Welcome! You should definitely check out the fitness link with the strength training exercises. There are some fairly easy exercises on there - which I have found help a lot when I am not feeling much like exercising - like calf rocking and seated leg extensions. Sometimes all it takes is to get started...

Hi Dave. I'm happy to meet someone else with fibro. Not happy that you have it, of course, but nice to know I'm not alone here with the fibro. I've been on disability since December 23rd. I see my doctor in a couple of weeks and will find out if I'm going back to work or not. Of course, my former job has been filled in by someone new so I will have to start the job hunting process all over again. Honestly, I'm not sure if I'm up for that, physically. I've had a lot of med changes and I think that might be one of the reasons for my ravenous appetite!

Welcome to the team! I have realized along my journey that everyday is a new day, and if you get hung up on one day of not eating right, then you will give up. I just make better choices the next day, if I ate bad the day before! If you feel you have to have a dessert, have it! Just try and cut out a little bit in one of your meals during your day, so you don't go over what your calories and fat are for the day! Don't deprive yourself too much, or it will make it harder to stick with your plan! You can do this!! We are all here to support you! I just joined this team a couple of days ago, and love the support!! I have been with SP since 2008 and love it! Keep it up, and you will see results! emoticon

Welcome! One thing that I've found with my sweet tooth is that sometimes I fall harder if I try to completely remove the sugar from my diet. If I instead take a teeny bite of my craving and then move onto something else (like my 8 cups of water)I can take care of the craving so that it doesn't overwhelm me. Hang in there and keep focused - you're gonna do great!

HI Heavenlyrn, I too have fibromyalgia and a few other health issues but have lost fourty pounds since last July. I had wanted to make it 50 but so be it. I have done this by walking the dog, and doing Leslie Sansone dvd's This is a wonderful site to keep you on your toes, I love the nutrition tracker, I was never sure before how much I was eating or wasn't eating enough. I've been stalled for a couple of months and just found out that my vitamin D is very low so hopefully this will explain the pain I have and the low energy levels. This is a great place to make friends, meet new people and have fun. Welcome to the Spark emoticon emoticon

I just wanted to introduce myself. I just joined Sparkpeople this week and I actually gained 2 pounds in the last couple of days! I've had a sweet tooth this week and haven't been able to stop eating! But, I found as I'm navigating this site that I've become more motivated. So, instead of heading for the Oreos this morning, I had a bowl of cheerios. Then I immediately came to the site and entered what I had eaten. I also logged in the walk I took with the dog. This will not be an easy journey for me because I have fibromyalgia and other health issues and exercising is not an easy task. But, I'm hoping that, with this site and the people on it, I will be able to stay focused and lose weight.......slowly!!
