WOW, it's been a year already??? Hard to believe that the time has gone by so quickly, and with so many great people helping out.
I'm down 65 pounds, and while that's not where I set my expectations to be, this is a journey of a thousand steps, and learning processes along the way.
A year ago I had literally given up and said I'm a "wysiwyg" person. What you see is what you get, so if you don't like what you see, don't look. I had all other areas in my life mostly in control, and was dealing well with everything else except my weight. When my doctor told me how much I weighed when I did my physical last year I knew I had to do something or I was l going to wind up killing myself. I had to quit giving up on myself.
It was my daughter who had joined Sparkpeople months before me who mentioned that I should try this site, and for that I will be forever in her debt.(She's wise beyond her years)
I enjoy this site a lot, and find that tracking the items every day gives me the control and the results that I've needed. And now it's on to year two and a new me. I'm at my halfway point in this journey, and I'm never going back to the starting point again.

"In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit." - Albert Schweitzer
"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around." - Leo Buscaglia
