Nice to have you on the team. Perimenapouse certainly adds to the challenge of losing weight. I started at 46, and now at 50 I can say that it's a battle to just maintain my weight, nevermind loose it. I'm focusing on make healthy food choice and daily exercise. My hope is that if I live a healthy life then my weight will eventually come off as a bonus.

I'm new to Spark People forums. I get the daily spark in my email and I always find the information interesting and most times helpful or appropriate for me. I read an article today and saw this forum and knew it would be good for me to follow.

I was recently diagnosed with perimenopause, I'm 45 and I totally didn't see this coming. But it completely explains the additional 60 pounds I gained last year! After MANY discussions with my doctor, I know it's going to take dedication and patience to get those pounds off. My goal isn't going to be measured in pounds lost per week or how many days in a row I didn't eat unhealthy food. I'm going to measure success by staying positive and on track. I'm going to make healthy food decisions and *try* to get my lazy butt on the exercise machines every day.

I hoping to find motivation and support here, and in return, providing the same for others.
