Hi everyone! I started my page back in Nov 2010 but I haven't been on here since then. I am trying to get back into the mindset before I have my baby in August. I am hoping to get back into the weight loss part of this by the end of September. Until then, I hope that I can be part of the team and help being there for people that need me:)

Losing weight is not easy but one has to be tenacious and as regular as a clock. Do set some small goals initially like working out 20 or 30 mins a day (for 5 days a week), or tracking your food. This works for tons of people so why not you?

Hello fellow Sparks friends,
My name is Jeannine and I live in Maryland, USA. I am happily married with 3 beautiful children and have struggled with my weight since I was about 8 years old. I am the baby of five with 3 brothers in the middle... so I naturally assumed that I could eat the same way they did!
I have been on this site everyday since joining on the 20th of Nov. I can't say enough good things about it. I am so excited about having a place to "chat" with others who can relate to what I have tried for so many years to do on my own!!! There is so much motivational stuff on here to read, I just wish I had more hours to spend on it!!!

Hi there! I just realized I'd never introduced myself here, though I joined the team shortly after joining SP. I've really been enjoying my journey here - having ways to track things is very motivating for me. I've joined a number of different challenges which have helped me to make healthy choices. I saw some immediate results the first couple weeks, and then the scale slowed down. I'm trying not to be discouraged but to continue to do the right things, knowing I'm eating healthier and getting more exercise.

Hello everyone! I am still slowly getting use to SparkPeople. When I first joined in November I was really motivated and ready to begin my weight loss journey...however this motivation didn't last long. For over a year I did WW and lost over 27 pounds. I felt great. I began to eat the right way and even loved to workout at the gym. I felt rejuvenated. However, since July of this year I have started to gain some back. My goal is to begin this once more with the hope of losing 10-15 pounds for my wedding in August. I can do this! I know I can. emoticon

Hi I am Shea (Shay) I love to crochet. Due to various health issues my medical team recommended I have lapband surgery. I had it on September 2nd. So far I am doing fine but I know how I am. This only works if you eat right and the lost is not fast but it is consistent. I joined Sparkpeople for guidance to keep me on track. I start Cardiac Rehab next week and will finally start exercising in an organize way. Now all I have to do is be consistent. I am a good starter but a poor finisher. Thank you for the encouragement and all of the tools.

Hello all! I am excited about this site and it has already really helped me get on track for losing the weight that I haven't been able to take off in years. I have had a series of medical problems for the last 2-3 years that has prevented me from exercising like I should have and there for would yo-yo my weight back and forth 10 lbs and each time it would creep a little higher. I'm happy to be here, within a couple of days I could already feel my energy level being better, while I never ate a whole lot, I also never ate the right kind of food in the proper balance. Love this site for showing me that.

Hi everyone. My name is Davetta (pronounced: Day-vet-ta). I am working on regaining a girlish figure emoticon . I currently have a bunch of stress in my life. Mom died in May 2010. I didn't take it too well.
My depression and sadness combined with stress has left me with physical and health problems. All of a sudden I'm diabetic! My eating was out of control but since I started on SparkPeople it has been getting much better. Having to track everything is awesome. I can stop myself in my tracks if I have to.
I celebrated my 50th birthday this month and joined SparkPeople the next day. When I weighed this morning I found that I have lost 6 pounds already!! emoticon I attend Columbus State University obtaining my Master's in Public Health. (go figure) I love my family. My grandson is 4 and I cannot keep up with him. I am learning to love myself.
I know that by sticking with the program I will succeed.
Thank you for this chance to prove to myself that I can do this!

Hi, my name is Teri. I'm very impressed with Spark people. It will be interesting to see how we all progress. I'm reading from several of you that you're beginning stage 2. I'm going to have to figure that out!

I don't have as much time as I'd like to figure all of the wonderful things available out, but I'm sure will get it as time goes on. How do you get that strip on your blogs that shows weight remaining or weight lost?

I'm 50 with three great kids and one adorable grand-son. I've always had a lot of stress in my life, but it really got stressful two years ago. Last month my blood pressure and cholestoral were high for the first time in my life. What a surprise. Am working hard on my diet and exersice to see if that will control it or if it's the stress or just plain age. I'm hoping not to go on drugs because of all of the side affects, but I guess that's what I'll do if I have to.

Hey :)! My name is Becka and I am from North Carolina. I am 19 years old and a volunteer firefighter as well as a full time college student at Argosy University [Online]. Iím going for my Bachelors degree in Psychology and in January (I hope) plan to go to school for my EMT-Basic. I am trying to lose 50lbs by next November. I am a mommy to an angel. Hi Team,
I am Molly and I live in Lake Tahoe, CA with my boyfriend and two very active dogs. It is an outdoor life and my work affords me plenty of time to play. Unfortunately, I have slowly but surely let myself get in the worst shape I have even been. I am nervous about the upcoming ski season and dubious if my legs can take it. Going to do yoga today, I have a cold and don't think my body could take much more than that. I'm not new to the diet seen, after the birth of my 4th child I never worked on getting back to pre-pregnancy wt. Hello all,

I am a newly single 32 year old with a wonderful 15 year old girl.... OK OK she is a dog.... but to me she is a daughter. I have a job that I love!!!!! but my schedule makes it more of a challenge to eat right (or at home) and get in work out time. I went from a size 2 to a size 14 as my life got more stressful... I have gotten down to a 12, but want to get healthy and fit again... I don't think that I want go back to being a 2, but I want to get back to shape that don't make me want to cry in a swim suit. I want to get fit and stay fit for life. I WILL be the crazy old Aunt who take her

hello...I'm Heather, 36, from Vermont...I've technically been a sparkpeople member since 2007, but I mostly read articles...really wasn't active on the message boards and left in early 2008. I never deleted my account, and decided to try again a couple days ago after I met with a nutritionist. I updated my spark page, posted my first blog entry, and looked for teams to join. I never explored a whole lot last time, so while this is a second attempt, it's the first real one. I'm the heaviest I've ever been, with over 100 pounds to lose, and I'm feeling scared and alone.

Hi everyone. I am a 34 yr old mother of two girls (6 and 2.5) My husband and I have decided that we both need set a better example for our girls and lose weight. We both have over a 100 lbs. to shed. We're taking this one step at a time. Our first focus is to eat healthy meals and control portion sizes. I've been using the nutrition tracker and I am amazed that I had no idea how many calories I (we) were consuming! Here's to creating a new habit in the next 30 days! I look forward to getting to know and supporting everyone on your journeys to a better way of life.

Hello all. I am a 26 year old SAHM to two amazing little boys ( almost 4 & 2 months) Before I got pregnant with my second son I had lost 50 pounds and unfortunately I gained all most all of it back during my pregnancy. I am ready to get myself back on track and feeling great again.

Hello All! I am a 30 year old SAHM with two kids. I am looking to reenter the workforce. I was doing baby fit, but now I've joined spark people. My goal is to lose 27 pounds. Greetings all! My name is Kate and I just recently joined the site to become a touch healthier. I have recently found my groove working out (for the most part) but find that doing the same routines can get a little boring and uninspiring and have come here for new dieas. I have also discovered that while my diet has definitely improved from my college days (they don't discuss the freshman 15 for nothing), I still have my weaknesses. Ahh if only I could get over my chocolate obsession...

Hello everyone,
My name is Rose and I have been looking in on Sparkpeople for awhile now. I did not know how to use the system. I did lose 15 lbs. but gave up and now I have gained it back. I hope to do better this time. I did not know about this team the last time...lol.
I have been married 38 yrs. and I have 2 daughters 32 and 37yrs. old and 2 grandsons 11 and 15yrs. old. and we have 2 Shih-tzu who are our babies. We live in Ottawa, ON. I am glad to be back.

Hello, My name is Shari and I just signed up this morning. I am ready to turn my life around and go back to being the healthy fit person I once was 10 years ago. I'm 43 and on my 37th birthday I weighed in a slim 142! I started to gain weight. 40 lbs. in 1 year, then 15 the next and the gain slowed down after that but I had reached 206 lbs. I managed to drop below 200 and lost 15 lbs. when I broke my ankle this last Spring. People normally gain weight but the pain killers made me so sick! I've have mananged to keep those 15 lbs. off but really need to drop at least 30 lbs.I am hoping by joining Spark People I will be held more accountable for my actions. I am a famous binge eater and HATE to exercise! I want to make a change!

I lost 5 6 months ago and then gained 2.2 back with the wedding planning & honeymoon. I'm looking for friends and motivation to help me keep with it. Alright.

Hi, folks! I'm Ted, a 27yo from California. I've been around 260 +/- 10 for over a decade now, and I think I've finally gotten motivated enough to get it down.

Eventually getting down to about 200 would be spectacular, but I think if I even got down to 220 or so I'd be pretty happy with that.

Anyone know how to get the site to agree with my timezone? It keeps switching days on me before my day is over.

Hi, I'm Alix. I'm a recent college graduate, I have moved over 200 km away from my family in search for my "dream job". I have been struggling with my weight for 7 years and now that I am changing my life and routine I might as well go for changing my lifestyle and weight. I'm 170 right now and hope to go down to 140 ish.
I'm also going to be the maid of honour in my best-friend's wedding this coming summer and I would really like feel good in my dress.

Hello Everyone,

I'm a 21 year old student hoping to get back into shape, lose some weight and feel better. In the last six months I have gained 15 lbs and a total of close to 30 in the last 3 or 4 years while at post secondary school. I've reached the heaviest I've ever weighed at over 145 lbs and am hoping to eventually get back down to the weight I was going into university which was around 118 lbs.

Hi Team Members :) My name is Beverly and I'm 22! My current weight is 196 and it's the heaviest I've ever been. My weight fluctuates constantly and I'm tired of it! Hi everyone! My name is Katie and I am from North Carolina. I will turn 32 on Nov. 26 and have been married to my best friend for 8 years. I want to get healthy to feel better about myself and set a good example to my two daughters (6 and 3). I have struggled with my weight my whole life and am ready to make the changes needed to live a healthy lifestyle for both myself and my children.

Hi Carmela, WELCOME to SP and our team!! It's sometimes hard to find time/energy to work out when you have children but SP is all about small steps and fitting in just 10 minutes of exercise at a time. I think you will be very happy with the SP concepts and you WILL get healthier!

Spark People is a fantastic place to be for healthy living information, delicious healthy recipes and exercise demos. Hello. My name is Lise (pronounced Lees). Originally from Canada, I now live in Dakar, Senegal with my husband. Our two daughters and their children live in Canada. I do travel on a yearly basis to my homeland to touch base and breathe the Canadian air. I do miss the family but living out here is also very pleasant.

I joined Spark People in 2009 and have volunteered to lead this team because I emoticon and wish to help people on the site. Should you need help at any given point, just come knocking on my door and I will get back to you as soon as possible. My co-leader will also be there to help.

Since joining SP, I have lost a total of 35 lbs and keep on losing on a regular basis. I do keep tab of my food intake and do exercise a lot. There are no tricks to losing weight. It's an equation, you diminish your food intake and you burn it off by exercising and in the end you lose... emoticon emoticon and emoticon emoticon emoticon equals emoticon emoticon
