I have been doing low carb diet for 5 weeks and have lost 15 pounds. I bought a low impact aerobic video that I have been doing for 3 weeks, By low impact I mean it was for senior citizens. LOL. But I am currently 277 lbs. I haven't exercised in over 20 years. I am a little scared to take this on but I need something to increase the intensity and kick it up a notch. Good luck everyone. I am getting ready to do the first video. Wish me luck. If you don't hear from me again you know I didn't make it.

Hi,
I'm Gigi. 47/F in the Phoenix, AZ area.
I bike commute. It's only 4.5 miles each way so I've been gradually increasing my distance and now am almost to the point of tripling it to work. I still take the short way home so I can wind down and get to sleep shortly after (long shifts). I need to change up my routine to help me drop fat.
The scale has barely budged since the beginning of the year, only -5.5lbs. It's been VERY up and down.
However, the tape measure has really become my friend. Dropped over 6 inches in January and really looking forward to taking my measurements again the first Monday in March to see how I've done in February. I've already dropped 2 pant sizes.
So, I'm hopeful this program will help me change up my routine so I can keep moving in different ways and see even more results.
I have over 100lbs to lose. I didn't put it on overnight so I know it will take time and I'm not in any rush. I can see improvements in the mirror, in my clothes, and am getting compliments so all is good and continuing to improve.
My biggest concern is some of my joint and back issues. So, I'll be modifying a lot of the exercises, but I'll still be doing as much as I can.

Hi! I'm Betsy. I'm a mom of 2 and Nana to 3. I'm struggling with my RA - my feet in particular and am finding it difficult to get back into shape. When our financial consultant said that 95% of our happiness during retirement will depend on our health it really hit me that I'd better get healthy. RA's challenges make it unique. I find that the doctors want me to take it easy but I'm not a take it easy kind of person. I whitewater guided for a number of years, love to kayak, camp, hike and now backcountry hike but I need to get healthy to do the things I love not to mention the things I want to try - like stand-up paddleboard. So I'm looking for some support.

So I have not made this kind of effort in many years. I was fit and active and a mostly healthy eater for most of my life. Then I banged up my body and stopped moving but continued to eat like I could just burn it off. Uh, nope. I got fat and unwell. Never really had to think about it before, but now I see how hard it is to move more and eat less when everything hurts (including emotionally). This will truly be a challenge. But I will not be my own victim anymore! In a year I will be 50 and I will be amazing! (As though I weren't already). Working hard and moving forward. Be Strong and Live Long.

Hi My name is JO. This was the first challenge I did when I first joined SP a few years ago and it really helped me then and I hope it will again. Last year I had to deal with some health issues that have made it difficult if not impossible to workout. I now have to learn a new normal and accept that I have to start working out slowly. Hi, I am ChaCha! I live in Sacramento until March, then I am moving to Jamaica to live on some farms and stuff! I have been a member since 2009, but got lost in grad school, life, teens and a bike collision that nearly killed me. With that said, I live life like it is the only one I have, because it is! I would rather live life that I love than spend my time working for a job that I hated.

Anyway the charts say I am obese, and I kind of want to rip them up! I do not feel obese, I bike a ton and even biked across the country in 2013 when I quit my career. So I need a kick in the but to refocus my days until I leave stateside. Too much TV is making my mind mush which my body will eventually match. So here is to distraction and refocus!

New here and today's my first day. I've had to give up my gym membership due to financial issues so I'm having to find alternative ways to work out. Financial issues are what makes it difficult as those issues keep me working ALL the time because my job is a commission based job so I'm truly hoping I can find the time to do this.

I've stalled in my weight loss because I haven't been able to work out, but I can also say I've not put ON any weight due to this either. I'm maintaining right now and I don't want to keep doing that. I want the size of my pants to keep going down so hopefully this is the key and can help me realize I can fit exercise in my day even with children, homework, work and a husband.

Hello my name is Shaya. I'm 25 years old and have 2 children. I've been married to my high school sweetheart for 7 years. We've both let ourselves go over the years but ready to start working towards a healthier happier future. Since our kids are growing to be more active its time that we be more active so we can be in the game and not on the sidelines. I eat healthier then most. My problem isn't eating too much its eating too little. Usually 700 calories a day. Is gonna be tough trying to change it. I joined this team hoping too learn some fun new ways to exercise. I've been on Spark people since July but I am new to the team. Hoping to get the ball rolling on weight loss and make a few friends along the way.

Hi everyone!

My name is Tasha and I live in Richmond, VA. I am a singele mother of 1 and enjoy singing and working out. I am destined to stay fit and healthy, as well as to lose weight safely. Hi All!
I have previously finished a challenge before and I know this is a great way to start or restart or keep going! I remember starting to feel a lot better after the first few days and really great at around 2 weeks. So I'm here to get going and continue. I wish you all success.

Hi all,
I signed up for this but didn't ever really get going. This time it's for real.

I've just agreed to do a charity cycle ride next May (3 days at 60 miles per day) and needed to go out and spend a fortune on a new bike. Now that's spent, I'm definitely doing all I can to get ready or it will have been a waste of money.

This 28-day bootcamp will hopefully help with my weight loss, fitness and stamina.

Hi I'm Chris...This is my first bootcamp workout challenge...I have been a member of SP for at least 2 years I think; however, I still have yet to reach my goal of being in the 130s (currently 180s). Having a heart-to-heart talk with my son last night about his concern that "I am obese" really sparked me back to SP and made me realize I've done too much talking with no action. It's really time for me to get healthy and stop taking steps backwards! Day 1 done! =)

Hi! I am Olivia and have done this challenge before. I remember how much my strength improved last time I did this challenge and am ready to hold myself accountable again. I go on these streaks of working out, then not working out. It is a horrible cycle but I keep trying to remain consistent. emoticon Sunday will be my Week 1 Day 1.....I am pumped!!!!

Hi, my name is Kerensa and I just joined the team. I have joined all of the team goals as well. I am 43, diabetic type 2 using Victoza shot for blood sugar control and carb controlled (not low carb) diet. I have been using the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds 1 & 2 mile videos recently but wanted to add something new. This challenge looks interesting and different. My biggest challenge with exercising is my diabetic neuropathy in my feet, which makes any exercise painful when using my feet. I will endure though!

Hi everyone! I like the idea of a challenge because I want consistency and accountability. I hope this team is pretty active because I intend to be and I hate talking to myself! ;)

I'm trying to get back into moving my body and eating right. I'm doing this bootcamp and 30 day Shred to start, and will go from there.

I'm hoping to lose 20 pounds this month, I know it sounds like a lot, but I've just started and I have 100 to lose so I think it can be done.

I just completed a 30 days of raw challenge and I found that doing something consistently gave me a real sense of accomplishment so I'm hoping to find that feeling again as well as give my fitness level a boost so that i can get more out of the personal training sessions that I recently signed up for.

Hi, I'm Madonna, and I like the challenges with accountability.
I'm hoping to "kick start" my weight loss; seem to be stuck for the last 2-3 weeks, so maybe I need to do/try something different to "shake up" things.
Pretty consistent on logging food, doing cardio, but I need to start the toning/strengthening exercises.
