Hi! I'm new here and super excited to see all that SparkPeople has to offer. I've been using a different tool to track my nutrition each day but it doesn't have all of these great interactive features, I think they will be very helpful for me. I'm Kirsten (Kirtinarama) and I live in the desert, in Tucson, AZ. I work for a non-profit that I love, enjoy reading, taking photos, sitcoms, art, and design/architecture.
I have been overweight almost my whole life (I'm 40) and after many, many starts and stops I feel that right now I am uniquely and finally ready to make being healthier a lasting success. I understand more about myself and about overeating than I ever have, and I feel more sure of success than I have before. But I know it won't be easy and I am really looking forward to giving and getting support from folks who have similar goals and struggles.
I've been eating right since January 1 (with the exception of one cheat day that got way out of control!) and today I exercised for the first time in over a year. I'm optimistic! I'm very glad to meet all of you, I'll be perusing your profiles! Have a wonderful evening. :)
