I count/ed jumps. I haven't jumped in a while, so I don't know how I will do it this time.
For me, there was always the ability to stop, but only when I got to a good stopping point. I have always been able to keep up with the number of jumps, for some reason. And if not, I go back to the number I remember.
I think I would be too tempted to stop if I counted minutes. The other reason for me to count jumps is that counting also helps me to keep my rhythm, which has much to do with target heart rate.
