Good morning, my name is Carole. I have always been in very good shape & very active until...I married my 2nd husband who has type II diabetes. I have always eaten healthy whole foods, my dad always had a garden, caught out own seafood, raised our own chickens & rarely ever ate fried food. My husband's food choices are things I would & never did eat (biscuits & gravy, burgers, french fries, cakes & sweets, fried foods, pizza loaded with meat only), his idea of breakfast makes me cringe! Biscuits & gravy, hash browns, ham, bacon, sausage, 2-3 eggs, pancakes, toast with jelly (i actually like toast & jelly maybe once or twice a year). I have been trying to show him how to eat his fav foods but in healthier versions...that lasts a day or 2. It scares me so much watching how his blood sugar is out of control, extreme lows & high readings.
For the past 13 years, he tries to cook for me (big mistake). He does the grocery shopping & brings home "junk" foods. He also LOVES to eat out.
I went to college in 2007 (when the weight really started going up). Finally in Feb 2014 I couldn't get into my jeans one day, I thought I had the wrong pair...nope, right pair! I went right to the scale & was shocked to see 199.5!!!! So for Valentines Day, I told my husband if he really loved me, he would get me fruits & veggies instead of candy (he did). Since then, I have decided that he has had diabetes for 15 years, he refuses to eat healthy, only checks his BS when I tell him to, so I decided to just worry about getting back to the foods I was raised on (and cooked). The weight from consuming fresh healthy foods is really paying off. (I still try to make his food healthier without him knowing it, I can't control the junk he eats from the vending machines at his work).
I just love this challenge, my sons don't want to be diabetic & they are totally on board & starting to say "no" to his way of eating.
This is a wonderful idea for a team challenge!

Hi, my name is Jo. I am 23 years old. I am a mother of one rambunctious toddler. I do not want my son to develop the poor life habits I did growing up, and I do not want him to face the struggle with weight and self image that has plagued me for so long. I've made the decision to live a better life, and the best way to do that is to make changes.
I'm currently living with my ex, his father, his sister, and my son. I want all of us to get healthier.

Hi my name is Jill and I am a mother of 2, ages 13 and 9. I find my family watches to much tv and plays to many video games at the same time eating out. My husband works away several weeks at a time and I find this depressing and overwhelming at times. So I have decided to make some serious changes. During the month of March I focused only on me. I recently turned 35 and seemed to wake up and realize my life is getting shorter as the days go by and I want to live to the absolute fullest. I want to be healthy, active and do as many things as I can and now it's time to add in my kids to a lifestyle change. I was so happy to come across this challenge today as April is now upon us and there is no time for anymore excuses.

Hi, my name is Rachael. I know all the steps, tools, ways to eat healthy. I even love to cook. I also am lucky enough to have been able to teach my children to love healthy foods, i.e. veggies, fruits, lean meats, etc. But somehow, we always end up back into a rut of eating out or ordering in. I get tired after work or frustrated at the grocery store and just say screw it.
I need to teach my self to not give in. To not be lured by the ease and tempting aromas (which are actually misleading because the food never tastes as good as it smells) from restauarants. I also need to get my kids in the habit of eschewing that "fast" food. They love healthy eats, but they also love those nasty ones.

Hello all! My name is Julie and I am a momma to 5 beautiful children (13, 10, 8, 6, 2). Needing very much to get myself healthier so I can be a good example to my children and show them that healthy is fun. My oldest daughter is also battling obesity and I feel like it is due in part to some of my poor decisions on eating habits that have not guided her to not be healthier. I accepted this challenge for myself as well as for my family because as the main person with my children (my husband is a truck driver and gone most of the week), it falls to me to make almost all the nutritional decisions and I need to be making GOOD choices! Hoping this challenge will give me some ideas and motivation to do just that!

Hi, I'm Vanessa. I'm mother of 4 (17, 12, 11, 6) and a step mother of 4 more (10, 9, 6, 4). It gets pretty exciting around our house on the weekends when we have the step-children. I am changing my lifestyle to be more healthy and working on incorporating all of this into my kids daily lives as well. I just need some tips and info from others who are struggling with the same thing I am. Happy to be here!

Hello everyone. My name is Christine. I have four kids ages 8, 5, 4 and 2. My life was so different when I only had two. I used to be super active and hardly watched tv. Now I never go outside. It is so hard to take these guys anywhere. That has to change now. My health is slipping away. I am only 31 but it feels as though I am 60. Being 60 pounds over weight doesn't help either. Baby steps sound perfect. I hope to grow and challenge myself with this team. I look forward to the help of other dedicated families too!
Here's to staying on target!

I joined SparkPeople to learn how to manage my life, to face the challenges of health issues associated with a chronic illness that is destroying my body. I feel that Spark People saved my sanity through education. The articles and video's, the challenge teams, tracking my food and exercise puts me back into control of how I live day to day.
I am married, have grown children (3), grand-kids(4),cats(5),and a dog. We live in Reno, Nevada and love it here. I am co-leader of “Living with Hepatitis C” and am in stage 4 of the virus. I love to laugh, form strong friendships, and to stay positive, as much as possible

Hello, I'm Heather. I just recently joined Spark People to get my weight under control and thought this would be a good time to jump start my family's healthy eating habits as well. My boyfriend as steadily gained weight since getting out of the Navy 2 years ago and my 4 year old son, while at a perfectly health weight, thinks that if he doesn't have a snack every hour he will starve to death. So hopefully by starting this as a family, we can help set a better example for him.

Hi, I'm Gina and I have been apart of Spark People for a while now and I never thought to include my family on my journey. My husband has been battling his weight for a while since he quit smoking but I didn't want to put too much pressure on him since he quit for me and I know how hard that is. I think some of these changes will improve our relationship as well as our health. We have an almost 3 year old son, who is very healthy and active and we should follow our guidelines for him more for ourselves. He eats all well balanced meals and loves his vegetables. He also is extremely active and loves to run around and play soccer. Since we both work full time, our time at home is spend doing chores or watching TV to unwind. I hope we can incorporate some of these first week changes without too much resistance. I look forward to a healthier lifestyle.

I'm Jaemi and in my effort to make myself healthier I think it's important that my family be healthy. We have 1 15 year old and while he is tall and slim I know that this can change in the future and I want to teach him a healthy way of life so he doesn't have to battle his weight when he gets older. I think this is a good first step in our journey to be a healthy family.

Hello, I'm Robin and have been a SparkPeople member for a few years. It is a great way to stay committed to a healthier lifestyle. This time around, my husband and preteen son are participating with me. As a family, we are now more mindful of our caloric intake and what a serving size is. We are all exercising consistently and working on our fitness. Of course, my son is "allergic" to anything green, but he has been expanding his food options and is trying new things. We've been working on our overall health for a about a month now, and everyday we learn something new to keep us on track. This group is very appealing and looks like a great way to stay motivated.

Hi everyone! My name is Taylor. I am married and have two children ages 4 and 2. Believe it or not, I have done fairly well providing them a healthy diet, but cannot seem to do the same for myself. For example, they get all their fruit and veggie servings each day, but my husband and I try not to eat any to save money. I also limit their snacking, but not my own. *SIGH* I am hoping this challenge will give me fresh ideas for helping meet their needs, while enforcing the need to take care of myself.

Hi everyone! My name is Courtney. I'm married and have 3 children ages 8, 17 months, and 1 month. Since having my daughter last year, my energy has been low and my eating habits are poor, as are my family's. I'm actively seeking a challenge to help my family eat healthier and be more active as we are all pretty sedentary. I'm looking forward to participating in this challenge!

Hi ya'll! I joined Sparkpeople in 2006 and logged in almost everyday through 2009. Then I moved in August of 2009 and there were alot of changes in life that led to me letting myself go and gaining back 22 plus 10 more lbs. I finally hit the "I'm ready" mark and I am back! This is the first challenge I have EVER signed up for..and I love that it involves not just myself but my whole family.

Am a mama of two boys, 15 and 8. Both active kiddos but mom and dad could improve and encourage them both more. Less TV, better foods, healthier overall options. Younger one loves his carbs. Excited for this challenge, am planning my grocery list now. :)

Hi I'm Julia. I am a stay at home mom to 2 boys, 8 and 6. I want to be a better role model for my family and I want us all to exercise/play more as a family. My older son is heavy in part because he is diagnosed with dyspraxia, a motor planning problem which makes it difficult for him to be as physically active as a typical child. My younger son is thin, but picky and won't eat many vegetables or fruits. I figure this will be a great way to get tips and tricks from people who are also struggling to improve their own and their families well being.

I'm Amanda and a stay at home mommy to three busy kiddos aged 5, 4 and 2. My hubby commutes long hours and isn't home much (though he wants to be) and I need the extra motivation to kick things into gear for our family. Daddy's on board in theory, but all the driving and all the sitting at the office rips apart "theory" on a daily basis. Here's hoping that positive changes in me will encourage positive changes in him so that we can be ROCK STARS for our babies!

My name is Kimberly, and I am the lucky mom to a fantastic 10 year old. We typically do well when it comes to staying healthy, but we have lost focus in the chaos of the last few weeks. I really want a way to get us refocused on healthy priorities and get him more engaged in the choices we make. He was almost excited about starting this until I told him we were limiting screen time. He is going to give it a try though.
We often find that I am relying on fast food when time gets tight with activities, and we don’t get active if the day has been too long. He gets plenty of fast food every time he sees his dad, so I really don’t need to be letting him have it with me. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and helping get those great choices back in to our lives.

Hello, my name is Angie and I'm new to the Healthy Family Makeover Challenge. I am married and we have 3 children, ages 9, 6 and 4. I was always a very lean, "skinny" person until I had my first child. I have really struggled with my weight since then. I never had to exercise and could eat anything I wanted and never gained weight. Now, I swear, I just have to LOOK at food and I'm heavier! LOL But it is extremely frustrating!
I have self-esteem issues and have been unhappy with my body for a long time; I never realized how much being overweight can affect your life. I'm tired of feeling this way, and want to change myself (not only on the outside, but inside and how I view myself too!)
My oldest child is not very interested in anything but video games and television (even though we limit time on both) and over the course of 3 years has started gaining too much weight. He is short for his age, which doesn't help. But he's very inactive. He used to get picked on for his weight, and also for being short. I've seen how this has affected his self-esteem (even though he won't often admit it, it does bother him.)
I wanted to find a way that I can work on my goals of losing weight and encourage him to be more active, and then I found this board! I love the tips/articles on here, and I'm very excited to start! My other children (and my husband) don't have weight issues, but being more active is good for everybody! So I'm very, very glad I found this board. :)
I'm one of those people who needs constant motivation, and I think my son is too. So I think this will be perfect for us--what could be better motivation than your family as your workout buddies?
Good luck to everyone else doing this challenge, and I'm looking forward to making the positive life changes and getting (and keeping) my family healthy!!

Over the past while I have noticed my not just my weight being an issue but also my health. I want to know that I am going to be around to take care of my three kids and husband. I also want to make better choices so that my kids make better choices. my weight is 184 and my goal is 140 I have so far lost 12 lbs, I was 196, and hopefully will continue this and not quit thats my biggest fear (Giving UP)

My name is Sarah. I recently became a SAHM. I have three children 10,5, and 9 months. Since becoming a SAHM I wanted to focus more on living a healthier lifestyle for my children as well as for myself. My husband was recently promoted to a new position which means he is gone Sunday thru Thursday and then comes home for the remainder of the week. I have been doing a lot of research on healthy foods and I have used the tracker which I have seen immediately where I am flawed. I have made some other changes such as getting outside more and playing with the kids. Signing up for our local gardening initiative and just overall getting more involved. I am still trying to find a rhythm and getting organized and I know I am going to have my days. I just hope that when coming here I can find the boost I need or someone I can relate to. Cheers!

Hi! I'm Michele. I'm a 42-year-old mom with four children ages 3,5,8, and 10 -- and a husband who travels on business Monday through Friday each week. Solo parenting during the week, I frequently feel overwhelmed, and in an effort to get something on the table FAST, I tend to rely too heavily on pre-packaged stuff to put on the table. My kids don't have any health or weight problems yet, but I'd like to KEEP it that way by encouraging more healthy nutrition and fitness habits for all of us. Two of my kids are fairly adventurous eaters who will at least TRY just about anything, and two are extremely picky and refuse just about anything except the same foods over and over again (*bang head*). I love the focus of this team, and I'm looking forward to getting to know the people here!

Hi I am a stay at home mum to four children aged 9, 7, 4 and 1. I try to make healthy meals as much as possible but at the weekend we tend to eat more junk. I struggle getting fruit and veg into my eldest and I have to say they eat A LOT of biscuits!!!. None of them are overweight but my four year old is at the very top of his healthy weight range. He LOVES food and always wants seconds. He is the complete opposite to my eldest who barely eats anything!!
My hubbie is pretty easy, he will eat whatever I put in front of him :)
Looking forward to getting to know you all and getting some ideas to make our family more healthy :)

Hello everyone! I have been a member of SparkPeople for a little over 5 years now. I'm married and have 2 teenage daughters, ages 14 & 18. My 18 year old has Bipolar I Disorder and has been struggling with her weight for years due to all the medications she is on. I've been up and down on the weight loss roller coaster but right now I'm at my highest weight ever and I need to get it under control. I want my family to get involved as well though because it's tough doing it alone. I've done it alone many times but it's hard to stick to something when there is no one there working with you. So now we have all decided to get healthy together. Not just me, my husband and children but my brother also. He lives with me and is going to be joining the same gym as us so that he can workout with us. We have already starting incorporating salads into every dinner and eating fruit for snacks during the day. We also all eat at the table as a family which we started on January 1st this year. Before that only the children ate at the table and my husband and I ate in front of the TV. So we have started on this journey but now it's time to really get serious. I hope this team helps us make some great changes that we all can stick to.

Hi, I am new to the team. I am Marylou and am married with 2 children, ages 12 and 9. I have been slowly revamping what the kids eat and take for snacks. Neither have a weight problem, and I want to keep it that way. I am most concerned for my daughter (the 12 yr old) who weighs about 140 lbs and is about 5'4 or 5'5". She is very active but often makes bad food choices. She's gotten better about eating what I cook (which is always healthy). It's the stuff in between that gets her. Fortunately, she just got braces so there is no soda or candy in the house. I think this is a good time to do this challenge to clean house. My son is about 4'10" and weighs 70 lbs, so no worries there. He also is a much healthier eater. When he was little we had to tell him he had to eat his pizza before he could have his broccoli. If we order a side of steamed vegetables, he fights us for them..so now we order him one.
You want me to do something... tell me I can't do it. - Maya Angelou.
Hi, I'm new to the team. I had a bit of a wake-up call at my 4 year-old daughter's well check-up this week, to find that her weight gain is a bit higher than average. My approach to eating is that I cook healthy meals (or at least as best I can), and it is up to my daughter to decide whether and how much of those meals she will eat. But I think that we have a lot of room for improvement in exercise and active play- hoping to get outside more as we get closer to spring!

Hi, I'm new to Spark and would like any help in getting my kids involved with my journey to lose fat and gain muscle. All three of them do well with excercise, but their food choices could use some help. No one but me is overweight, but I want to make sure they have healthy eating habits established while they are still young. We need to focus on less sugar and less processed foods. Thanks!!

I've just joined the Healthy Family Makeover Challenge and am excited to begin. I hope to keep myself on track as well as inspire my son and husband to increase their awareness of what they're eating and find what motivates them to get active. For myself, I enjoy kickboxing, yoga and the treadmill. The best thing for my son so far has been Tae Kwon Do, and my husband's a golfer but isn't interested in much else. A big thing we have going for us is that we all like vegetables; I just need to keep it creative to avoid boring the guys with repetitive meals.

Hi, My name is Beckie. I am from Nevada, I am recently married (AGAIN) and have 9 kids. My husband and my kids are pretty active, but I have never been a very physical person. I did dance as a kid, but that's about the extent of it. Right now we try to go to the park or for a walk or something at least once a week. I guess it's time to step it up a notch and get moving.
Always a better tomorrow...

Hi! I'm Sara - a busy Mom of six kids in Washington State. I weighed 247 after muy lasy child and would like to get back down below 200 at a minimum. My hubby has many health problems so cooking is quite challenging. Our kids are 10, 10, 8, 8, 6 and almost 2. I'm still nursing the youngest although I think time is about up. (Maybe after this flu bug goes away). 2 of our kids only live with us on weekends, summer and holidays.

Hi everyone.. I'm Christina, my family consist of myself (obviously) My fiance Michael who is also struggling to get his weight under control, He has 3 children from a previous marriage Michael who will be 13 in march, he's 5'0 and 138lbs, Joey who will be 12 in February and is 4'8 or so and 81lbs and Zena who will be 10 in April and is 86lbs, she was sick last week and had 2 doctors appointments within the week and gained 1lb while being sick. Michael and I also have a daughter together McKenna she will be 2 on February 17th. She is the only one without a weight problem. She had been 21lbs for over a year she has finally started putting on some weight ( we are up to 22.8lbs)
I do worry that when she gets older her eating habits will not improve and she will be sitting in the same place that I am. Mikey is addicted to playing on his game systems and hardly moves from in front of them, I see a lot of the same problems in him that I had when I was younger, and still have to this day. Joey would gladly go outside and play but only if Mikey went with him. Zena is the odd ball she just came to live with us december 7th. I'm not sure what to do to get her outside more. Michael (my fiance) is away from home at least 10 hours a day, I am left with all the temptations. I tend to eat when I get stressed out and that tends to happen a lot while trying run a household of so many people.
I want to change my family habits so they don't have to change them when they are adults.
Instead of giving myself reasons why I can't, I give myself reasons why I can. ~ Unknown

Hi. My name is Maria. I am married. My husband and I have been together for 16 years We have 3 children, my boy age 13, and 2 girls, ages 5 and 19 months. We both work full time and during opposite shifts. It can be hard sometimes but we make it work. We are all home together on the weekends. I know we cant have family dinners together every night due to our work shifts but I would still like to get our whole family together at the dinner table at least the 2 nights that he is home. I also want to change our eating habits. I am not a veggie lover. My children will eat a lot of veggies but we dont do much salad or fresh veggies, mostly just canned stuff. I really want to include fresh fruits and vegetables with every meal and incorporate them into our snacks. I also would like my family to be more active, although this is hard in the harsh winter climate. It has been below 0 on many days. Too cold for the babe. Me and my daughter like to do the Wii Just Dance, thinking we can add a few more of these types of games until it warms up again. Also want to try to get exercise in at work by getting up more often rather than sitting at my desk all the time. The last few days I can feel my motivation is increasing, something I havent felt since before I had my 5 year old daughter, when I lost over 50 pounds. I remember what it felt like to be fit and healthy and I want to feel like that again. I am working on getting more sleep, drinking more water, and getting more excercise in. Also want to treat myself good, relaxation, drinking tea, feeling good, happy, healthy, and inspired. I will incorporate my faith into all of my goals and trust that by putting one foot in front of the other, taking small steps, I will make some changes in our lives. I dont care if their big or small or even how many changes. I just want to make some positive steps in the right direction and change my path. We can do this!

I'm almost 38 and have three kids. The youngest is just now 2, the oldest is 11. My kids are healthier than I am. Part of it is due to a compromised immune system and having fibromyalgia. However, I would still like to get healthier and so would my psychiatrist. My GP didn't say a word about my weight, but my psychiatrist did and wants me to lose a few pounds by my next appointment. I'm trying not to obsess over it too much, but I really would like to lose weight for myself and my children. My husband isn't a healthy weight either and has a family history of heart disease.
I'm excited about starting a healthy plan to do with our family. I want my children to eat healthy for the rest of their lives and I want to myself as well.
Thanks for having me here!

Hi my name is Michelle. I have two children (1 yr old son and 14 yr old daughter). I am a new stay at home mom and am loving it. I am going to be sad when I need to go back to work. I have been making changes in my diet here and there for quite some time now. Since my daughter is still in school I still buy some of those sugary desert snacks for her lunches. This past semester I have noticed a few changes in her at dinner time. She has started eating smaller portions and normally only drinks water unless we have pop in the house. Now to get her moving without making her feel she has to because she is overweight. She isn't to bad...yet but if I continue to bring in those bad for you snacks it could get uglier. I'm hoping with changing a few things we can get more active together and be a tighter family.

My name is Melissa. I have made great gains (or losses, depending on how you look at it :-) here on Spark, but having a mini family of my own now with my live-in boyfriend of almost 3 years, it is time to get everyone on track for healthy future. I don't need to take this journey alone!

Hi! My name is Shelly. I have two daughters ages 8 and 18. I have a wonderful husband. The last couple of years have brought many changes to our family. Our healthy lifestyle and eating habits have definitely been on the back burner. I would like to get my family back on track to eating family dinners at least 3-4 times a week and exercising at least 5 days a week. I would also like to reduce the amount of "electronic" time my family spends. I feel like there are much better ways to spend our time.

My name is Jenna and I am a mother of two young boys, 6 and 8. I am married to a wonderful man. But we all eat stuff that we shouldn't-namely junk food. My husband is in school and we both work full time, so not much time for cleaning and cooking. This past year I let that get in the way of eating healthy-we did a lot of takeout. This year my goal is to cook at least 4 dinners per week at home and to clean the kitchen every day so I don't have that excuse.

Hello my name is amanda I have started this year to get my family to walk, run, eat healthy journey with me. I have lost 100 pounds this last year and my goal this year is to lose at another 50 pounds. I have set my own page of my journey at www.facebook.com/AJourneyToWeightLoss....I am fighting childhood obesity one step at a time..I am doing weekly challenges with my daughter and family..So I thought why not join this team..
Hi, I'm Liz! One of my main new year goals is to get my family more involved in healthy living. Ive been trying to change my lifestyle to a healthy one for the past couple years and am getting pretty successful. I have noticed I haven't been getting my family as involved as I could. Sure, they have picked up some things from me along the way, but, it is my goal this year to really give us all a healthy makeover. My husband started to get a bit more active last year with sports and he seems very interested in exercise and healthy eating now. When I first started this he wasn't at all into it. So Im excited that hes been "sparked".. LOL My daughter is turning 4 and she just loves doing anything we do... I saw this challenge and thought its perfect! I hope to get some great advice and info along the way and complete this challenge!

Hello! I'm Tiffany - I am 31 years old with 3 kids and 2 dogs and a husband :) I've been struggling with my weight FOREVER. I joined spark a few years ago and lost a bunch of weight, but gained over 60 lbs with my last pregnancy and I need to shake that weight back off! I cut out all processed foods and currently plan out the meals weekly. Just need something to kick the whole family into gear and become more active!

Hello. My name is Rebecca. I am 43 years old and have 4 children and 2 bonus children. I have been struggling with my weight since college, batteling with eating disorders and then putting on an enormous amount of weight. My husband is also over weight and I am watching my oldest daughter struggle with her weight too. I want to make fitness a way of life for me and my family but often battle eating habits/fitness (me against them) trying to get everyone to jump on the healthy band wagon. Then I get tired of being the food police and give up. This year I am planning on making BIG changes for me and bringing them with me (I hope). I have been a member of spark for awhile but get bogged down and stop tracking food. Tracking food is the only thing that really seems to work for me. Anyway, I am happy to be a part of this challenge and look forward to seeing progress this time.

I have made many attempts to lose weight, but as i'm maturing it becomes more and more important to me to be physically and emotionally available to my family, before i just wanted to get into a great pair of jeans now i want to feel and be alive for my family, hey i still would love that pair of jeans but that's low low on my priority list right now, i have six children from 6-23 and I enjoy them so much. I also would like to shift some of my attention to My husband who supports my effort to get healthy can't wait, i'm excited and this year it's gonna happen

Hi I am new to spark people. I have my husband and my 13 year old son at home with me. We have a daughter in college also. We are terrible about having food in the house. We go out to eat almost every meal. When i go to the store I have no idea what to buy and end up with a lot of junk. i try to buy healthy food as well, but most of it ends up in the trash. We are extremely busy and I find making a meal plan for the week overwhelming. Above my kitchen sink, my husband, painted the saying "Eat Out or Starve In" haha I would love to get a handle on this aspect of my life. I would love to have an organized menu plan and kitchen. My son has just started to put on weight and is very upset by it. I NEED to get this under control.

I have 3 children and a loving husband. Together we're going to get healthier. I know I'm responsible for their nutrition and I've been too indulgent. We have some chronic issues like allergic asthma that I believe can be controlled with proper nutrition and some environmental changes. With winter upon us in the northwoods, we need to get creative and intentional about family activity time and reducing screen time. We had the family meeting and my oldest is not very excited by the other two are more than willing to play more as a family!
Getting healthy is like getting through boot camp. It's a lot of hard work, and some days you want to quit. But when graduation day arrives, memories of pain and trouble pale in the light of the pride and accomplishment you feel. You made it! You didn't quit.

So, since I am in quite a few groups, I'm sure some of you will notice that the post is eerily similar with only tweaks made to the individual group and my hopes for it. I generally dislike these, 'introduce yourself' threads because to me they are a few very impersonal paragraphs that are supposed to have a personal purpose. So please, bear with me on getting this right.
My name is Bronwyn Pearson. I am recently married to my wonderful husband, Bryan. He and I got married on our tenth anniversary of dating. We have a little girl, Ariana, who is four and in Pre-K. She'll be five in March and she can be quite a handfull. I also have two fur children: my cats Akasha, and Naki. They were both rescues, and have their little heart string tugging stories. Both of them sleep on me at night. Normally one will lay on my hip, and the other will lay just below my bent knee. They actually don't get along very well. It is quite common to hear Akasha growling at Naki, who still being a kitten, loves to antagonize her some.
I am twenty-eight years old, and that thought in itself depresses me. To be honest, getting older scares the crap out of me. I'm not the healthiest person alive, as you'll get to know in a little while. I can see mistakes coming back to haunt me, and my body is quickly giving out physically.
When I was younger, I suffered from both anorexia and bulimia. This has caused problems for me later in life such as crazy metabolism issues, problems with organs, and oral health. I also started having seizures late in life from a surgery I had when I was younger. They still aren't fully under control but I am on medication for them that seems to help. Every couple of months is better than every couple of weeks. I also have depression, bi-polar, high anxiety, and OCD. It is also interesting to note that I'm dyslexic, but I love reading and writing. It just takes me a little longer.
I was first going to school for Early Childhood Education, though that quickly changed when I had my own child and they started offering a Paralegal program at my college. However, thanks to my seizures (I can't drive for six months after I have one), I had to drop several classes and decided to take a break from school until I can get them fully controlled. Since then, my life has been filled with little pastimes. I like some videogames and I also roleplay and have begun blogging.
I'm at SparkPeople to try to get a jump start on my resolutions for living a healthier lifestyle and improving myself as a person. Mainly due to the medicines I'm on, I've gained weight and have trouble losing it so I've crossed in to the overweight category by five pounds and two inches of BMI. There are some other goals I have in mind, such as stop smoking and have a better family life. So, here's hoping! Besides my own reformations, I know how important it is to get my family involved, so they make good choices as well, plus... it'll give me my own personal support team

I am healthy and feel great just would like the outside to reflect who I am on the inside...would like to go swimming with the kids without feeling embarassed lol....plus my kids are now getting chunky and that reflects my poor eating choices. I'm the one who buys and prepares the food so it really comes down to me changing things around here!!! I'm ready for this challenge, time to make some changes
