Congratulations on joining! I also love all the articles on this website, my husband and I have been eating many more fruits and vegetables lately because of it and we feel GREAT! Last summer we even signed up for a local food co-op that practically forced us to eat lots of veggies, and we had so much fun cooking new ones we'd never tasted before. Good luck continuing your education and lifestyle change, and have fun with it!

That is so smart, and great advice!!! I yo yo-d for a couple years though i tried every day that way! It's impossible to loose 2 pounds a week that way let alone have a site tell you to eat so little calories you will loose daily but it's not calories you could make your lifestyle out of!

I'd have fun to, and love to resemble Julia again!

emoticon to SP. There are soooo many helps here on Spark People as you have already found out. I used to be like you and think that by eating low cal TV dinners and exercising a little I could lose all the weight I wanted to. Through SP I am learning to cook healthier and to eat using portion control. I didn't have a lot to lose, but through SP's help, I have almost reached my goal. It is a lifetime change, not just a quick fix.

Hi! I'm so excited about finding spakPeople.com! It looks so educational to me, and offers knowledge that I can use about loosing weight that just isn't out there. I want to know how to cook healthier than my dad's advice "use garlic salt and bacon greese" lol. I need to apply this to myself, and try eating just one serving of what I want, and use spices to add flavor instead. I was literally killing myself on my machine, and eating the wrong potions that were low cal trying to reach an unrealistic goal because I was going by what information is on the web. So, I need to make progress, and take it slow. I wasn't doing my exercise right as I alluded to. I wasn't alternating between 3 days of weights, and 3 of cardio for just 30 min a day. My goal used to be loosing 7 pounds a week in two months. Now it's the 2 pounds a week. I am also very enthusiastic to take the Healthy Cooking challenge to learn new skills to enable myself, and to save some money buying all those low cal t.v. dinners! I would have saved myself a lot of misery if I had joined this site earlier, knowing how much you can learn and gain on here!

I'd have fun to, and love to resemble Julia again!
