Welcome to the group GRAMMADI4, Maybe if you start small by doing little bits more and increasing as you get comfortable with it it will not seem like such a hurdle. Walking extra is free so see if you can find someone to go for walks with you maybe your hubby. Then you can think of it more as a form of physical therapy for him and that makes you look forward to it more. I hope this helps you.

Gl;ad you stopped by to introduce yourself, GRAMMADI4!
My brain is still waking up, so not sure I can be of much help yet this morning!
The only things I can think of to say at the moment (again, my brain isn't completely awake yet), is maybe just write a list of why you want to loose weight. Not necessarily goals, just why you want to do it. I know that helps me.
And, I don't know why I feel the need to say this, but remember that motivation is often temporary. There have been many days I haven't had much motivation, but still just did the best I could that day.
I Will keep thinking about this :).
Anywho, if you ever want to, you'd be welcome to come chat with us on our main chat thread. Here's the link:

Hi there - I joined this site many months ago, but hadn't introduced myself. I am just shy of my 50th birthday, living with my husband of over 30 years, who is currently disabled (but hopefully only temporarily) from leukemia. Our son and his 2 boys live with us also (past 10 months) - my son is dealing with physical disability too - hopefully only temporary. I work and was just given notice that our company is closing and I will be out of work within months. I am the major breadwinner, my son is on assistance & my husband is self-employed but currently only working very minimal. My question to this Team is how do I get motivated - I have been on a weight loss roller coaster since I was 15 and have lost 60 plus pounds on 3 occasions - only to gain it back plus more each time. I usually used Weight Watchers, but I don't believe in it any more. I am currently the heaviest I have ever been in my life and don't like it. But at the same time, it feels like I am wearing my comfort zone, all the extra padding around me. I would like to be fit and lose weight for my health but can't seem to get started. My husband has gained weight since his diagnosis and if I lose weight he will also - which would be a good thing. I used to be fairly active, but am too busy lately and the classes I belonged to became too costly. I found a weight loss/wellness coach professional who would work with me individually for $500., but I'm afraid of wasting the money. I checked into Big Loser too, but I seem to be stuck in the precontemplative stage. How do I get the kick in the butt that I need? P.S. I'm old hand at this game and have already tried the goal settings - visualization, etc. and know everything I need to know about nutrition and portion control.
I don't want pity or sympathy about how much I am doing or about the situation, because as other caregivers know this is, for better or worse, what I have to deal with right now. What I need is help to find inspiration to begin moving forward to a healthier me.
Thanks emoticon

I just happened upon this team by chance.I work in the assisted living field. When my shift is over I care for a 77 year old in the last stages of Alzheimers. Then I go home to live in the house of a81 year old man I began caring for 10 years ago. We moved him back to Georgia and he asked if we would move in and care for him.I have been here for 6 years now.He too is starting to have Alzheimers.
