I'm determined to find time for including 10-minute daily exercise in my life. I know there are some pretty creative ways to do it using nothing more than my own body weight. I'm looking forward to hearing out just how creative everyone is at making this part of their daily routine.

For some ideas, be sure to check out the tips in the article "Small Bits of Fitness Add Up"
http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitness_articles.asp?id=202

Especially the "Squeezing in Exercise" article http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitness_articles.asp?id=380

Good luck everyone on your journey to a healthier you.

Good morning! My name is Jennifer. I re-joined SparkPeople about a week ago but my official start day is today. I'm hoping to get back on track with my weightloss and adapting a more healthy lifestyle overall. I'm looking forward to meeting some new friends along the way.

Hi everyone! I have been on and off sparkpeople for a few years. I am joining this challenge in an effort to get back to simplicity. Before I got married three years ago I lost about 30 pounds with sparkpeople by simply logging food and using the exercise videos on this site. Now I feel like everything is so much more complicated which leads to being overwhelmed, which leads to doing nothing. I ordered a couple of Coach Nichole's DVD's and am looking forward to to getting back on track.

Hi I'm back again like many after several failed attempts. I've been streaking my fitness for the last week and thought this challenge will help keep me on track since I usually give up on myself in week two. So here is to an excellent challenge, lots of progress and a good time with great people!

Hello. I just re-joined SP after several previous unsuccessful tries. I guess it's all in the not giving up! :) I started an exercise program 2 weeks ago, and have so far done very well on it - the ACE Kickstart Workout (you can see it here: http://www.acefitness.org/acefit/fitness_programs_article.aspx?id=3159#sthash.fRhFLI1M.dpbs ). It's a pretty good set of bodyweight strength exercises, and a slow ramp-up into cardio. This time around I want to take it slow and steady, as in the past I would start to exercise and soon hurt something - a knee, a hip, lower back... This seems like a good group to join. There are so many teams in SP, hard to find one to join. :)

I have a workout coming up later tonight - 2 circuits of the weight training, total should be about 30 mins.

Next - to figure out how to set up my weight tracker... :)

Journey of 150 lbs begins with a single step...

Hi everyone emoticon I'm Karen and I'm joined this challenge to light a fire under my butt to get it moving...sometimes I fail...sometimes I don't. Since joining on Thurs. I have logged 60 minutes. I am proud of doing SOMETHING, but I skipped Sat and Sun. emoticon I wish everyone the best of luck....AND LET'S DO THIS!! Would love to find an "accountability buddy". My husband said he would, but I'm not afraid of him so I could easily blow off a workout and HE'D LET ME! emoticon

Every journey beings with a single step.

Good morning. I am joining this because, while I'm pretty good during the week, my weekend work hours are nuts. I basically live at my job Friday to Sunday. I don't have access to equipment on the weekends and I'm hoping to get at least some ideas for quick exercises I can do so I don't feel like my whole weekend ends up a bust.

Hi I'm Leslie and I joined this team because I need to get in the mind set that even if I don't feel well or don't have much time I can still fit in 10 minutes of exercise. I need to have a plan for these days so that I can do strength training or stretching and not get all sweaty if I am on the run and don't have time to shower. emoticon emoticon

Hi everyone. My name is Erin and I'm a mom of two who can't keep up. After having my first daughter I lost 45lbs on my own. but now that i have just had my second daughter I am back up to where I was and getting bigger. I HAVE to take off this weight! I can't run around with my toddler. It breaks my heart that I can't lift her anymore. The sad look on her face when I tell her I can't pick her up kills me!
I'm starting this challenge in the hopes that 10 minutes becomes addictive over time and increases to 20 30 or more minutes a day. Maybe even something my girls and I can do together as they grow :)

I have used Sparkpeople for over two years, and after early success (lost 36 lbs) I had some setbacks. I gained weight during a period of taking prednisone, and in November had ankle surgery which has really restricted my activities. Cast came off yesterday, and I'm now able to walk a bit and planning to try the stationary bike.

My weight is back fairly close to my all time low, and from past experience I know it is hard to get past this without exercise. So 10 minutes a day is a good starting point for me!

I'm Lee, and I've been on Sparkpeople for 2 years now, but I'm finding it really hard to make time to workout. Really hard. I read another article yesterday about how 10 minutes a day of working out really CAN make a difference so I'm going to try it.

Hi, I'm Christina. I am almost 48 years old and I am Dutch, I live in the Netherlands.
I'd like to strengthen my experiences with exercise, ingraining the habit further, and experiment a little with what I can do - given that I have plantar fascitis which makes it difficult to walk / be on my feet a lot, and some arm complaints that make strength training harder because I can't use / train my arms.

Hello! I'm a new member too. I worked with my sisters (one is a dietician and the other a nurse/personal trainer) to improve my diet in October--and have lost 15 pounds! I'm now wanting to maintain my weight. I get bored with diet and exercise, and need inspiration and motivation. I think SparkPeople will keep me motivated. I like this challenge; it's doable even on busy days.

Hello! I'm Gretchen and I'm new to this challenge. I really enjoyed the January Jumpstart challenge and I'm looking to keep going! I found that a well-defined program of exercise really helped me stick to it in January, so I'm hoping to keep that up into the rest of the year.

Hello everyone! I'm a new member of SP. I am about to turn 29 in two weeks and I decided that I want to reach my 30th birthday on my best shape and health. That's why I decided I will work hard this whole year to achieve my goal. Hello, my name is April and I joined Spark People a week ago. I am happy to be a part of this team because there are days when eating healthy and exercising regularly can get a little overwhelming. If you're able to exercise for just ten minutes 5 days a week, it makes it much easier to ease into a habit forming lifestyle. Thank you for forming this team.

Itís not that we will ever stop learningóitís just that we have to start using the tools in our everyday lives, as opposed to conducting an ongoing search to fix ourselves.

Hi, my name is Laura. I've been a member of SP for over a year now, although not always an active one. Just joined Spark Coach, and I think it'll be helpful! The only exercise I did yesterday was marching in place for ten minutes. Glad I did it, because it showed that even when the weather is lousy, I can do SOMETHING, rather than NOTHING.

Best wishes to everyone,
lja

Hi! I'm Joy. I take martial arts classes a few times a week, but need to squeeze regular exercise into an already jam-packed daily schedule. Miss my long walks over lunch since the cold weather set in. I discovered the exercise videos on SP and found them to be really fun! Joining a challenge for the extra push to help make DAILY exercise into a healthful habit this year.

Thanks again for the great resources, SP!

Expect problems and eat them for breakfast.

Hi!

I completed the January Jumpstart challenge yesterday, and I think I need another challenge, like this one, just to make sure I keep motivated and accountable.

After the jumpstart, 10 minutes a day should not be a problem at all. I usually do some strength training in the mornings, if I wake up before both my girls, and I do a few things that can be done at work throughout the day. If I get home in time, I work out with a toning video before I pick my girls up from daycare, and then I try to include them in going for a walk or doing an aerobics video at home.
