In GOD We Trust Choose To Lose "If you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired." -General George S Patton, U.S.Army, 1912 Olympian
Hi and welcome to the team. I am also 66 so I know your struggles with getting the weight off. I seem to plateau for 3-4 weeks at nearly every pound I lose. But the key is to stay with the program because the losing does occur! I have also lost 12 pounds - still have about 25-30 to go. Just keep on Sparking!
I started this journey when I got back from a three week trip to Hong King and China and had lost six pounds. That was at the beginning of October. Good eating (maybe I should start eating with chop sticks again) and lots of walking on a daily basis (actually I do that with my Fitbit) during those three weeks seemed to really work. And I wasn't even trying to lose the weight. But since I've been back, even working out and eating right, I've gained some of it back. Yikes!
I'm 66 and I know it's a little harder to lose those pounds. My weight loss goal is to lose about 12 pounds. Not too much, but I'm thinking the hardest to lose. These days my motto is "Belly Be Gone". My clothes are fitting better and I feel more toned, so I know I'm on the right track. And I'm back in my size 12 jeans from the size 14. But the weight is still there. Hmmmm...
I know it will be good to change my mindset to "slower will win the race".
I thank you in advance for your advise and support! Have a great day everyone!
