HI Crystal, I've been through the depression and it's NOT easy huh? If you are on meds ,,you didn't say, often they increase the need to eat and eat more and more and more. They make you just CRAVE food. Now how you hanlde this is up to you and being depressed there are times you may not just care, but hon, really you can look beyond that and care. If not for you, than imagine your doing this for the health of your children, which you are on top of yourself.

If your on meds and they are making you crave food, than please talk to the Doc and have them change it to something else that's not as bad. Sometimes it takes trying many. I had to try about them all b4 finally hitting on an MAOI (they HATE doing that one cos of the food allergies it causes which can be life threating).

This is one of the hardest battles for some people but some of the easiest for others it's all about YOU and how YOU handle this. You need to eat less calories and exercise we all know this but tailor the diet and exercise to what you can handle.

Hi and welcome Crystal! Food is always going to be there. You do need food to survive, but YOU can control how much you eat. You didn't say how old your children are. You can eat 5 meals per day. Eat a good breakfast between 7-9, snack between 9-11, lunch 11-1, snack 2-4, and then dinner. For the snacks eat a piece of fruit or yogurt. Try crackers with a stick of mozzarella cheese or maybe a snack bar like Fiber One.

You can do this Crystal. Try doing some exercises. Take a look at some of the workout DVD on this site. There some that are 5 minutes, 10 or even 30. If your children take naps, do your exercises while they are sleeping or they can work out with you. Good luck on your weight loss journey.
