Hi Denny,
I have a little sweet tooth now and then and when I add a little treat I l lose weight. Go figure!

I also make sure I eat lots of veggies during lunch time just to make sure I get enough.

Losing weight slowly is ok. I just hope I can stay on track!

New to Team,
Hi, checking in. I was trying Atkins but my doctor and family wasn't happy. I heard about this diet and read up on it and some variations. I like veggies and fruit but I love ice-cream, pie, cake, chips and the like. They also weren't on Atkins either. I can on this diet substitute fresh fruit for them and get by fairly easy where that was a problem on Atkins. Only problem in a week and a half I lost 10 LBS on Atkins and so far in 4 days I haven't lost anything but like my choices and have easily stayed under my Nutrition Stats on Spark. I usually walk 3 miles when the weather permits so I hope to help a Team Goal.

Hi and welcome! I'm glad you found the MW and hope that it's helpful for you. You like it for the same reasons that I do....it doesn't tell you "no" on much. "No" is an ugly word ;) but it's a necessary evil.

Welcome to the team! I'm sure you have already heard that this is a healthy lifestyle and easy to follow!

I started this way of eating after my doctor told me I had high cholesterol and he wanted to put me on medication. I asked him if I couldn't try diet and exercise first and he suggested the Mediterranean way of eating for me to try because it is high in Omega 3's.

Within 3 months my cholesterol numbers lowered enough for him to let me try another 3 months, and another. I've been able to get the numbers down with this diet and exercise.

Many of our members follow this diet to the "tee" but I modify it with less gluten. There are really no "No's" in this diet, except butter, and everything else is in moderation. The most important thing is to get your OMEGA-3's, PORTION CONTROL, and EXERCISE!

Exercise is at the bottom of the Med. Pyramid for a good reason, because it will be the key to your success!

Hi, I am 55 yrs old and looking for a better way of eating. I know that I have high blood pressure and just found out that my family is genic for having heart diease(by pass surgery for 4 family members;one is my father who just had quadruple by pass just 2 weeks ago).
I like carbs and don't want to give them up altogether. Reading about this lifestyle has made me feel this is for me.
