Greetings, all. My name is Jason and I'm new to the group. I started jumping rope a little over 3 weeks ago, and after about 5 minutes of mostly missed jumps, I thought my heart was about to stop. But my 3 year old son's laughter at every misstep and amazement with every jump made me decide to get back at it the next day (and almost every day since), despite the burning calf muscles. I'm currently starting on a program of core exercises and jump rope to increase my balance and flexibility for bowling.
Today I managed 18 minutes of mostly continuous jump rope, with only a few second pauses when I missed. But the last two minutes or so were exceptionally full of misses. I was going for 20 minutes, but when I heard my son in a most serious tone say, "Daddy, it looks like your jump rope engine is broken." I knew it was time to give the muscles a rest.
Great to have found a group of like minded jumpers.
