Bright Blessings

Been a Sparker for six years or so and have reached the maintenace stage. Hey, it took me awhile. LOL LOL

I am a free lance writer and Tarot Card reader at bitwine/AnniRose.

My favorite hobby is journaling, anything, but the food journal is the most important. Not only does it help me keep track of the food I eat but also the daily temptations, wasn't that a Motown Group? Just kidding.

Love and Light

Anni

My cat rules the house too...well, when he's awake he is lord almighty, ruler on high.

But when he's asleep, we tell the dog he's really the crowned prince in charge of it all.

Sometimes, when both the dog and cat are asleep, I tell hubby he is lord commander...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...silly pets!

Hello! New to the team but not to spark and having returned have been checking out a lot of teams, saw this on another team I had joined and was intrigued. My mysticism is kind of all over the place and has been that way all my life. So I am just a solitary seeker.

Lol, I also share my home with a black kitty. She is ruler of all here and the dog and I live to serve her.

Nice to meet you.

thank you for the welcome nothing felt right either this is the only belief where you can be solitary & still part of a group. I took Greek/Roman mythology, started learning about my genealogy (Irish/German). I fell in love with the Irish mysticism. On the lighter & true to lore I have always shared my home with a black cat emoticon

Hi Lynna...my background is Catholicism, Judaism, and New Agism...just to round out the isms...LOL.

My mom was excommunicated from the Catholic church because she got pregnant with me while being married to man who was not my father. She remained devout until the mid 90s when she became a born again Christian.

My nanny was Jewish.

I was raised to believe in something bigger than me, greater than me...to have respect for what I can only see in faith. I studied the bible, learned latin, and went to Hebrew school as well as Sunday school. I didn't fit!

I have only one strong belief and that is...if it doesn't feel right, it isn't right. And for me, even though I tried my very best, Judeo-Christian religions do not feel right. (I assume Islam wouldn't feel right either.)

Multiple deities feel right to me...not like a golden calf or anything, but also not like a Father or Son...to me there HAS TO be a Mother and a Daughter...and a neutral. In other words, a pantheon.

I don't believe this team has a unified belief system...so stick around as long as it feels right....we are all here to be healthier humans anyway...this team just focuses on the spiritual health of its members.

Love and light my friend!

Hi all, reading all these posts I'm not sure I would fit. My background is Jehovah Witness, Methodist, baptist but nothing seemed "right". My parents opened a garden center & I started learning about herbs & their benefits. Then before I knew it I was getting books, candles & learning some meditation. I will admit life got in the way & I gave up in all of it. I'm trying to find my way back. Have a wonderful day

I have so much to learn from all of you...

I have just begun to clean up my eating. My short term goals are to be completely off processed food. (By the end of 2012)

I have cut out food "staples" I would have sworn I was going to eat until my dying breath...like microwave popcorn, and coffee mate creamers...baby steps are working!

I live in an apartment with tiny patios...my goal for that is a potted garden by 2013.

And of course it is wonderful to have company on my solitary path...love and light to all!

I took a course years ago that combined the kabalah with tarot and IMHO, Rider-Waite symbolism is the way to go fo me with that training.

Merry Meet Ya'll

I started walking the Wiccan path in 1981 with Blue Star in New York, Gardnerian a few years later. Moved to Charlotte NC in 1989. Started an eclectic Church of All Worlds group in 2001 which ran for several years. It's all good!
Husband and I are into raising as much organic food on our 1/3 acre lot in a small southern town as possible. I'm very much into raw dairy and other foods from local providers.
Love Sparkpeople and look forward to joining this group.

Glad to have you both on the team...not sure if I ever introduced myself here as I am familiar with the leaders...

Most people call me Tes, though my full pagan name is Tesenisis, which is Egyptian meaning daughter of Isis. I follow the Egyptian pantheon and have been pagan for 10.5 years. I am a bit of a kitchen witch and into healing, am a Reiki Master, massage and shiatsu therapist, and into natural healing versus medicines, though I feel they all have their value.

Hope you all find support and comfort here on the team!

Brightest Blessings!

I'm new here and I love that this team seems so active!

My name is Eydie and I've been pagan as long as I can remember. And the older I get that becomes a very slippery word for me. Pagan: what does that mean exactly? For most of my life I was very much into the Celtic pantheon and now I feel that I'm being drawn to a certain Egyptian goddess and toward spiritual alchemy and wanting to learn much more about those things. I'm into the Tarot and draw a card every morning to set my mind for the day. My fitness journey is also a spiritual journey for me and I have a lot to say about that! I believe in the concept of the Body Temple and I try to treat it as such even though I fall short sometime. I'm very interested in cooking, I mean I'm crazy about it, and never tire of talking about it. I was a vegetarian for 27 years and have been vegan for the past year and it's been fun learning how to do a balanced plant-based diet. I love to exercise too--my favorites are yoga, belly dancing, Pilates, and strength training.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

"Choices, not sacrifices."

Howdy team...I actually "introduced" myself on the "5 words for today" thread.

So this is my many worded intro...

I am a pagan, natural, solitary witch. My areas of spiritual study are rocks and minerals, runes, sidereal astrology, and earth energies.

I am also a student of people, non spiritual geology, quantum physics and human communication systems.

I am on SparkPeople for the community of like minded people seeking to live healthier lives.

I have about one hundred pounds to lose in order to be within a healthy weight range for my height. And I am looking for activities that keep me...ummm...active...lol.

It is wonderful to meet all of you and I am so glad I found this team.

Hello!! ..again : )

It's been forever since I've been on SP let alone posting and being active with this team. But here I am, trying , learning, and hopefully loosing again.

This time I going about it differently. I'm downsizing (lol a pun!!) and simplifying. Taking smaller steps and building better habits, one at a time.

So hello again : )

Greetings and blessings, Lisa! I'm glad you're here, too. We can all use all the support we can get. I'm Erica, and I live in Denver, CO. We're expecting a blizzard overnight, but I'm the world's worst skeptic when it comes to predictions of bad weather for the Denver area. It's like there'a a big, invisible bubble over the city of Denver, and when the clouds hit that bubble, they part and go around us, like a river going around a rock.... and the cities to the north and south and east of us get pounded really hard. So.... they're saying 14 inches or more of snow, and I'm looking at the sky, and sniffing the air, and I'm saying "if it even snows, I'll be surprised!"

I've been a member of SparkPeople for nearly 3 years, and I've gone from OVER 312 pounds to 166, then back up to 193. I had bariatric surgery when I was 55 years old, after years and years of yo-yo dieting. I'd do it again in a nano-second, because I feel like I've been given a second chance at life. My blood pressure is down, my cholesterol and triglycerides are down, and I feel better than I have since I was 17 years old. I am trying to lose that 25 + pounds I gained back when I ended up having two major surgeries and a serious injury that had me in a wheelchair and unable to exercise effectively for over a year.

I wish you and everyone a Blessed Imbolc!

Erica

Hi - I'm Meri, "parent" to 4 cats and 3 little dogs (all of my children have paws). Like many others, I was raised in various "christian" religions (Episcopal, Baptist, Methodist, even Unitarian), but never felt really comfortable in them. Wicca just seems a much better fit!

Hi! I am a 32 year old mother of 3, and have been married for 11 years. I lilve in a very rural area of the US.

I never have really fit in anywhwere. I have a great curiostity for Wicca. Before I was confirmed Catholic, I studied several different religions. I found a lot of comfort in the little that I was able to find and experience about Wicca. I hope you will have me in you group. It looks lilke a very positive and honest bunch.

Greetings.

There is something to be said for serendipity. Iíve been doing a bit of spiritual clean-up/searching recently, and now I find myself here. The path always seems to take you where you need to be, even if you do not know where you are going to end up.

Iíve been struggling with my spiritual identity for quite some time now. I was raised Catholic, but that particular shoe never fit. (I was the only 14-year-old (oh so many years ago) in my church to be kicked out of confirmation classes.) Iíve always felt a strong affinity with the natural world around me and the interconnectedness of all things, and I find the tenets of Wicca quite appealing and I have dabbled my toes in the river. But when it comes to committing myself, I hesitate. I feel like Iím fumbling along, and identifying myself a witch feels like a fraud. A costume that I would like to fit, but havenít quite grown into yet.

Apologies. I did not mean for my first post to become a confession. Iím usually quite light-hearted! Honest! I simply stumbled upon this page while doing some web wandering and the vibe of the page and the group spoke to me. It felt very welcoming. Like where I should be right now.

SoÖif you donít mind a bit of questioning (I promise not to angst! Iím much too old for that.) as I build a better me physically, emotionally, and spiritually, then hello and Iím glad to be here.

Blessings, Sisters..... I am sorry for the "duplicity" - but you already know me as Womyn42 or Erica. I needed to create a new persona, because my youngest daughter is also a member of SparkPeople, and recently she has been upset by some of my blog subjects. I want to be free to blog about things that are important to me without having to worry about what she thinks or how her feelings might be hurt.... so I will be phasing out the Womyn42 identity over the next few weeks, and using YoungCrone almost exclusively.

Thanks for your understanding.

In Her Light,
Erica

Bright Blessings,
Erica

I take the lot of medication that adds more weight and when I try to lose weight I and up gaining more than I started with that this is a never-ending part of my life and now it seems the gods have chosen a better way for me to lose weight and make a better life. I do need support from other members and friends and would like to share anything needed.

Hi. I'm Sarah. 24. Raised Baptist, figured out that wasn't my path and have been a practicing Witch and Pagan believer for... oh wow 14 years now.

I tend to practice candle and cord magick, with a some talisman work. I am interesting in learning more about my roots in Appalachian folk magick - proud West Virginian here.

I don't work with a particular pantheon, the Gods have a tendency to find me. Lilith and I are close and it seems the Greek Underworld Gods are attempting to get my attention. :)

If anyone wants to be tarot buddies that would be awesome as one of my goals is to study more.

Blessings,
Sarah

Hi, my name is Heather. I have been on SparkPeople for quite some time, but I am pretty much starting over after a long break.

I have no idea what path I am on. I'm discovering a little more of it each day. I was raised to be a Christian, but never came close to fitting in or believing in all the things a good Christian should. I have been leaning towards Paganism for a long time now, but about a month ago I went into overdrive. I am reading everything I can get my hands on and I feel so much better about my world now. When I decide to put this much energy into weight loss, nothing will stop me!

I am glad to have found this team. I joined a few other Pagan/Wiccan teams here, but they don't have anything close to the energy this one does.

I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Heather

A team for those who go by their own drum...that is for me. Hmm, you said off the beaten path, well, that is me also. I am the daughter of a doctor and nurse, but practice holistic healing with my family. My family is deep in the Presbyterian church, and I married and practice Science of Mind (as well as raising the kids that way). Hmm, hubby and I also do believe and practice our Scottish heritage in learning of and following the Druids as well. So, I think off the beaten path would describe me. Yet, my day job is being the compliance officer at a non-profit. Yea, don't hurt your head wrapping around that one. Let's just say, I fight for truth, justice and fairness for all!

Stuck and slow on my path to health. But, looking forward to getting nearer to goal. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Doing better now that walking is a part of my life. Currently clocking 11,000 plus steps a day. Love to be out in nature and not stuck in a gym (yea, that is the Druid in me!) Rather be wet in rain than sweaty in a gym.

Cheers!

Namaste,

I've been sparking on and off for a few years.

I've been working on losing weight that auto-immune Hashimoto's thyroiditis has seen fit to add on to my body and it's been an excruciatingly slow process...but I refuse to let that ornery little gland win! I'm counting calories, working out 2 days a week at a conditioning class and trying to stay active around the house and resting when my body says 'uncle.'

I would qualify myself as a child of the Divine...I feel pulled to a few different paths, but am most definitely connected to Nature. What actually caught my eye in this forum is the Kitchen Witch thread! That would be a great way to describe me - I love food, love to cook for folks and definitely have a way around an herb garden and pantry! :)

Merry Meet!

I am Kristen, from Nova Scotia, Canada! For the past four or five years I would class myself as a solitary open minded, somewhat practicing individual. Lately I have started diving into my life and looking at what I need to make changes to. One thing is weight loss and healthy living, hence joining SparkPeople, but another is my beliefs. I need to start giving them more time.

I am a mom of a ten month old little boy who keeps me on my toes and keeps me active. He is part of the reason I want to get a handle on my health and who I am spiritually.

I look forward to interacting with everyone from the team!!

-Kristen-

Hello All!!!

I'm Dawn. I've been sparking for about a month. I have a massive amount of weight to lose, and I love the support I get here. I saw this team and thought it seemed like a very friendly, personable, positive energy-filled team. I definitely need as much of that as possible!

I'm a pantheist. I don't really believe in a conscience divine being, but I see divinity in all things on the earth. I believe in the power and magic of the Universe and of Self. I love Autumn and rain storms.

I'm bisexual, but I have been married to a man for 7 years. We have a Beautiful little girl, Willow Morningstar, who is 2 years old now. She is the light of my life.

Well, that's the basics. I'm pretty much an open book, so if your curious about anything just ask. Look forward to getting involved with this team!

I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who conquers his enemies; for the hardest victory is the victory over self.

Hello! I like the atmosphere in this team!

I am turning 30 on the 23rd. On Monday is my second wedding anniversary with my wonderful wife and wonderful husband. Well that's the first time I've mentioned that here on Spark! I wasn't sure how it'd be taken on the forum at large. I was prompted to by Euphrates' intro, since she mentioned polyamory.

I am in a polyamorous "polyfidelitous" triad. We've been together for seven and a half years, living together for six, and we had a wonderful, very large commitment ceremony with all our families and friends two years ago. My wife is an animator and my husband is a computer programmer.

I am a therapeutic horseback riding instructor for the handicapped. I am also going to school off and on, studying art -- particularly ceramics.

My father is a strictly logical scientific agnostic, and my mom was an eclectic pagan (animist/pantheist). My parents were horrified when I went through a firey born-again Pentecostal Christian phase in my teen years, but despite that they never said a word against it, and were EXTREMELY supportive. Kudos to them.

I rarely discuss my current spiritual beliefs. I am atheistic/pantheistic, with a strong need for ritual, sacred rites and worshipful music in my life. Existence and the universe, to me, are divine, in and of themselves. I experience great awe every day at what exists.

We have several pets -- I have a horse, a parrot, several rare fish, hermit crabs, a dog, and cats.

Gryffindor!

Hello!!! Was looking around the list of teams, saw this one, came in and was struck immediately with all this great energy!!!

A little about me. I've been married 24 years now to a wonderful man. We share our life with our 21 year old daughter, 3 dogs, 3 cats.

The best word to sum up my path would be, seeker.

Looking forward to getting acquainted, learning and sharing with all of you : ) Feel free to ask questions : )

We used to have a data center in the UK we had to call once in a while (now all of our European stuff filters through Germany), and there was a guy there named Gregor who had such a think Scottish accent I had a hard time understanding him...and by the time we got the the end of the conversation (by which time I *could* understand him), I'd be talking like him, and couldn't shake it for at least half an hour. LOL

Ya know, I've joined a ton of team and rarely do the "intro" - I kind of just jump in and figure if people are curious they'll ask. (And gods know there's enough to ask about.) But I don't suspect I've gone much into my magickal/pagan background anywhere on SP yet, so this is a good opportunity. Plus, y'all are like family already anyway.

I grew up with no religious background much at all - my dad was Jewish (first generation American even, his parents had both come from Russia when they were young) and my mom was "Kentucky-mutt-pentacostal-holly-roller", and they agreed when they married to just leave it to us. I do remember my father lighting Sabbath candles when I was little (unusual since it's usually the female head of the household's job, but my mom never converted) and taking us to Saturday "kids' temple" a few times. When my parents separated for a year (I was 12), my mom started taking us to a local Methodist Church every Sunday, which to ME was incredibly cool - being the Sag I am, spirituality fascinated me, though I felt horribly behind all these kids who'd grown up in church and could name all the books of the Bible in order). I eventually ended up with one of those modern paperback New Testaments that I read cover to cover (several times), and at the age of 16 I started going to church with a friend and ended up baptised (OOOOO, my father was PISSED). My sister started going there too - her best friend's dad was the pastor - and she got baptised about 3 months later. And thus began my 12 years as a Born Again Evangelical Christian. But again, being the Sag I am, I was still the kind of person who wanted to know WHY...and I had REAL problems with people who called themselves Christians but didn't walk the walk. Not that I did - there was plenty of sex in there, including a baby that I placed for adoption, and lots of struggling with what I was *supposed* to do vs. what felt right to me. Eventually - after YEARS of looking like I knew what I was doing well enough to end up in charge of things a lot, including being Nursery Director of our church when my husband - the first one - and I started having kids - I came to the conclusion that if it was impossible to really LIVE as a Christian (and all we were doing was banking on God's forgiveness after we died), what was the point? Note - I never had any bad feelings toward the church or Christians in general (a few pastors in specific, but we all have that right?), and though I sometimes get frustrated I still don't. The way I tend to look at it is they have *part* of the truth, but not all the pieces. I see spirituality as a huge ornate cathedral - and Christianity is just one beautifully appointed room. When I stepped back and stopped looking only out that window, and realized there was a whole Cathedral to explore, I couldn't limit myself anymore.

Of course, polyamory came before paganism for me (which is somewhat backwards from the norm, at least from what I've heard - then again, I've run into some pretty anti-poly pagans, so there ya go) - I realized that I was in love with more than one person, which went against everything I'd been taught as "givens", so I had to question all of my "givens" to come to terms with the discrepancy between what I'd been taught to believe and my experience. The first book I picked up ('cause it was little and I could hide it, not to mention relatively inexpensive) was a little book by Scott Cunningham called "The Truth About Witchcraft Today". Not long after a friend (who I knew from the SCA) leant me a book called Positive Magic by Marion Weinstein, which explained things in a way I didn't have to throw out Christianity with the bathwater - it just took what I already knew and expanded on it (I developed my theory that magick is just "prayer with props" after reading that book), which was the "Okay I don't have to be afraid of this" I needed to really start exploring. After about a year, I self-dedicated myself to following a pagan path wherever it would lead me. Which is right about the time I met the man who was to become my 2nd husband - very charismatic Scorpio, who I found out later had presented himself in ways that weren't really true (but by then it was too late and I'd already committed myself...sigh...ah hindsight). He SAID he understood that I was new to paganism and needed to explore and figure out where I was going (he'd been studying it for years, though hadn't become outwardly active until his divorce the year before), but in practice? Not so much - if he wasn't running it, it wasn't worth doing (his opinion of other groups), and if I was interested in doing something someone *else* was running, I was being disloyal. *headdesk* SO, for the next 13 years my ability to explore was significantly stunted (as he doesn't "play well with others" - he tended to burn bridges, though as I've discovered since the divorce most people didn't have issues with ME...but I wasn't allowed to "consort with the enemy"). However, I didn't feel right doing HIS stuff either (the idea of not being romantically involved with your teacher had taken hold somewhere). So I read a lot, picked up a lot by osmosis, and learned to trust my intuition. Well, actually, let me amend that - after the DIVORCE I learned to trust my intuition. My mate is constantly telling me I know more than I give myself credit for, and I've got a good "feel" for things even if I don't have the words to explain them. I still tend to resonate towards the Roman (which is my ex-husband's base spirituality, though he tended to get involved with whatever he happened to be researching at the time, including a stint with mesoamerican deities and his current and ongoing fascination with Canaanite religion, which gives him a foundation for his sacred sexuality Qadishti work). My "patrons" are Venus and Vulcan (yeah, fire much?), who I believe - contrary to popular myth, but we know how things get twisted - are the epitome of the perfect polyamorous couple (I mean come on, Goddess of Love? Like she was going to be monogamous? There is NO way he could have been surprised by that...) and Vulcan and Mars are best buddies (who makes all Mars' "wonderful toys", eh?). I personally think the "magickal net" incident was a huge practical joke (the Vulcan I know is a big kid with a twisted sense of humor). Not that I could ever prove any of this empirically, but it makes a lot more sense to me than anything I've ever read by Edith Hamilton. :)

SO, I'm solitary (though I've been known to go to public ceremonies on occasion) - I *was* a member of a coven for a brief time (I was impressed by their ability to work together to pull off events), but my ex-husband is back as the High Priest of said coven (he and the woman who run it go through cycles of fighting and then working together), after pulling some underhanded stuff that landed my mate (who'd been going with me - and who everyone LOVED, 'cause they could see how happy he made me) dubbed "baneful" (yeah, we still snicker about that one), so though I'm still friends with various members, I avoid the group these days. Well, I don't avoid specifically (I showed up at their Pagan Pride Day wearing my Dorothy Morrison t-shirt that says "Who's Got The Red Shoes NOW, Bitch?" a couple of years ago), but these days I figure staying solitary is better for me anyway (I avoid politics that way, and I LOATHE politics). My mate is a SubGenius minister (yep, payed his $30 to "Bob" - it says "Rev Dude" on his nametag at work, seriously), though he's got shamanistic tendencies - we're both pretty eclectic and not real formal with anything we do, and it works incredibly well for us. And what's not to love about a religion who's stated - flaunted even - motto is "F*ck 'em if they can't take a joke!".

SO, the basics - I'm pagan, polyamorous and bisexual, living with my mate (in fact, tomorrow is the 3rd anniversary of his moving down from Kent) and our 3 cats. We're planning a handfasting (not LEGAL mind you - we're doing the legal stuff like medical power of attorney etc separately, as he doesn't feel right marrying one person until we can marry more than one, not to mention not being big on having government involved in his relationships, and having been legally married and divorced twice, I'm totally good with that - we're calling it our Big Fat Pagan Lesbian Wedding), still hammering out the details including when and where (right now the leading idea is doing it in Kent at our favorite restaraunt - Mike's Place - next May 1st). Stay tuned. :) We currently have no other partners (though I suspect the crush who's coming to visit this weekend may evolve into my having a girlfriend fairly soon - YAY!) - after the break up of our triad last summer we've really needed some time to just be together and heal.

I have 3 bio kids from my first marriage (plus the one I mentioned having placed for adoption who is 26 now, and having found each other 2 years ago, we have contact via the internet, which is awesome and more than I'd ever expected). I call my 3 the Red Headed Power of Three (RHPO3 for short) - yep, all red-heads, and the youngest is a dead ringer for Rupert Grint (who played Ron Weasley in the HP movies). They are 26 (birthdaughter), 23, 22 and 19, and they LOVE my mate and come over to game fairly frequently (and WE love my youngest's girlfriend, who I pimped out on my "Friday Friend" blog this past week). I also have 5 (soon to be 6) heart-kids - the children my ex-husband had with other women during our marriage (we had 2 relationships that we considered "wives" - he is now legally married to the 2nd). Other than the youngest (who will be 2 in September, and was born after the divorce), I was at every birth and they all call me "Mommy Lisa" - and I don't differentiate - they are just as much my kids as the ones who *physically* grew under my heart. :) And I don't differentiate with the youngest of them either - yeah, I'm not there as primary caregiver anymore (and truly, I WAS primary caregiver of all the others, even though I was the only adult in the house that was working...sigh), but they deserve my love and attention as much as the others do (thus the "soon to be 6" - yep, they're spawning again, GODS I'm glad I'm not bankrolling that anymore).

And that's me. I have one sibling - my sister (whose adoption journey I posted about on my blog yesterday - hoping I'll be able to announce that I'm finally an official Aunt soon), who is 3 years younger and still a Christian. She's a fascinating person in her own right - trust me. Both our parents are gone - my mom died in 1997, and my dad in 2006 - and yeah, they were pretty fascinating too (check out this article about my dad: news.cincinnati.com/article/20060321

- he's my hero, and my proof that you're not done 'till your dead, and even THEN you can go to med school). emoticon

So, that's my long-winded intro. :)My motto (one of them - I've got several) is "Ask me a direct question, I'll give you a direct answer - so be sure you really want to know". :) (Which I developed at work - yes, I'm out about all aspects of my life in all arenas of my life.) SO, ask away - I'm an open book. Sorry this is so long. emoticon

Hello! Reina invited me here.
I am Cynni. I live in the Netherlands with my boyfriend, 4 cats and 2 rabbits. I have been into spirituality since I was about 17. I am 28 now :)
I am a vegetarian and have my Reiki 2. I also followed a course in Witchcraft with a group of nice people. I learned a lot about the God, Goddess, Elements and so on. I call myself a Witch, since I am not Wiccan but I practice certain things according to Wiccan beliefs. Not all of it though. I just pick up things here and there and add those to my own belief system. In September I am going back to school to become a Spiritual and intuitive drawing teacher.

I'm Mary, a 19 year old college sophmore living at home with the parents. Right now, I am majoring in theatre with plans to later major in dance, computer sciences, and herbal medicine. (I've got have something to do while waiting to see my name in lights.)

I call myself a Pagan, as calling myself a Wiccan doesn't feel quite right yet. I am eclectic in my path, and as things stand right now I am solitary. I started studying on-and-off from the age of 11 or 12, and didn't call myself practicing until the summer of my 18th birthday (this summer is the one-year mark). I live with my Christian Family, so I do not feel that I can be very open with my practices. My mom and some of her family knows that I am Pagan, though I have never directly said it. I didn't choose 'my' goddess or god - they sort of chose me. My mother gave me one of my middle names to name me after the Phonecian Goddess, Tanith. At first, I didn't like Tanith. As time went on, as I grew up, I didn't dislike her as much. It wasn't until late in high school that I realized that I may never choose her, but she chose me. I remember crying when I figured this out, because in my heart I felt that she chose me out of love and that she would always love me, even if I was confused and didn't understand. (This was a big moment in my life, as I had never felt something like that before.)

I don't know if Paganism really is the way for me to go, but it's what feels the most right so far. I was raised in an Episcopalian (Christian) household. Church every Sunday with the family and the grandmother. It never felt quite right. I've never saw the point in it. Sure, the people where kinda nice, the food after the service was okay, although I have to say that the service was far too early in the morning and far too long, and why do I have to get all dress up in itchy clothes just to go sit somewhere and have someone lecture at me in words that I don't understand and why do those words make me feel bad? I was a disturbance in the church, as I kept talking and squirming and running around. As time went on, I managed to find a way to make myself believe. It wasn't until my grandmother passed away that I realized that I really didn't believe at all, and I never did. I may have felt enlightened and inspired, but it wasn't because of what was going on in the service. We stopped going to church after my grandmother passed, and that gave me a lot of time to think. I believed in Christianity because that's what I thought people wanted me to believe (and, being a people-pleaser, I went along with it), but it wasn't what I believed and I would never be able to believe in it. That's when I feriously began studying earth-based paths, and I found peace in them.

Well, now that I've written a lot (probably more then I should have), I'll leave you all with this: I hope that we can support each other on our various journeys!

Love and Light,
Mary

Hello Team!

Some of you already know me =) I am Glenda. Married, five kids, full time employee, full time student only a year away from FINALLY having a bachelors in psychology. Then it's on to a masters in counseling...just can't decide between school counselor or mental health counselor.
I've recently rekindled my journey on my spiritual path.

****Mary Beth ~~ I found a GREAT book when I first stumbled back on this path a few months ago called Paganism: an introduction to Earth-Centered religions by Joyce and River Higgenbotham. It is written almost workbook style and doesn't try to point you in any direction. Just gives you the pure basics and a starting point to finding where you belong. I also started listening to a few podcasts. My favorite has been DruidCast. It's druidic in nature but it's a lot of great information and music and interviews. Just really got me pointed in MANY directions for things I want to learn. I highly recommend it =)****

Anyway, I am glad to be here and glad to have met you all!

I'm Mary Beth. Born and raised right here in S. E. Kansas. I've been married to hubby for 36 years. We have 2 grown daughters and 4 ornery grandsons.

I'm new to the path. There are so many twists, turns and curves, I'm not sure which path I'm on for sure. I was raised Methodist. WEnt every Sunday up until my mother passed away in 1995. I was 40 years old at the time and for the first time in my life realized that I didn't HAVE to go to that church anymore. What a relief. Don't get me wrong there were parts that I liked. Love the music, loved singing, loved the way the church was decorated at christmas and loved SOME of the people. But I never fit in, never felt the connect they did and, because of that, I felt like I was doing religion wrong. Boy did I get yelled at one time when I asked "What if Jesus had been a girl" talk about the shi$ hitting the fan.
A few years ago I read something about the pagan-wiccan path, but was afraid to read farther. A couple years ago it came up again and I started reading more about it. The more I read the better I felt. It was like taking a big deep breath.
So I'm new. I don't know what my path is, I don't have a Goddess tapping me on the shoulder saying this is the way to go or a totem sticking close to show me the way. Still feeling left out here but definitely feel better about where I am.
Oh and I'm the trashy friend in the tent that stays on Reina's home page. She moves and thinks she can lose me, but me and my tent just show back up again!!!

LMAO emoticon

Hello everyone!! My name is Denise, I just turned 50 in June. I am married two kids, boy and girl, and 1 daughter-n-law. I have 4 cats and two dogs. I consider myself a witch though I've really just started learning. Right now I am a solitary.

I am into gardening, reading, cooking and crocheting. I would love to lose this other person that I've been carrying, so I joined Sparkpeople and have met the nicest people. I look forward to helping and getting help with this journey.

Hi, My name is Reina and I'm so glad your path has led you to Spark People and to Cauldron Keepers!

First, a little about me: I have been a practicing witch for a very long time. I love camping and playing catch, and with YOUR help, I'm going to get fit enough to enjoy both of those things!

I have nearly 100 lbs left to lose, so if you have a ways to go in your journey, I HEAR ya!

I've been around Spark for a long time and have made a lot of healthy and happy changes, but I haven't lost the weight yet. So for July, I'm embarking on a fresh start journey, to find my healthiest and slimmest self! I'm really excited about this new path, and I hope that along the way, I can encourage and motivate YOU, too!

Let's get to know each other!
