Hello, my name is Sheryl, I am from Florida. I am very interested in incorporating the Mediterranean Way into my life style. We all know this is the healthiest way to eat, however we are used to a more American diet. I am hoping to find a way to merge the two.

I've tried every type of diet on the books. Atkins worked great with me, but I just can't go there anymore.
Except for not being able to eat Gluten, this way of eating fits right in with how I was raised to eat and how I wish to eat.
I am adjusting it to my intolerance of gluten and only eating 100 carbs a day. I'm doing more veggies than I've done in years and getting in at least 2 fruits a day. My stomach doesn't handle fruit too well.
I'm glad to be here and very interested in more recipes and getting to know you all.
Some background personally. In 2000 I weighed 400+ pounds. I had two weigh loss surgeries the RNY and a DS revision. I now weigh in at 253 after a 60lb gain since 2009. My lowest weight was 190.
I've been following some recipes from the book "Mediterranean Prescription Diet". Pretty good book

“You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend.” - Bruce Lee
