Welcome - you have come to a great place for the support to stay to the end!
Never give up, never quit, never surrender
You only fail when you stop trying
There is nothing to hold you back except you.
You can press forward long after you can’t. It’s a matter of wanting it bad enough.
The bad news is: we are our own worst enemies. The good news is: we are our own greatest champions.

Hi Cheryl, welcome!
Weight loss is accomplished with the mind.
A person who wants something WILL find a way....a person who doesn't will find an excuse.
Which do you prefer? The pain of self discipline?....or...the pain of self regret?

“Do not let your fire go out spark by irreplaceable spark... Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved and have never been able to reach. The world you desire can be won. It exists.. it is real…. It is possible…. It’s yours. “ Ayn Rand (Atlas Shrugged)
I'm 52 and I've been overweight for about 20 years, when I gained 40 pounds while quitting smoking. I still haven't smoked but my weight has continued to build over the years. I started at a weight of 118 and now I'm up to a (gulp!) weight of 184! I don't want to carry this burden any more. I've dieted and lost before but always gained it back and then some without ever reaching my goal. This time I'm going to do it!!! I want to be healthy and fit. I know with the support of everyone at Sparkpeople I can do it right this time. Here's to a new beginning!
