a month.

Hi All,

I am a C25K grad and this week I will be finishing an 8-week 8K training program. I was nervous about working up to the 10K so I tried the 8K first. I wish I had known about this program before, I loved C25K so hopefully this will work for me too!

Good luck to everyone!

Hi, my name is Carole, and I'm from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I'm 45 years old. I graduated C25K in May 2010 and I have been running 5k distances since.

I kept telling myself that I want to run 10k but never found a programm that felt confortable to me to follow. I'm a very slow runner, my PR for a 5k is 37:28 min. So all the programm I found were based on x min per km and I wasn't even close to those times.

Anyhow, I ran/walked 10ks twice already but I will definitely try the b210k! I want to be able to run the whole thing.

Hi everyone I'm Paula. I did Couch 2 5K this May/June and maintained running 5K three days a week this summer. Now that fall is here so I needed a new challenge. I just started Bridge to 10K at the end of last week.

I'm also planning on running with some friends on New Year's Eve in the Central Park Run at Midnight.

Hi everyone,

My name is Natasha and I have been with SP since Dec 2010. I live in Trinidad and Tobago but I am a Canadian her with my husband and son. I started the walk/jog in March of this year and that ease me into running again. I found out about the c25k program and decided to complete it. I did and my first 5k in June time 36:08 I was really happy.

I officially became hooked after that. I have been training all summer, and running for personal goals and did another 5k last week came in 33;36 (Breast Cancer). Lately I have been running up hills around my neighbourhood and that is awesome.

I decided October I will start the 10k training and decided to join a team for the support and questions I may have. I sign up Dec 10 2011 for my first 10k.

I hope to chat more with guys

Hi! I finished the C25K program a couple weeks ago and today I finished week 2 of the B210K.
I live in Germany - I don't have a treadmill, so run outside - no matter the weather. I have come home with frost in my hair after a run. Not that that is ideal by any means, but I did it.
I never ran in my life before and am now 49 years old, so I look at this as a huge accomplishment, even though I am a very slow runner.
My first 5K (official) is in 2 weeks in Berlin - an Avon run raising money for breast cancer. I never thought I would run in a race let alone train to accomplish a 10K.

In CHRIST I can!

I enjoy running outside so much more than on the treadmill. It's still pretty cold here as well but I did get to do my 5 miles today outside (it was supposed to be 10 but I'm still getting over a terrible sinus infection- blah!). Granted, I had several layers on and never even warmed up enough to take off my outer sweatshirt!

Thanks so much! I actually just returned from the gym a few minutes ago having completed week 5 day 1. It's still a bit too cold for me to go outside right now, but I hope that soon I'll be doing that. I do think "freeing" is a word actually and it is a great way to describe how you feel. I love the feeling of satisfaction that I have once I am completed with a run. It definitely makes me know that I can do a lot more!emoticon

Hi and welcome! Isn't it freeing? I don't know if that's a word but I really am speechless when it comes to describing exactly how running makes me feel :) I'm still getting over a horrible sinus infection so my miles lately have been low, but I'm still trying to get out there as much as possible (which is probably why I'm still sick, LOL!). Anyways, just wanted to give you a warm welcome :)

Hey guys! I'm new to the group and just started the B210K last week. I ran my first (and second) 5K last year and plan to do a 10K on my birthday this year, May 7. I'm very happy to find this group! Thanks for setting it up.

Hello All-
I completed C25K in 2009, and have run vairous 5k races over the last 18 months. My longest distance is 4 miles. Just can't seem to push myself to that next level. Hoping this program will help. I need structure -- a plan to follow. Want to do a 10k this April with a friend.

I am a recent graduate from the couch 2 5k program. I Did a turkey trot in November. I am giving myself 5 months to train for my first 10k. Which is more then enough time to do this program and improve on my speed. I am currently on week 3 day 1 and really love the structure! The Ipod app helps alot too!

Hi I'm Amy. Thanks for creating this team. I finished c25k and ran 3 5ks so far, but really want to keep improving. I'm also a slow runner - my best time was 37:35. I need to get started with this, but temps here aren't supposed to get above 20 this week. I'm really struggling with motivating myself to run in this cold weather. Ugh. Hoping this team will help with that motivation! :)

Helloooooo Mariean, Samaara and Pam!!

Welcome to the team and pardon my delay in greeting you!

I hope you find the support you need here - the B210K program is really great. I finished it last month and was super psyched with the progress it helped me make. I actually ran 10K this morning for the first time ever! It took me an hour and 8 minutes, but hey - I did it! :)

Welcome again and please don't hesitate to get in touch any time with questions.

Happy running friends!!! :) :) :)

Hi, Team! I'm Pam. I finished C25K the week before last, and need a new challenge. I'll start B210K today. I'm a slow runner. I've done two unofficial 5ks and both took me a little over 37 minutes. I want to increase my speed, but am hoping that will occur naturally as I keep running.

Never, never, never give up.

Hey- so glad to have you here.
I think I am going to rest my running for 1 week. I am sore at my ankles and hamstrings and I want to start the program from a place of strength. Not to mention get rid of the cold which has settled in my throat -ugh...

Keep me posted on when you start, maybe we can do it together?

Welcome to the team. Don't worry, you don't have to run fast. I think speed comes with time. I finished C25K on Saturday and started B210K today. I think you'll be ready for a 10k in May.

Hello! I am very thankful to find this team. I am currently doing the C25K and have finished week 9 day 1 so I hope to be able to finish it this week and dive right into training for a 10K.
I have never run a formal 5K but am hoping to run a 10K in May in Berlin. There aren't many races that I find here.
I am a very slow runner and so far have run only 4K and that took me 35 minutes. But I never thought I would ever run, let alone like it!

hi everyone I m Joanne and I just completed c25k and ran my first 5k in 33.05 yesterday. Am trying to see if I really enjoy running and so I am going to try this and see if the additional time makes me feel better as a runner or if I want to stay with the shorter stuff.

HI! I just finished C25k last week and started right into the B210k on Sunday. I knew if I didn't find something to advance into, I would lose the momentum. I run my first 5k on Saturday and hope to progress up to a 10k by February. I am so excited Laura told me about this group!

Hey everyone! I sort of did the C25K program a year or two ago. Since then I've run a bunch of 5Ks. I finally took the leap and registered for a 10K on Thanksgiving morning. I'm worried about nothing having enough time to train -- mostly that it's very hard for me to get a full hour or more of running per workout in my schedule -- but I'm very excited!

Hi All! Thanks to PRAYDANCERUNLOVE (Chelle) for letting me know about this new team! Just where I need to be after graduating C25k in September and finishing my first 5k last week!

I have another 5k scheduled for Halloween! "Run thru Hell" (Hell, MI) on Halloween; and a Turkey trot in November!

I'm getting worried with the days getting shorter of not having enough time to fit in the training schedule, but I'm going to do my best. (I live in the boonies, commute 2 hours a day and have no treadmill). I will try my darndest to run this winter whenever I can! It may be slow going, but I'm going to give this B210K a shot!

I look forward to getting to know everyone on the team!!!

Greetings All!

I graduated from the C25K about 4 weeks ago. I took a week to run some practice 5k's on the treadmill and then I jumped right into the B210K. I am currently finishing up week 2 and loving it! I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and sharing our victories!

Welcome Alofa and Doug!

I also can never seem to get going in the morning. I tend to run at night, just before dark.

I'm in the process of moving so I'm hoping to change up my routine once we get settled in. I really want to become a morning person :)

Again, wishing a warm welcome to the both of you! Happy running!

Good morning,

I finished c25k in June, ran 5ks in July, September, and one on Saturday. I was looking for something to do after c25k and had read about b25k, so I downloaded the iPhone app but hadn't really used it. I set a goal for myself of running a local half marathon in December and began training for it, including long runs of 7 miles.

Long story short: I just didn't feel I had enough mileage in my legs to do a good job. So I came back to b25k. Love the length but am having trouble fitting in the program before work during the week. Guess I just need to get out the door as I'm up early enough.

I'm here hoping to revive the mojo I experienced in c25k. G;ad to have found this team!

Doug

Hello! Hopped over from the C25K team. I finished back in August, and have run a 5K, 2 mile race, and this past Saturday did a 5 mile race. The 5 miler was NOT pretty, I ended up needing to walk .5-.75 miles. Finish time was 1:06:28 or a 13:20 minute mile. I was NOT prepared as my longest run prior had only been 3.5 miles.

So my goal is to take it back a step and work on training for a 10K, so I am fully prepared for next time!

Luckydogfarm - I actually live in the middle of nowhere and the nearest decent sized city is an hour away. So it's harder for me to find races, but thanks for the link. Maybe if I'm near a decent city I'll check out the link to see if there'll be any races.

I finished C25K a few weeks ago and was getting started on one hour runner, but didn't really like how it was set out (no intervals). Then I got a cold and the past 2 weeks I haven't run much so I think getting going on this will both ease me back into running and get me running longer.

There's a 5K race that's supposed to be Thanksgiving morning but I haven't heard details on it yet. Probably closer to the date they'll start having information in the local paper.

Yay! Glad to have you here!
I am in the same boat - no big rush, but finished the C25K program and said, "Now what?"

emoticon for creating this team, this is just what I needed! Funny, yesterday I was browsing through the teams looking for support for training for a 10k, and now here it is! It's like magic!!
Anyways thanks, I finished the C25k program at the beginning of September and ran my entire first 5k in 44 minutes on Sept. 5. I run really slowly, but at least I run! I would like to pick up my pace a bit too. I am signed up for a second 5k in one month, November 6.
I would like to run a 10k next summer. I am in no rush, I just want to train and have a goal. Now I do, thanks to this new team!!

Hi, I'm Judy. I just ran my second 5k yesterday.

I tend to ease into things very slowly -- trained about a year for my first 5k! Running definitely doesn't come naturally to me.

I did C25K, but couldn't run a 5k at the end of it ... but just kept at it. I can be stubborn that way.

Currently living in NY, after 17 years in Austin, TX -- altho I grew up in NY not too far from where we live now.

I had already decided to try a 10k next year -- still looking around for the right race -- and hadn't heard anything about B210K, so I'm excited!

Running the US one state & HM at a time & hoping to raise money for good causes at the same time

no, nothing like that. just trusting our team mates and their clock reading abilities! it all started because one of the gals said she was going to run her first 5k, but didn't have family there to support her, so we all are running with her in spirit!

Oh how cool! That sounds like so much fun! Do you use Endomondo or one of those type of apps to check everyone's distance/time, etc.. ?

i will be running a 5k race Sunday at 4pm central. it is a challenge for one of the other groups i am in. should be fun. and, it is the same route i will run for my 10k training. it will be a virtual race. several of us around the US are running, all at the same time, but in our own towns.

Welcome ladies!
I think it will be great to start this new challenge together, since we are all new to the Bridge to 10K program. It's good to have some support along the way. I have my first day tomorrow morning, so I'll let you know how it goes!

Laura,
Hi, from one Jersey girl to another! I ran the Newark Soles for Faith 5k today, and will graduate from C25k this week Wedensday (yea, I did things a little backward). I've been looking for the right next step, and believe this is it. Can't wait to learn from everyone.

Grace and peace,
Chelle

Hi, I'm Laura and I'm finishing up week 9 of C25k. One of my friends (JKDUBS) told me about the Bridge to 10k program and I couldn't believe there wasn't already a team for this program. So now there is!
