So sorry I haven't dropped by here for so long! Thanks much to YICHE12 for faithfully leading this team. I've been doing so-so myself - I lost a bunch when I first joined and gained much of it back, but I have started losing again. My next step is to get back to consistency with my water and my walking while trying to work my way back into tracking. I'm not trying to do it all at once like I was before - I know I'll fail if I try to take it all back on at once and get myself discouraged.

Good luck to the rest of my class!

I know that life can be hectic from time to time, especially so when you still have children at home. However, you need some YOU time also. Don't make the same mistake so many of us do when we have responsibilities -- neglecting ourselves. After a while, we start to believe that we are not worth it when it is totally wrong. You go girl, emoticon

If you need help at any given time, drop me a line. I know the site very well and can help you along. emoticon

Hello All,
I feel like I have been half half with Spark People. It is hard to believe I have been coming for a year but have not made any significant changes in my weight. Like many others who have already posted, I have lost and gained back and am back where I was when I started last year. I do the food tracker sometimes, but not regularly. I am much more fit, though, as I have done lots of exercise and am proud of that. I am a 43 year old mother of 2 and my current weight is 184. I would like to lose and maintain a loss. I'll take a 10 pound goal for the year... I don't want to be too optimistic!
I am going to explore the site a bit more and try to individualize my page if I can figure it out. Sometimes I get overwhelmed by how much there is to explore on this site, then I can't find it again when I want to go back... I am also overwhelmed when I see that 2,543 people have joined this or that... maybe I need it to be more personal. I see that this group has dwindled to a personal size, so maybe this is where I will fit... if I can remember to come back. I have clicked the button to email me if anyone responds to this, so that is a step in the right direction.
Congratulations to those above who have lost weight in the last year. I envy you.
Cheers!
Belly

Wow! I can't believe it has been a year already. And what a year it has been filled with lots of ups and downs, health issues and a few family crisis thrown in. After all that I'm only down about 7.5 pounds from last year, which is better that gaining. But I need lots of support and motivation in the new year. Hopefully next year will be a much better year for healthy weight loss! Time to get serious!!!!

It's great hearing from you DELLASOL. Take it one day at a time and work on small goals initially -- like remembering to logging in all your food at least 5 days during the week. Try exercising for a minimum of 20 mins a day! Small is good too. Hugs. Lise

A whole year. WOW! I have lost & gained & lost & gained some more. So it's really exciting to see others stories and what they have accomplished to get me focused again.

Positives for this past year:
I was more aware of what/when I was eating. I went in spurts completing the food log and again in the exercise area. I created a vision board and moved it to about 3 locations. In October I joined a Roller Derby team!

Things I need to work on:
Remeber - this seems to be a major issue
Focus - I want to do 8 things all at the same time.
Self Esteem - is low. When I look in mirror I don't see the girl I am, it's some old chubby lady looking back at me. (I am not old!)

Changes to make in 2012:
Remebering - Making notes daily.
Focus - finish 1 thing before starting another
Self Esteem - will come when lbs are lost when I remember/focus

One year update from a slower learner ;)

I have learned a lot about me this year. My weight has gone down and then back up. I am down about 8 total from my starting SP weight.

I have been on program and off program many times over this past year and I do believe that my biggest downfall is that I am a creature of habit... a lot of bad habits.

I am very hopeful that this time next year with Sparks, I will be able to say that I am well on my way with my weight loss journey.

I have made some significant changes in the past couple of weeks, one of which is joining Anytime Fitness- a 24hr gym with treadmills, ellipticals and a weight circuit. I am very excited about this change.

I had been a member of Curves for 8 years and had gotten very comfortable with that workout to the point that it really was not helping me. I didn't realize this fully until the Curves I belonged to had to close permanently. I went back and forth on whether or not to join another fitness center and finally came to the realization that it was either join, or gain another 50+ lbs, and be older and struggling that much more.

I am so glad I have this Sparks site to share my journey with... my successes, struggles and thoughts.

This coming year, will be my year ;) This past year has been my learning more about me year :)

WOW, it's been a year already??? Hard to believe that the time has gone by so quickly, and with so many great people helping out.

I'm down 65 pounds, and while that's not where I set my expectations to be, this is a journey of a thousand steps, and learning processes along the way.

A year ago I had literally given up and said I'm a "wysiwyg" person. What you see is what you get, so if you don't like what you see, don't look. I had all other areas in my life mostly in control, and was dealing well with everything else except my weight. When my doctor told me how much I weighed when I did my physical last year I knew I had to do something or I was l going to wind up killing myself. I had to quit giving up on myself.

It was my daughter who had joined Sparkpeople months before me who mentioned that I should try this site, and for that I will be forever in her debt.(She's wise beyond her years)

I enjoy this site a lot, and find that tracking the items every day gives me the control and the results that I've needed. And now it's on to year two and a new me. I'm at my halfway point in this journey, and I'm never going back to the starting point again.

A whole year! I never imagined that I would have even lost 10lbs but I have lost over 50lbs since I started my weight loss journey. I am not where I wanted to be but I'm not going to give up hope. This a lifetime of learning, what is good for me and not so good for me. I have to say if it wasn't for this community and wonderful online tool I probably would not be where I am. Everyone on here is amazing and so supportive. emoticon to my fellow Sparkers!

Thanks Lees! Isn't it exciting? A full year! And what a year of change...I have lost over 45 pounds and gained so much in terms of energy and vigor...it has been wonderful. And we can not underestimate the pleasures of meeting so many wonderful people here. You, my dear, really reeled me in at the perfect time. This site could easily have become something I signed up for and never did another thing with - but you put a face and a name to it and got me hooked!

Thank you so much for all that you do!

I could not imagine a better year! I've gotten my life back, truly!!

Still here with us? Let us know your progress to date.

Losing weight is not always simple to do. We all have stumbling blocks along the way. However, in order to encourage one and all, let us know how you feel about this journey.
