Hi everyone! I'm new to this team. My user name is Kaytie22 (a nickname taken from my maiden name) and my given name is Marcia. I am originally from Omaha, NE, spent a few years in Phoenix and I've been a resident of Illinois for many years.
Carolyn0107, one of your team leaders, has mentioned my story before in one of your forums when she referred to one of my blogs. Carolyn and I went to high school together and we reconnected on Facebook. I also saw her in an advertisement supporting SparkPeople and decided to see what it was all about. March 2 will be my 2-month SparkVersary and I've really enjoyed it.
As the saying goes, "slow and steady wins the race." I reached my all-time highest weight in March 2008, s-l-o-w-l-y lost some weight in 2009, stayed the same until September 2010 and then decided that I was really going to lose the weight and follow a healthy lifestyle. I've lost about 60 pounds since 2008 and have about 15 to go. I'm a shorty so I really don't carry all that weight very well. Most of all, it was not healthy and I made the decision to stop fooling around and make it happen this time. I've lost and regained a lot of weight over the years but I really want to get to a healthy BMI level and stay there. My biggest challenge has always been to incorporate exercise into my weight loss program.
I've been hearing about your team through Carolyn and received a link to her latest blog announcing the Spring Challenge. The winter has been rough here as it has in many areas of the country. I'm really looking forward to Spring and this challenge seems the perfect way to prepare for the sunny and warmer days ahead. I also look forward to meeting the members of this team as we work toward our goals together.
