Your site looks great and I just got an idea for tonight's dinner from it. I had a nutritional consultation yesterday with my trainer and she wants me to eat fewer carbs and more lean protein.

We used to eat out - ALL - the time. We're talking - 4 or 5 times a week. At the end of 2010, I went through our bank statements to calculate the average amount we spent each month on eating out. The grand total: $796 per month!!! My husband and I made a pact that very day to change this. Not only because of the $$$$ shocker, but because we both know it's not healthy.

On January first, I started my own recipe blog to help keep me on track - you can find the link at the bottom of this post.

The initial goal was to cook homemade meals for my family 350 days in 2011. I have had to modify this goal a bit - 350 days was a pretty ambitious goal after all. We still resort to eating out on occasion - usually when a homemade meal would mean eating dinner after 8:00 pm because of various events going on. We also have our monthly "date night" which allows us to eat at a really nice restaraunt.

Through this goal - I have been able to take some of my favorite recipes, and make healthier versions of them. It's been a great way to stay motivated to eating healthy. I'm excited to be a part of a team with the same goals in mind!
