Hi everyone! I'm mike and I've been on SP since 1/26. 15 weeks later, I'm down 33 lbs and have completed the couch to 5K. I'm down to 233 lbs from where I started, but I'm kind of at a plateau. So, here I am to try and kick things up a notch and get my weight loss moving again. I have 41 lbs left to lose, so we'll see how the 28 day boot camp ends up.

I see nothing wrong with being a tough dude with a soft heart.

Hi- Name is Jessica, I am 28 y/o i currently weigh 178 lbs. I started with S.P. a few yr ago. I weighed 245lbs. I used S.P. as a guide & got down to 153. Good Morning! I am called Henri. I retired a couple of years ago and have become a lot less active. My strength and flexibility is in need of an overhaul. I completed the 7-Day Boot camp over a week ago, which was just to break the ice and prepare me for the 28-Day Bootcamp and am doing a 30-Day Jumpstart challenge. I feel if I am more engaged in the Sparkpeople programs it will only help guide me to a better me.
I have a goal of doing a 5K, 8K and 10K this year in hopes of building up to a half marathon by the end of the year.
I also enjoy the way the community participates in fitness and health, it gives me inspiration and encouragement that I can regain a better health and fitness status.

My name is LeAnne 60yrs. Lost 45 plus pounds. Fell off exercise program 3 months ago. I lost the increasing shape and posture that exercise brings. Hi Jen! You finally got me for good!!!

Best of luck to all. Its about health and happiness. Never quit. I am so much happier since I lost the first "package" of weight. What a life changer. Can't quit here. I must go to the finish line and beyond. Its been easier than I thought with the coaching program.... I feel so rewarded everyday for following a prescribed diet.. and using the recipe finder. Well now its onward to new goals.... EXERCISE as a life pattern. Boy I am going to enjoy seeing the fat come off my the sides of my legs and my rear end! Exercise will take me there.

I was doing pretty well last fall, but then, we just moved back to the US after spending 6 years in Germany, and the whole process threw me off track. I was used to walking, biking, and barely drove anywhere, and here in Idaho, the car is a must. I will have to readjust.

Welcome everyone!

Years ago I was inspired by Biggest Loser to finally tackle my weight problem. I was about at the weight I am today :-( and lost about 30 pounds. I kept it off for some time, but moving back to the US after 5 years in Europe wrecked me. Instead of walking everywhere, I now commute. Instead of eating relatively healthy food (my hubby stayed home and cooked nearly every day) I started to eat junk and grab fast food.

The time has come. I am ready to do it all over again.

I did a 2 week plan that cut out all the crap and made me eat lots of veg and lean protein and got 5 pounds off. Here's to continuing the trend!

I work from home.
I have my chronic conditions managed so they are not causing me daily pain.

I posted on my blog a picture the newspaper in my local town posted of me and my kid marching to the courthouse on the day marriage was legalized for all couples. Next year, when we are celebrating its 1-year anniversary, I don't want to worry how the Tribune's photo is going to look with me in it.

Hi, I'm Catherine & I've been a member on and off for some time. I injured my hip running 3 years ago and have not been able to exercise on a regular schedule since then. I'm trying now to focus on strength training, but will also try the treadmill if it doesn't start to increase the pain too much.

Hi! I'm Valerie! I've been a member of Sparkpeople since 2011, got 3/4 of the way to the top and then slid almost all the way back down! Now, I recently turned 50, have had Congestive Heart Failure and high blood pressure that I struggle with even with meds, and it is in the best interest of my health and well being to charge back up that mountain! So here's to the kick in the bootie to get me started!

Hi! My name is Dea. I am 38 years old and recently married the love of my life last November. I have struggled with my weight (too low/ too high) since I was 16. My goals for this challenge are:
1- To tone muscles and lose weight at a healthy pace.
2- To complete all recommended action steps

Hi my name is Alexis, I am 44 years old have two young sons aged 4 & 5 years old and a lovely husband. We all live in the middle of nowhere North Wales surrounded by cows & sheep. I have had some medical issues in the past 10 years and after much morphine they have finally changed my meds and I have discovered that I feel very well and I can move again. I have been doing lots of cardio and I now I need to start strength training to help my bone density. I have so far lost 10kg in total and 3.5 kg in the past two weeks since joining SP. It will be nice to take this journey with you all and maybe make a few friends along the way!

Hi, my name is Natasha and I am an at home mother of 2 teenage boys(15/16 soon to be 16/17) and a military wife to a wonderful husband and own 2 businesses. I have been on this lifestyle change since 29 Dec 2014, currently lost 40lbs and taking it 5-10lbs at a time so that I don't get overwhelmed. I do a women's only self defence class 3x week and I do Goodlife fitness 2/3 times a week as well as starting to walk outdoors more.
I am committed and wanting this more than I have ever wanted something in my life, I am no longer using excuses or life get in my way-I am doing this for me and I love SparkPeople and the support and friends I have made. Oh and I am saying hello from the East Coast of Canada, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Hippiechick your enthusiasm and desire is felt. Well done at 54 for giving it all you got and when that finds an end you went looking for extra help. I too got a fitbit and came on SparkPeople for the extra boost or push. I am 47 and just coming into menopause, so understand the energy drop off and the general fogginess that can get n the way of goals. Like you I am not giving up or throwing in the towel EVER. I want to live a long life with great health. No point living long if you're a wreck. I have 10 pounds or so to lose. Every day is a day to work on getting that number lower. All the best to you!

My name is Deb, I am 54 years old, I am married. I am a nurse at a rehabilitation hospital and I had totally let myself believe that I was no longer interested in weight loss, exercise, and getting healthier until I got to the point that I was short of breath walking from my car into the hospital to go to work. I was always tired. I couldn't sleep, I was miserable. When I stepped on the scales I couldn't believe how much weight I had gained. I have been heavy for quite a while but had never been this heavy and out of shape. I had always been able to do everything that I needed to do then it seemed that suddenly everything I did was a chore.

I started to change in a big way. I took all the junk food that I had been eating out of the house. I went to the store and purchased low calorie/fat food and I came back to SparkPeople. Since I started I have lost 20 pounds since April 28, 2015. I bought a FitBit, pulled my walking videos out of the closet and have been aiming at doing a cardio activity 3 times a week for a minimum of 20 minutes.

I know that I have made a lot of changes in a very short time but I felt desperate due to my declining endurance and health. I am interested in learning new recipes, new low-impact cardio, as well as strength training exercises for toning. I am looking forward to starting this challenge and continuing to improve my health. I have a lot of weight to lose so I'm ready to get to work!

New to this team, and planning to start the challenge tomorrow (June 1 seemed like the perfect start date). I've been on SP before and lost 85 pounds, but life, depression, etc. got in the way of maintaining and now I'm back to square one. I need a solid challenge to force me to do strength / toning work, as I HATE it, so here I am! Hi everyone! Im Ally, and i am 19 years old. I have always been extremely fit and the scale wouldn't budge past 120! Now, it wont leave 160. I recently started gaining weight because I started college. I have been really stressed, and Ive been eating whatever I can in whatever time I have. It really hit me that I gained weight when my BMI was considered overweight. I really want to do this bootcamp, and lose some of my unwanted weight. I would appreciate some motivation! Hello everyone I am Linda, I have 2 babies one 5 Serenity and one 5 months Isabelle. My daughter bless her heart has kind of brought me into this with the most honest earth shaking way. After I had Isabelle, I was walking around the house and Serenity asks me if I was going to have another baby. When I told her not right now she said well then why is your tummy still fat. I was crushed! I know she was not trying to hurt me and I know chances are she doesn't understand why I was so upset about it but it still killed me lol! So I have been working on everything for just under a month, tracking the foods, and work outs and writing a daily blog on wordpress about everything.
I am always opened for accountability buddies so if anyone needs help! or if anyone wants to help me!

Hello, My name is Wendy and i am 25 years old. I have 2 children ages 5 and 7. I recently joined spark people because over the last 5 years ive slowly gained about 90 pounds with about 20 pounds from last year alone, Had some deep depression last year after having 2 miscarriages and I am ready to get back to a healthy me to be here for my children. This challenge will help me be in better shape to enjoy the summer with my kids, playing outside and having loads of fun all around. I am super excited to be here.

Hi, My name is Shanon and I've been on Sparks before but my computer died and I had no way of maintaining my Sparks regiment, but now I'm back on and the new phone apps are a big help. I've lost, a total of 18lbs, (I started loosing before I joined Sparks but I needed Sparks to help me continue.) I'm very proud of that. I didn't have the best support system at home either, but they are coming around to my way of thinking.
I too have a child that is fixing to get married and I want to look good in those wedding photos, luckily I have 3 years until the wedding date. Actually she's getting married in August but over in Australia. When she gets back they plan on having a ceremonial wedding. She is the oldest of four, so ....
I am also a caregiver, have been most of my life, a homeschool mom, and a quilter who is learning to make her own clothes. Need some while I loose this weight. I don't want to invest too much in new clothes when I'll be loosing, and I am loosing. emoticon

Hi, my name is Gill and I've been around Spark for a few years' now. I'm 60 yrs old, not overweight, but want to keep fit & healthy. I'm doing a 5k programme at the moment, and quite enjoy doing that sort of active exercise, but am quite allergic to words like 'boot camp', 'shred' and 'burn' and dislike that feeling of having a hot head when working out hard. So I go for running, swimming, yoga - have ventured into a little bit of strength training.

However, today I'm feeling a bit low - and I need something to kick it up a bit. My son is getting married in 4 weeks' time and I want to feel/look my best!

So - here goes!

Hi Everyone!! My name is Amber. I'm trying to get back on track with exercise and eating right. I just went to the doctor and my a1c was not good. I am getting back to exercising at lunchtime at work, and trying to be more active. This challenge comes at a great time because in 4 weeks, I will be going to Smokey Mountains for my 5th anniversary with my hubby. Plus in November we are going to Dominican Replubic.
From my heaviest weight of 389...I am now down to 330. I really want to break the 300's and get into the 200's.

Hi y'all.. sylvie here. 42 year old bulimic/compulsive overeater on a journey to a healthier, happier me. Joined SparkPeople some time back, and hopped onto this challenge. Almost completed it, but unfortuneately gave up before earning my trophy. Decided tonight I could use the motivation to add new things to my program to make it fun again.

Started at 317 lbs, and am currently at 241 - 76 lbs lost total so far.
My most exciting accomplishment in this journey, is that I can run now.
I'm not experienced, but remember a day I couldn't barely walk - so happy to be able to run now.. It feels great!

Looking forward to completing this challenge, because I know I can!

Hello Everyone,

My name is Ingrid and I live in Flatrock, Newfoundland, Canada. I work at Memorial University as a lab instructor in computer science.

Recently, I began a healthy living group here on campus. As the leader, I give out lots of support and I have gained confidence in my knowledge of a healthy life style.

I started this journey about 5 weeks ago at 5'0" and 215 lbs. I am aiming to be 185 lbs by my birthday on December 19th, 2015. I think this is a realistic goal ad this would be 30 lbs in 30 weeks.

I will weigh-in with my group on Wednesdays and record my progress here on Thursdays.

I am looking forward to being successful and I know that this group will help me as I find the exercise part of my journey very difficult!
