Hi Nicole I was a sweets fan too and like she said the more healthy foods you eat your taste will change, once you cut out the sugar you wouldn't believe how sweet a apple is.Consider getting the Spark book it talks about emotional eatting and tracking the triggers that make you eat. I am not quite halfway thru with it and I really am enjoying it.
Welcome, Nicole. Great to have you join our team. I wish I could help you with the fast food addiction. I have never been much of a fast food eater. I don't like it. I've heard people say that once you stop eating it, you lose your taste for it. I can't say. My downfall is chocolate and sweets. I'm trying to eat in such a way that I can have A LITTLE as part of my healthy diet. Easier said than done. At any rate, we are on this journey together, and we can do it!

Hi Nicole you made the first step by joining SP. This is a awesome site with lots of good articles to help you loose. Don't try to do to much to fast just take your time to find your own pace and the pounds will fall off. Good luck on your journey God Bless
Hi, Nicole. Be sure to look at all the teams on SP and join all the ones that interest you cause you'll meet great friends and get awesome help from each of them. I will not wish you good luck in your journey to establish a new lifestyle cause luck has nothing to do with it. Winning the lotto is all about luck. A new lifestyle will take a lot of hard work, determination, perseverance and support. We will do it together.

I, too, tried WW in November '09 but just kept gaining and losing the same 5 lbs. It's not that it's a bad program; I have 2 friends that did well with WW; it just didn't work for me. Then I found SP in late January 2010 and I was hooked!

Welcome Nicole. Do I ever know where you are coming from!!! I have been a since October 2010. I have lost 25 pounds and my clothes are fitting sooooo much better. Keeping track of my foods and using the recipes on SP is how I am losing the pounds. I am exercising, sporadically, so I really need work on that part, but I am so thankful for the support I get from SP friends. You will love the people on SP. Let's do this together.

I joined Sparkspeople today because I want to get started on a program to lose weight and I do not know where to start. I was not successful with Weight Watchers and my mom suggested that this may be the best place to get started. Here I am. I WILL get brave enough to include my pic one of the these good days, but I am never happy with any of my pics so I don't know about right now.
