I've been on the rollercoaster for years and have learned a couple of things about myself and weightloss.
As much as I want to lose it ALL RIGHT NOW - all I end up doing is tiring myself out.
What I'm doing and what I know WILL WORK for me is this:
1) Drink water. Lots of water. Keep track of how much water I drink, then drink more. Everytime I'm thirsty. No soda. Nothing with sugar in it.
2) I'm lazy. I hate exercise. So I'm doing the 10-minute challenge. If I can't manage 10 minutes of SOMETHING - then I'm not ready to make the necessary changes. I live in an apartment complex and a walk around it is approx 10 minutes. I take my poor overweight dog with a bad hip on the walk. It forces me to take care of her and it also allows me to take it slowly. And it's only 10 minutes. I can work anywhere from 9 to 16 hours in a day and am a single mom. Even I can find 10 minutes. You can too. Just walk. It'll be more than you're doing right now.
3) Use the nutrition guide on this site and log what you eat. All of it. No matter what it is. Don't try to change all your eating habits until you know what they are. By forcing yourself to account for everything you put into your mouth you will start to eliminate some of it.
It's a start. Maybe slow - but it's a way to get started without being overwhelmed. Plus you are doing the 3 things you need to do to lose the weight and keep it off:
Monitor food intake
That's it. You'll start to notice changes. And when you're ready - you can start to up your movement and change your eating habits once you have established a baseline.
You can do this and everyone here will help you meet your goals!
