Hi there!
please visit my SparkPage re: myself.

just off-hand, it does seem like quite a few of the people who joined SP the same week that i did back in Oct 2010 are having trouble with their weight loss journeys.

So am i having trouble. i am planning to weigh in tomorrow. if i lost 3 # for a short week since last weigh-in, i'll be, well, mildly satisfied for the week.

I have so much weight to lose and i've been messing around with overweight and weight loss well all my life. it's more like morbid obesity now.

i think i did lose something else much more precious, instead of losing the weight!
can't really elucidate...it may be unbelievable!

Hi everyone,
My name is Tanya and i have two children under the age of 8 and they both play rep hockey and my daughter also plays competitive soccer. To say the least, I am a busy mom (i also work part time and volunteer quite a bit). This leads to less time for me.

I am very excited about this program because although losing weight is wonderful result of eating well and exercising, my goal is to exercise more and to participate consistently. My kids are my motivators because i want to be a part of their lives and i want to participate in their activities (not only by watching and cheering them on). So keep your fingers crossed for me as i continue my journey.

My name is Christina and I'm trying to get fit and loose around 10 lbs. I lead a very active social life and find it very difficult to say no to all the invitations! now ill power at all.
It then becomes a vicious cycle as I get tired then am too tired to walk! I am hoping for a magic wand to solve my problems.

Hi everyone. My name is Jeff. I am a 25 year old from Texas, USA. I got married in July and while I started losing weight up to the wedding day, the scales have crept back up after the wedding and honeymoon. I'm 47, and have been living a very fast paced, busy family lifestyle. At 248lbs with a bunch of various health issues such as arthritis, high cholesterol, pending knee replacement and most recently high glucose level, I've been trying to start a diet and/or exercising more many times over the past decade and a half or so. It was the glucose level that got me. One very close to Stage 2 Diabetic level. And then a month and a half ago one over the level. Within the next day or two I changed my diet, started recording my daily food intake, seeing a dietitian, and though I was going to wait till after my knee surgery in March 2011 to start biking, I went out and bought a bicycle, which I've been riding a lot since. So it's been about 7 weeks of my new lifestyle and I feel a lot better. I had a glucose test a 3 weeks ago and it was significantly lower. Now that I see the difference I know I need to stay focused, stay healthy and there is a long way to go.

Hi, I'm Star. I've been a sparker before about 4 years ago. I worked great for me. I lost about 100 pounds. Then I had a wonderful blessing (my 3rd son) happened that derailed me for longer that it should have. In that period of time I gained back about 50 pounds. So, here I am again. Hoping to find motivating people that will help me along my journey back to health. Portion control is my big problem and will probably haunt me forever. But that's why I am here. Hi, my name is Steve I’m 42 living in Derbyshire, England single and not very happy with life at the moment. I actually joined SP back in August but didn’t really think it was for me... Anyway that was then and I failed to keep things going. Long story but something triggered in me last Sunday and I decided that I’d change my life for the better and for some reason took another look on here and well still here and fired up. If SP can keep me as revved up to the level it has so far, and given a bit of peer pressure and support, hopefully I’ll be able to stick with things and achieve my current goals. Which are, to drop 62 lbs by my birthday in May, start feeling better about myself and try to forget the missed opportunities of the past, and make a return to running and cycling after what must now be a 9 year lapse.

Jello! My name is Susan. I'm 25, married to my bestest buddy, with BEAUTIFUL twin boys (20 months old). I'm READY to lose the 70 lbs I've gained over the last few years. I'm super pumped about SP and I've already seen so many motivational sparkpages, I KNOW I can do this. I worked out for the first time since before I was prego today (bad, I know - but that's why I'm here! :) and I thought I was gonna die! But, I persevered and I made it. That first step was DEFINITELY hard. But, I'm looking forward to tomorrow and how much easier it SHOULD be. (Maybe next week it'll be easier? lol - we'll see.) I'm struggling a little bit with eating - still had some fast food the last couple of days, but really it's because I can't go to the grocery store until tomorrow - dang money situation! Hopefully, I will learn something about managing that along with managing my fitness and nutrition. Anyway, super excited to be here. Hi, I'm Hollieann, a 41 year old mother of a 6 year old daughter and 12 year old son. I am also an American living in Sweden.

With each kid I gained weight that I was able to lose quiet easily. Then a couple years ago, I just started gaining slowly. I would lose a few pounds with dieting, then gain them back. My biggest problem is exercise and snacking. The only physical activity that I take part in, is cleaning the house :) I can eat very healthy, and know loads about nutrition, but then I will snack on high calorie foods between healthy organic meals. I'm just not consistent when it comes to eating.

So besides wanting to lose weight, 10 kilos/22 lbs, I want to increase my physical fitness. I don't know if I am out of my mind, but I would like to be able to do marathons one day. I want to start with running, which I usually hate, HATE. I love biking, but one hill will wipe me out with the condition I am in now. I have a love/hate thing going on with swimming.

So I am hoping this site will help keep me focused and on tract. I am counting on some peer pressure also. I do find myself being inspired by others.

Hi! I'm Erin and I'm 23 years old. I'm trying this again, like others, and I really need to make it work for me. I graduated college in December, with a degree in Elementary Education. I'm trying to get a teaching job, and right now the only thin I'm really able to find is substituting jobs. To get these jobs I have to renew my clearances and get a physical/TB test yearly. I went to my family doctor to get a physical, and was told in no uncertain terms I MUST change my behaviors and weight, or else I will have to be on cholesterol medicines, and other medicines and restrictions at the age of 23. This is NOT something I want, so I'm making a change. My doctor wants to see a reduction in my blood pressure, and a change in my weight/activity levels when I go back for another visit January 11th. I'm going to be needing a lot of support through this, and I'm willing to be just as supportive to someone else. Let me know if you'd like to chat or start talking more than on forums, I'd love to find a weight loss buddy, or two or three......

Hi -

I'm a stay at home Mom of two, and I need to lose at least 45 pounds. I did Weight Watchers a couple of years ago and lost about 20 pounds, quit going because it was so expensive and then gained about 25 pounds back on.

Then over the past few months I signed up for Weight Watchers Online and didn't get anywhere with it. I just didn't like how you could eat nothing but processed junk as long as the ratio of calories, fat, and fiber worked out right. I didn't like the cost, even for the online version. And I like to eat more than I like to be healthy sometimes.

Then a few things happened. First, even though it is still summer-like temps in Indiana cold weather is coming, and none of my cool weather clothes fit. Second, our family is planning our first ever trip to Disney World in the spring, and I would really like to be thinner and healthier for the trip.

So I gave WW Online one more big try, decided it wasn't worth it, and after hearing about the success of a college friend of mine, checked out SparkPeople.

I used to be skinny but a hectic student lifestyle has led to weight gain. I am not happy with how I look and i'm not happy with how I feel. It's really my bad eating habits that I need to take care of. I love to run and i'm part of a running club but i'm just not a healthy eater and it makes me feel sluggish a lot of the time so I don't know why I make the bad choices that I do!!! I need to start making better choices and planning my meals and i'm hoping I will find the motivation to do that.

I'm excited to be back using Spark once again because I know it is a great place!! I just need to make sure I use the support that is here this time.

Today seemed like a good day to start being accountable for my health...not sure why today is that day, but it is. I am 38 and truly have about 100 lbs to lose, but am beginning with a goal of 33 lbs. I am a single parent of a 12 and 10 year old and they are fabulous! I want to be healthy so I can enjoy this time of my life to the fullest. I also teach middle school- I used to be a chemist, but decided I wanted to give back to the community, so I now teach science at a high-poverty school. So, in order to truly reach the point in my life where I want to be, the biggest challenge I have is my weight. I am tired of being tired and embarrased by how unhealthy I am, so I am ready to do this. STARTING NOW.emoticon

Hi, I'm Ashley! I am a 23 year old mother and wife. I have been married for a little over 4 years and our daughter is soon to be 6 months old. I have had a lot of trouble trying to get back into healthy eating habits since having my daughter but no such luck! I plan on losing 30 pounds by my daughters first birthday on April 14,2011..That's atleast 5 pounds a month and I'm up for it!! :)

Hello my name is Jeri-Lynn and I have about 40lbs to lose. I did the spark thing before and I lost 20lbs, have have kept that off but I did not lose anymore. I left sparkpeople because I felt like I was ready to do it all on my own. Boy was I wrong! I need the extra support so I am back and going to stick with it until the end.emoticon

Hello, I am Holly and this is not my first time on this journey but I am hoping it will be my last.

I am 24 and me and my wonderful husband just moved into our first house! This is a great time to start a new routien and get this weight off.

My goald is to lose around 50 lbs. That will put me in the Healthy weight range, and I want to do this before having a baby. I hope I can achive my goals finally!

Hey everyone, I'm Laurin. I keep trying to start and get the ball rolling on spark and then losing my momentum. I'm a master of talking myself out of gym time so I'm hoping that getting active on a team will do something to help with that. I have 30 pounds to loose and I'm ready to do it!

Hello All! My name is Carrie and I am 32 years old. I used to be a skinny minnie before I had kids, and have always had an excuse as to why I am 'chubby' but I'm done having kids and about to be done with my college education too so I'm done with excuses! I started jogging in July, and did really well for about 6 weeks, even completed a 5K, but when this semester of school started, I just dropped the ball. I hope by joining SparkPeople I will be able to stay motivated and get this weight off by the time I graduate in May!

Hello everyone,

My name is Kim. I have a 16yo daughter, and custody of my 13yo neice.

Ok, I started working out on the 8th, and been doing pretty good. Today in lue of working out I have been scrubbing the kitchen floor since about 10AM. There was something all over it when we moved in and just to "lazy" to get on top of it and get it taken care of.

I am trying really hard to give myself a new outlook on life and hopefully the weight will just come off.
