I'm Paula, and while my husband and I eat fairly well, a little bit of extra motivation could help us get to the next level of eating healthfully

Hello. I'm Liz and I eat pretty well. My husband does the cooking and cooks good, healthy dinners. I'm here to figure out my packed lunches. I'm bored with the same stuff and would like to revamp my daily brown bag.

My name is Becky and I am a single mother of a 17 yr old son. He is a picky eater and we are on a budget of $360 a month for food. I am trying to find nutritious food that I know we will both eat. I am finding that staying within my calories is not to hard but staying under sodium is a bit harder. I am really looking forward to this Healthy Cooking Challenge.

My name is Jackie, and I'm working ib eating healthy to control diabetes. So far, things are going well. I'm working on reorganizing my kitchen and throwing out the unhealthy stuff, to make room for the healthy.1
My name is Dara. I just gave birth to my first child (a healthy little boy). I've been going through spurts where I'll make healthy food, and then end up stopping when life happens. I'm hoping this challenge helps me get organized and motivated to make healthy food for my family. I want to help my son learn to eat well from a young age.

Hi, I am Jackie!
I also eat fairly healthy, but not consistently. That is one thing I really want to work on to eliminate that merry go-round of good foods versus bad foods. My goal is to eat healthy and make better choices when the options are not the healthiest available.
Second, my kitchen is overdue for a major rehaul. I need to see what I have so as to eliminate duplication when shopping.
Third, I would like more receipes that are quick go to meals.

Hi My name is Emily,
I am a working mom of two , ages 2 and 5. I have chanllenges cooking healthy meals that they will actually eat! The are not opposed to veggies, just perhaps how I prepare them LOL Im looking forward for some inspiration! Also, staying on a modest grocery budget is very important to me, however I do not sacrifice health for price, you will not find pogos, chicken nuggets or french fries in my freezer! LOL (But I do have ice cream....

Hi my name is Debbie. I live in southwest florida and have established an exercise plan that works for me. I am about 1/2 way to my first goal weight and have learned alot so far but I would like to learn more about cooking healthy meals. For years my husband has cooked our meals but now I get home earlier and have taken over the cooking. As part of my plan I am trying to make healthy meals that will satisfy my family and still help me stay in my calorie range. I would like to try a new recipe each week and add more variety to my meals.

Hi! I am Eileen. I have been on Spark for about 18 months and have been successful. I am looking forward to this challenge to help me enhance the flavor of my meals. I cook most nights of the week but the food is fairly bland. For medical reasons I do not use pepper or hot spices. I have never been god at using herbs but would like to learn what to do with them.

Hey! My name is Lisa and I'm excited to be here. I already do cook some nights in my home (I just got the Sparkpeople Cookbook, which is awesome). However, I still could be cooking at home more than I already do. I'm here to hopefully improve this habit. Also, if I start making better home-cooked meals, maybe my husband will be less likely to want to eat out so often. To him, it's a huge treat to go to a restaurant, but if I make more tasty homecooked meals then maybe MY food will become the treat!

Hello Everyone! My name is Vikie and I am a busy married mom of one. I joined this challenge because I am so busy and I need to be more diligent about cooking healthy meals instead of getting fast food or making Mac 'n Cheese 3 nights a week. I love to cook and bake and I look forward to slimming down my meals and getting new recipes from others.

Hey everyone! My name is Melissa. I'm new to the whole "cooking" world as my meals mainly consisted of take out or frozen dinners. However, my doctor has me on low calorie, high protein diets that has to avoid high fructose corn syrup, so I am finding myself learning how to cook! I have been with SP over a year now, but I've been on this "round" since May and have lost 52lbs so far :-) I have a long way to go and looking for all the motivation and support I can find!

Hi everyone,I'm Kathy. I already cook most meals at home because of little income coming in right now. I will be going back to work in about 3 weeks and my huband is off with a broken foot. I am in a rut right now and tired of cooking the same old thing. I'm hoping for some new ideas and ways to cook healthier food. I am not much of a veggie eater but I'd like to try some new veggies. Looking forward to getting to know you and working on the challenge together.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this team and am really excited. I am looking forward to the challenges and need that extra motivation to help with the weight loss and to keep eating healthy.
Hi everyone! New to the team, but not new to SP. I joined a couple of years ago, lost almost 30 pounds, and here I am again. My biggest issue was that I really didn't have time to cook, so we ate out a lot...and I mean a lot! It was sad, because I love to cook. I think that I cook healthy, but sometimes I can use some help. Looking forward to working with the team

I am new to the team. I've never took part in teams while on spark people so I thought I would give it a try. I did lose 50lbs and then gained 15 back. I am trying to get back into being motivated and keeping the weight off especially with the holidays coming up. I don't need to lose the 15 I have gained but I would like to be healthier and maintain my active lifestyle. I have been trying to try at least one new healthier recipe each week just to broaden my cooking skills..

Hi! New to the Team. This is really going to be a challenge for me because not only do I not particularly like cooking, but I don't like planning meals or grocery shopping. I'm hoping this team will help me change all that so I can plan, cook and eat healthy meals to benefit both my husband and myself. I bought the SparkPeople Cook Book and found tons of great recipes so now I need to start planning and making healthy meals!! THANKS!

Hi! I'm trying to makeover my whole family's eating habits. My husband and I are both obese, but my son is at a healthy weight....I'd like for him to stay fit and healthy and my current cooking habits won't make that possible.
I only have an hour to cook dinner between the time I get home from work and my husband leaves for work so I tend to cook things out of a box. This has to stop! so I'm here to find healthier ways to go about our mealtimes.

Hello everyone. My name is Bettie. I had been making my meals everyday. Then, without reason, I just couldn't seem to prepare anything. I have basically started eating anything that don't require any preparation. This is not good and dangerous for someone like me is type II diabetic.

Glad I found this group, it's exactly what I needed! I used to cook and bake a lot from scratch, menu planned religiously, and focused on buying organic and healthier ingredient options. Then I got burned out. I started buying a lot of convenience foods, we started eating fast food several times a week, and my crock pot and bread maker went into the basement. Fast forward about a year and I've gained weight, my husband now has high cholesterol, and my kids have developed bad eating habits. What a mess! I'd really like to spend the next four weeks getting back on track. My kitchen is a disaster right now and I don't even know where my recipe box is. My to do list aligns perfectly with week 1's goals: I'm going to do a major cleaning of my kitchen today and then come up with a menu plan for the rest of the week!

Getting started is the hardest part - once you start getting into a "routine" it seems to get a bit easier... I've noticed after just a couple of weeks of cutting out on some junk and loading up with fruits/veggies and eating more at home I actually feel better! :) Good luck!! :)

I am looking to learn how to create easy but healthy meals in advance. I am 54 and divorced with an 18 year old son still living at home while he goes to college. We have very different schedules and if it looks 'funny', he won't eat it! I have decided that I just need to do what is right for me and if he doesn't like it, he can make something else!
This is my first time on Spark and I need to lose about 50 - 60 pounds but cannot seem to get started...I am hoping the folks here will help!
Thanks in advance for your support - Nancy

Hi! I'm new to this challenge and thought it would be a great way to help stay motivated. I went grocery shopping yesterday with my list and I came home with so many fruits and veggies that they almost didn't fit in my mini fridge! Keeping up with the cooking will be the greatest challenge for me, I do great for the first 2-3 days of my work week then it fades out towards the end. I think this it the right place for me!

Hi my name is paula and have been with sparks people for a while but starting over. I hope to use the challenge to kick start finding healthier choice that i would actually eat. I'm pretty ok with cooking dinner at home, breakfast and lunch are my biggest issues specially since i drive all day and there are no healthy food choices available where I'm at.

I also, thought it would be great to have like-minded peps I can chat with here.

Hi everyone. I am 30 years old and I am just now learning how to cook anything! I never learned how to cook and my husband likes to cook, so that's always worked for us. My husband is now in school twice a week so I've been trying to learn and experiment on the weekends. NOW I am following the meal-planner here and am looking forward to healthier meals all the time for me and my family! Very excited to join the challenge and live a bit healthier!

I enjoy cooking, but with a full time job, a toddler, and a baby on the way I haven't been doing as much as I would like. Additionally, the recipes I DO make are the same 4 repeated constantly. I need to break out of my rut, so that I'm better prepared when the new baby arrives and I have even less time than I do now. Looking forward to support and great ideas!

I previously joined the Tame Your Sweet Tooth Challenge & liked it. It gave me a little push to cut back on sugar. So I realized these challenges & Spark Teams & Msg Boards just give some incentive to try a little harder. So I looked for a second challenge & this one caught my interest. I don't get a chance to cook often, because I work & my husband is retired, so he does most of the cooking. But I'm off on Fridays, so I have started trying to cook a meal then & make it as healthy but as tasty as I can. My husband said one time, that I wasn't meant for cooking, but the last time or two I have made one of the more healthier meals (Denise Austin has helped me also), my husband actually enjoyed it.
