Congratulations on the exam! That had to be stressful but you didn't gain and you did exercise. You are a winner and NOT sleeping. Just resting up for round 2.
Forget the scale and look in your closet. It's your clothes that tell the real story. I've been playing with the same weight for months, it's still there, but I'm putting it into a size smaller and buttoning up easily.
Hold tight and soon your numbers will drop like a rock.
Your ticker says that you have lost 40 pounds. How about looking at how far you have come, you are doing great.
Make a visual - do you have a five gallon bucket? Full of water, they weigh 40 pounds, try carrying that thing around for a couple minutes. No bucket, how about a 40 pound bag of dog food slung over your shoulder. After a few minutes of that, you'll feel so light, you will be skipping around.
Sweet thing about this is, it will not only make you feel better about how far you've come, it will keep you focused on continuing your journey.
I once heard plateaus were areas where the body had been before and they wanted that comfort zone. Keep prying at those little catchers and they will eventually let go and you will be headed for the next plateau.
Also keep in mind, the slower it comes off, the longer it will stay off.
And finally, if you feel you need to do something, review the basics, are you doing everything you should be. If you are, cut yourself some slack - that 40 pounds has been an excellent start to reaching your healthy self!

Well congrats on passing the exam! I know what you mean about sleeping cause some weeks I feel the same. I get so frustrated with how slow I'm loosing too but I've decided that as long as I'mn exercising and following my meal plan EVENTUALLY the weight loss thing will catch up!

to the team. Slow is the thing that frustrates me, and have been researching because of my Hypothyroid. I have learned that the calories need to be adjusted from 1200 to 1500 and then 2000, then recycle back to 1200 and this again. Curves has a good program and the Thyroid Diet also follows along this line. Adjusting you levels of 1200 for 7 days, 1500 for 21 days, then 2000 till gain 3 pounds, and start over again.

Hi and welcome to the team! You know, this week a blew away my half pound goal by losing 1.8 pounds. How did I do it? I didn't exercise more and I didn't eat that well though not that bad either. I truly think I lost weight because I stopped trying so hard to lose weight! It sounds silly, I know, but I was always so stressed to post that 1-2 pound loss! And then to catch up with my goal or make up for that gain! Stress stress STRESS! So I say to you do your best, even if it's not perfect. Don't stress, don't worry, set small goals and you will succeed!
Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.

I am not just slow...I am sleeping!!! CRAP!! I wish that this was moving a TEENY bit faster...What I AM proud of is that I met another goal of passing my certified emergency nurse exam!! I have been exercising this week and I will continue that...things will start to turn around ...I KNOW IT!!! I will be Ok...slow but sure...baby steps!!
