I don't know if this is good advice or bad advice but when I am really in need of chocolate, I eat UNREAL candy bars. They're *supposed* to not have all the chemical/additive stuff. Sure it contains sugar & chocolate - but sometimes that's what I need. They carry it at CVS. Google it.

I use to not like the dark chocolate, but now I love it. I like to get the organic 70% and eat just a little when I have that chocolate craving because I LOVE-LOVE chocolate. I let it slowly melt on the tongue (sometimes emoticon ) to save the flavor.

I make my own chocolate bars tinyurl.com/cs528ae
but I'm just found some natural cacao powder (rather than my norm, which is Trader Joe's dutched cocoa powder) -- there's a slightly different spelling there (cacao nibs being ground versus whatever magic 'dutching' is to make it cocoa powder).

I'm nervous ;p Hopefully, it'll still work cos I got 2lb of it ordered on bulk.

I recently found a really good high cocoa content, stone ground dark chocolate at trader joes in my city. it is round and separates into little wedges. kind of a fun shape. I eat a wedge a day as a treat. as long as I'm eating a good balance of (good) fats carbs and proteins it never spikes a craving ( or my insulin levels) and the wedge is just enough to,satisfy me! sooo good

I love eating healthy, whole foods too, but chocolate is also my downfall. What seems to work for me is to buy a good quality bar of dark chocolate and have a square or two a day... keeps the cravings away and I tell myself once the bar is gone that's it until the next grocery trip (I go 1x a week), so I'm usually more motivated to make it last.

One thing I have found to help me is Blue Diamond oven roasted almonds. (dark choc flavored)
I figure it's mostly an almond-they aren't like chocolate covered peanuts that have as much chocolate as the nut ha.
I have even dampened plain almonds and dipped them in cocoa (I'm sure this is healthier)

I have been craving chocolate for the past few days. I really do not like dark chocolate but I would even go for a small bite of that right now!

Same thing for me. I eat great, except for way too much chocolate. There is no substitute that works for me. I only eat good quality dark chocolate and sometimes I limit how much comes into the house. (I should do that more than I do!) Good luck. Let me know if you find a cure. :)

Dark chocolate is good and healthy for you, about one ounce a day will keep the doctor away.

Thanks for the tips ladies! Chocolate is my downfall. I do fine as long as i stay away but if I have some it only makes me crave more and then i have to break the cycle. that alone should make me stay away from it.

I also use unsweetened dark chocolate. I mix my cocoa powder with vanilla and soy milk for some hot chocolate. My significant other buys me the 99% dark chocolate. Upon a rare occasion I will have 1 or 2 squares. Satisfies the cravings with just a bit.
