Welcome to the team! I'm sure you have already heard that this is a healthy lifestyle and easy to follow!
I started this way of eating after my doctor told me I had high cholesterol and he wanted to put me on medication. I asked him if I couldn't try diet and exercise first and he suggested the Mediterranean way of eating for me to try because it is high in Omega 3's.
Within 3 months my cholesterol numbers lowered enough for him to let me try another 3 months, and another. I've been able to get the numbers down with this diet and exercise.
Many of our members follow this diet to the "tee" but I modify it with less gluten. There are really no "No's" in this diet, except butter, and everything else is in moderation. The most important thing is to get your OMEGA-3's, PORTION CONTROL, and EXERCISE!
Exercise is at the bottom of the Med. Pyramid for a good reason, because it will be the key to your success!
