Don't forget to warm up before jumping. Warming up is a good habit to get into. I started j. Roping without warming up and at 200 I felt a rip go up the back of my calf. I have an Achilles heel injury that now has to be babied. So please take this bit of advice: warm up! ;)

Thank you both for your words of encouragement! And worry about my knee.... I wear a support and I have found that with my knee injury stretching prior and post jump rope session is essential otherwise the tension in my calves and ankles pulls at my knee and my leg shakes. FYI for any other knee injuries out there.

I just joined the team and spark today. I chose this team bc I recently started jump roping and I love it. I have an old knee injury and was tired of turning down any exercise which involved jumping out of fear that my knee wouldn't hold up. So I picked up my six year old's jump rope one day and thought, "oh this should be easy". Boy was I wrong I didn't even last 6 mins before I became light headed and my knee was throbbing... the next day I hobbled out of my bed and decided that the jump rope would not win as I cried and complained all the way to the kitchen to ask my hubby for ice. Well, today I am proud to say I jumped rope for 20 mins! I am addicted! And even better, my six year old and I have something in common and she is teaching (well trying anyways) me to do tricks. I look forward to meeting our goals together as a team and making new friends with common interests. Best of Luck to everyone this month!
