Hi everyone! I started my weight loss journey at 220 in AUG. (5 months post-partum and at my pre-pregnancy weight) I'm happy to have the baby weight off but upset to still be at my current weight. I finally got down to 200 a few weeks ago :) but I started to gain the weight back with the little bit of slack. I finally decided to slow my goal down to .5lbs a week instead of 2lbs a week. I just wanted to say I and I wish everyone the best of Luck

I'm Marsha. I've kept off 80 pounds for almost 4 years now, but I spent all of 2012 wanting to be back where I was in 2011, fluctuating about 6 pounds below my current weight range. So my goal now is to lose 6 pounds in 12 months. I think joining the Slowest Loser Team makes a whole lot of sense for me!!!

Loved the recent blog and the goal to lose one pound per month for 16 months. I'm very competitive. I'll be an even SLOWER loser!!!!

I'm Laura Lee from central Iowa--yes, we're just digging out yesterday's blizzard and travel conditions are still trecherous.

I've been overweight since 4th grade. I joined Weight Watchers several times over the years, but I couldn't seem to stick with it for the long haul. I've lost 35 lbs since becoming a member of SP just over 2-1/2 years ago. I look forward to being a member of this team.

Wow...after reading that fantastic Mayan Apocalypse blog...I had to join this team!

Hi Everybody...my name is Rochelle and I'm currently living in San Diego. Over the years I've lost weight, kept it off for many years, gained weight, kept it off for a few years, and I now find myself heavier than I've ever been before. Only this time, the rules appear to have changed. My over 40 body does NOT want to cooperate by losing even a few stingy pounds. I've tried and tried...and I will continue to try...slow and steady will win the race this time around because it has to. It's my only option at this point.

Fear not! I'm determined!

This looks like a group for me. I've been somewhat successful losing weight this year, but it is S L O W. I need to stay committed, and it can be hard when the pounds drop off slowly. I know I could make better choices that would help to speed up the weight loss.

Hi!
Not new to SP, but just saw this team! Since 2009, I have lost 50 pounds, gained 15 back and am now in the process of getting it gone again. This year has definitely been a turtle year, and still have at least 10 pounds to go, so I'd love company!!
I am becoming a runner (well, I guess technically I have become one) - SP has inspired that and it is now my stress release (when I rely on it instead of food).
My biggest challenge is consistency... I do really well for a week (or a month) and then something happens that throws me off and I have a hard time bouncing back.

I have belonged to this team for several months but had pretty much given up on my weight loss efforts. In July, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had surgery and radiation. I'm doing well now The one thing I have control over to reduce my risk of getting cancer again is to lose weight. I started back at the gym December 3 and have been recording my food every day since then. I have lost 2 pounds and so far I'm doing okay. I would like to lose one pound per week but I will be happy if I just have more energy and a bit more interest in things around me.

Hello,

I have five grown children and 10 grands. I began gaining weight after my second baby and gained more more with each of the others. Since then I have gained and lost and gained and lost. A year ago I lost 37 pounds only to gain it all back and more. Yep, I 'm a yoyo! I would rather be a tortoise, so here I am. I have bad knees and have difficulty walking, but I can manage to take out our 9 month old puppy and I'm getting better with walking him. We've only had him a few weeks. I enjoy aqua aerobics and tai chi and after the rush of Christmas I hope to get back into a regular schedule with these exercises. I like Spark People so far. It's fun, educational, challenging, and supportive. I have tried other weight loss programs. and I think this one is the best so far. I'm hoping it will work for me and I can stay here as a success, offering my support and experience to others.

Don't you know a watched pot never boils? Don't focus on the scale. Don't even weigh yourself for a month if it bothers you. Your body will start telling you that things are changing soon enough.

Also, be sure to weigh yourself at the same time and on the same day only once a week when you do get on the scale. Your weight can fluctuate several pounds from morning to evening. The best time is first thing in the morning, after your potty run.

VICKI - Oh I know I gain a couple pounds on my period, but I'm not on that right now, either. I like eating healthy, I like doing strength and cardio, so hopefully it'll soon catch up with me.

If it's not sodium, it could be hormonal. As long as you're doing all the right things, don't worry so much about the number on the scale but more of your overall health. The scale will show your progress in time. But your clothes will tell faster, or even the tape measurer.

I am such a tortoise, so I thought this group was for me. I started Spark 15 days ago, am hitting 5/6 nutritional goals + water intake every day (sometimes I get 6/6) and am working out and have had a TWELVE DAY PLATEAU. The scale hasn't moved a tenth of a pound in 12 days. So I think I qualify, yes?

I had left all my teams and sparkpeople due to computer issues. But I'm back now and hope I have no more computer problems.
I'm working to lose enough weight to be comfortable in my own skin and regain my energy level.

Hello! While I am new to this team, I have been on Spark since last February and am at goal weight. That said, maintenance is tricky, and I am very sure it is important to continue to practice all I have learned and am still learning. Meanwhile do you notice that I miss spelled "Tortise" when I made up my site name? Oops. Happy to be here and loved the post today on letting go. I work at that every day.
