I have had my BodyBuggSP for about a year now and have lost and kept off around 20 lbs, I just started Crossfit last week so I don't have a lot of stats yet on the typical burns for class.

Happy to have found this group, looking forward to getting into crossfit

Okay so I've been missing, I know. But! I have been working out and keeping track of my burns. On average I burn between 350-500 calories at the box, and my rest rate goes through the roof for about 3 hours afterward. Hooray anareobic Exercise!!! Will post more details later, hard to type on the nook lol

I used my heart rate monitor today to give me calories used. I have no idea how accurate it is, but the calories burned is really high. We did an intense warm up followed by a strength of 3 3 3 backsquats (max backsquat was 115) followed by:
20 squats
20 wall balls (rxed at 14 lbs)
20 kettlebell swings (16 kg)
My time was eleven minutes and thirty three seconds. For the ten minutes before and half hour after the WOD I burned almost 1000 calories. %or those of you who want some sort of comapison I am 5'7 and weigh around 190.

That is a phenomenal calorie burn for a 15 minute workout, Lissie! I will be interested to see how your various workouts compare. Keep posting the results!

That's pretty awesome! Us shorties are at a definite disadvantage. At 5' and 120 lbs, I burn maybe 400 calories for a 45 minute hard pumpin' bootcamp class. Last half-marathon I did I burned 1100 calories for a 2 hour run at 90% max HR. With an active, physical job, and moderate to heavy exercise, I see a daily average of 2200-2400 cals. My RMR is anywhere from 1200-1450 depending on the source. The afterburn is way better from a weight workout than a cardio one, but both can add up. Enjoy learning how you burn!

So I got it last night, I couldn't register it, jumped through hoops and finally got it working like twenty seconds before I left to hit up the box. I quick slapped it on and ran out the door. I arrived at crossfit at around 11, I wore the bugg the whole WOD.

Today's WOD
15 Minute AMRAP

1 deadlift at 75%
5 pull-ups
10 Push-ups

16rds For me
Now because of my shoulder I didn't do 75%, I did 155lbs, taking it easy to avoid pain. I did my pull ups on the ring, and the push ups on my knees (again to avoid further injury). I warmed up with 1000 meter row, and then the workout started a few minutes later. For my fifteen minute workout (more like 20 with the warm up) I burned 389 calories. (WOOT WOOT!) But over the next two hours my metabolic rate kept racing and even at rest I was burning a good amount of calories. It is now three, and my resting rate has returned to normal. Between 11 and 2 I burned a total of 779 calories, but after 12, I was pretty much at rest. I find that astonishing, and inspiring. Yay!

I bought mine because I am a fool for numbers, and gadgets. Seeing how active (or lazy) I am being will inspire me to move more. I get mine today, whoo hoo!!! I checked ups and they say it is on the truck for delivery. So tomorrow will be my first day wearing it!! Whoo hoo!!! Orchid, I got the budybuggsp so that I can check up on everything throughout the day on my iPhone. So I will know right after my WOD what kind of activity I put in.

I didn't buy the bugg either.
My trainer says we can work with out it.
I am game...I log my food and that is enough for me too.

I don't have a a bodybugg, but my husband does and loves it. One thing he does that is a little different - he started plugging both the bugg and his food into the tracking system several times a day rather than just one time at the end of the day. He found he was better able to keep track of his calories in and calories burned, and could then adjust either accordingly. If he was behind in calories, he knew he could afford to eat a little more. If he needed to burn a few more calories, he could take a walk, get on the treadmill etc. He has had it for about a year and it really has helped him.

If you are using a bodybugg and want to share your results and support this is the forum.
"LISSIEONE COMMENTS"
I am getting the bodybuggsp, and I am going to start a thread on here and post my WOD and the amount of calories I burned that day (the bugg is 90% accurate) so that everyone can get an idea of what I am burning. Take into consideration my weight (270's atm) and height (5'6") when you look at it. Also I am going to post how long my body burns extra (crossfit workouts do your body good for a few hours after you are done), just because I think it will be neat to know. I hope that helps everyone out!!
