I just joined today after a friend told me about her success here. I was browsing through the teams and was excited when I saw the Caregiver Support team. It seems I have been a caregiver to someone for several years. But now its full time. My dear husband had a Major Heart attack followed by all his systems closing down and he had to have intestine resection. We were home from the hospital 2 days when he had a Massive Stroke. He has come a very long way. To most, he would probably seem he is 100% back, but if you know anything about stroke, the survivors are never 100%. Some days he seems just fine. We are so blessed that he can walk and talk again and take care of his persona needs. But there are days when the confusion sets in. Days when he cant express himself well. Days when he is just plain angry. I never know who he will be from day to day. Lately he has been putting a lot of pressure on me. It seems I can do nothing right in his eyes anymore.
Having a support team that understands the extra strain of being a care giver will be a great asset in helping me toward weight loss and healthier life for both of us.
Its not just about being able to sing in the rain, Its having the ability to Dance in the Storm.
