In GOD We Trust Choose To Lose "If you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired." -General George S Patton, U.S.Army, 1912 Olympian
Welcome back. The site can be temperamental; my daughter (also on Spark) suggested that anytime you get lost of confused, go back to your start page as most links are on there. It seems to work pretty well.
As for age, I am 66 and fighting a new round of an old weight battle. My husband, who follows my lead and is not on Spark, will be turning 78 this week. He has lost around 10-15 pounds in the last 5 months. Yes, it seems slow, but it's better than gaining.
Hang in there - this program really helps if you're willing to do the work. But there is a reason we are on the SLOWEST Loser team . . .

Oh my, yes, this site is so huge and difficult to navigate! This is like my third time back to it - but it gets easier each time, lol! I know there is a TON of support here, but I am still learning how to best access it - so I am right there with ya, Marv!
Nice to have you on the team and congrats on choosing to do something healthy for yourself. Remember it's not how many times you fall down, but how many times you get up.... as long as you're living and breathing, this journey is never over. That's why SP is about a healthy lifestyle and not about a diet.
Well, I'm knocking on 70 and having a go at losing weight again, after many tries and many tribulations and false starts. I know it is harder as you "mature" but we can still make a difference, it just takes a little longer.

Yes, what is it about trying to lose weight in our 60s. It is not easy!

Hi All, new "again" to SparkPeople. Find that I need to lose and just haven't been able to do it myself. Looking forward to the support this team seems to have for it's members, as well as offering support to those you want and need it. Being almost 63 is a challenge in itself when trying to lose weight, but I have hope. Thanks for letting me be a part of your group.
