Thanks for the welcomes and the advice. I will keep at it!

Mini goals:

-Lose 20 lbs by Easter
-Lose 35 lbs by June 5
-vary my cardio exercises
-Goal weight: buy those jeans from travelsmith I've wanted for a long time!

Hi and welcome. I would do what works best for you. I like to keep track of time because counting jumps would get too tedious for me.

Just do what you can. Then add on. If I'm doing fit tv during the commercials I will jump rope to keep me moving. On the days i really am not in the mood to exercise I jump rope and then I'm able to get started. Good Luck,

But I want to try it as a new cardio exercise. I bought my jumprope today and did a whole whopping 3 minutes before I thought I would croak. Does anyone have tips on getting started? Just keep at it? I notice people mention how many jumps they did -- is it better to count time or count jumps, or both? Thanks for your patience with my questions!
