Welcome - glad to hear about the remission and good to have you on SparPeople! You'll be surprised how motivating just doing 10 minutes a day will be...10 minutes usually extends into 20 and then 30 minutes. Good luck! emoticon

I'm a 49 year old, mother of twins and 3 time cancer survivor. (Although I'm still going through treatment at this point, I got good news that I'm in remission and will finish treatment by the end of October.) So, life has had it's challenges over the past year, but I'm ready to get my life back on track. The 10 min challenge is so perfect for me, because I know I can succeed. I read somewhere that it takes 21 days to establish a habit. My goal is to do just that. I've always struggled with exercise -- i.e. I really don't like it. But, if I can establish a habit of exercising every day, I can break through the excuse barrier -- "I'm tired"; "It takes too much time"; "I'm too out of shape"; and the ever useful, "I'm going exercise right after I (fill in the blank)" followed by "Aw, man, it's too late to exercise now!" But, who doesn't have 10 minutes? It's practically nothing in the grand scheme of 24 hours. Now, I can say, "Whew, that wasn't so bad. I got THAT out of the way and I still have the energy to do all this other stuff." Anyway....that's who I am and why I'm here.
