Hi, I'm fairly new to Sparks. I officially joined at the end of July but have been adding new habits slowly. We just finished the first week of classes this past week and so I suppose I'm ready to be a little more active.
I have a very full life. I have a full-time job. I have a five-year old son who just started kindergarten and a nineteen-year old who's staring his sophomore year in college. I am a caregiver for my husband who has been on full disabilty for 7 years and lives with symptoms of daily pain and fatigue.
I've struggled with my weight (a) all my adult life, (b) for the past 19 years, (c) for the past 7 years, (d) all of the above. The answer is "D" But I recently realized that I am the person who sets the agenda in my household and I can arrange my schedule and habits to address my health. So that is my goal: to do a little self-care in the form of good nutrition, walking, and some weight loss.
I'll appreciate the chance to chat with others and get some good advice along the journey.
