Welcome to the group Barbara...some of us have to
work at it a little harder due to one problem or
other, but we will get there just the same.

Hi Barbara & Welcome! The journey to a more healthy lifestyle can be long for some of us due to slow metabolism. We will get there it just takes us a little longer! Happy Sparking.

Welcome to the team! You will find that fat and old definitely do not go together!

Hello to you and welcome, no please don't say it - fat and old doesn't go together . I sometimes feel the same way. Isn't it something, men lose the weight so quickly and women go through so much trouble lol.
But I agree with you this is a great team and I'm sure you'll get lots more welcome notes as the days go by.
All the best for the weekend.

This looks like the right group for me as well. I'm 49 and weight loss is no longer automatic, the way it was through my early 40s. I've been doing this program since July, and have lost or gained half a pound most weeks. I realize consistency is more important than ever, and I'm working on that. I've also set different goals than weight loss--maintain a 10-day streak of eating the correct number of calories. Anyway, enjoying the journey and I'm glad to be here!
Funny how different it is for men and women. Don't let that get you down. I have also gone forever without losing a pound, but one day, BAM, a few pounds are gone.Just stick with it, and it will happen. Welcome to the team!
Dress the part, act the part, suck it up!
Have you checked out the calorie differential tool here on Spark? It is under my tools, reports. That is what helped me to reach my goal weight. Check it out.
Remember this is not a diet program it is healthy living. Everytime I tried to diet I was hungry all the time.
“There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.”
Hi Folks, The slowest loser team is just right for me as that is just what I am!!!. I am 67 and been on Sparks since Jun 25 - my goal to reach 149 by Sep 21. Goal date is looming and my doubts are creeping in now. I get stuck so much - have tried less food, more food, more exercise only to wake up to the same number on scale!
Good thing is I have lost 13 lbs and continue to maintain that loss. My husband is dieting too by association and has lost more that me. I dont track him just me but we eat mostly the same stuff. I have no control over what happens after I go to bed and he is near the fridge LOL.
I still work parttime and we are active with lawn bowling all summer, been camping a couple of times, and garden a lot. We walk every day.and I use one of my many exercise videos a couple of times a week (alone I might add) maybe that's not enough. Really am wanting to get back into a size 14 and feel healthier and younger. Fat and old seem to go together, hum? Looking forward to being part of this group. Barbara
