Hello everyone!! My name is Kristen and I am a mom to two beautiful little ones (almost 5 years and 1 month). They are my life but they keep me busy and finding time to exercise is often difficult. Hoping to get on track with exercising and be able to keep it up beyond!
Cheers!

I'm doing my exercises at home for now, but have joined the Y in our area, I'm going to visit and work with a personal trainer for a few times so that I can get in some strength training. New to all of this, just now feeling like doing something for myself for a change. So anyway my name is Rhonda, I am 53 yrs old and have had both knees replaced as of Dec. 02 of 2013. So striving to get this weight off so that when it comes time to retire, which is a long way off, I'll be able to enjoy the rest of my life.

Hi, my name is Colleen, and i live in Grand Rapids Michigan USA .. i am 58 and have been part of Sparkpeople since Jan of this year . .. i have lost a total of 70+ lbs, i am almost to my goal of "big" goal of 125 (everyone keeps telling me this is not doable for my age, but i am going to give it a good shot) .. if i can maintain where i am, which is close to 130, i will be happy happy happy, but 125 (the middle of my normal BMI) is my ultimate goal ...but i want to build more muscle, core strength, and tighten those abs (LOL) and work on balance (getting 'old, i mean, experienced)... so since i have been doing some kind of fitness everyday for a long time now, i am going to be adding strength training as one of my streaks (this will be a 3-4 times a week streak), in addition to cardio everyday,, i do about 60 -90 a day now, but will resolve to do some kind of cross training too to keep my streak of at least 10 min a day going .. so there it is .. and have a Spark'tacular day !!

Day 3 for me. I've been on Spark People before but after starting a new relationship I totally slacked, and as a result I've gained 20lbs! I'm doing this challenge to get myself back into the swing of things. I've also been working a desk job for nearly two months so my activity level has really fallen, so I'm probably in the worst shape of my life. Yikes!

Anyways, I'm 24, live in Canada, and have about 40lbs to lose. I'm always looking for new buddies so stop by and say hi!

Cheers!

This is emoticon for me, getting started on this challenge!
Tonight I'm reading the entire free mini-book [I'm half way thru, but I actually have The Spark book-its literally sitting right next to me, lol, I was already into chapter 2- reading through it again for the 2nd time] but when I saw the Spark Guy's email about the shortened mini version on The Spark- and FOR FREE- I was so thrilled!

I actually have been on sparkpeople.com for several years! I lost close to 80 lbs after reading The Spark and becoming very active on this website so I know for a fact that this program works! But like with everything in life we have to stay motivated and stick with it. Unfortunately I've again been battling some personal issues that make me stumble off my good path and healthy lifestyle.

Its the same ol' story... Stressful job, personal issues, family issues, health issues, and the dreaded return of anxiety and depression.. Not to mention a sleeping problem- sigh. Well, anyways, I lost my focus. I let myself get swallowed up by everything and now here I am with about 30 lbs to shed.

I'm not negative about this though! I'm looking at this in a positive light! For one thing, instead of 75-80 lbs to lose, all I need to lose is 25-30! Also, since I've done this I know some great strategies that really work! I mean, I use to give my spark buddies helpful tips and advice, so the knowledge is there! Last- but not least- I know what derailed me before. I know the pitfalls more painfully clear than ever before, from experience, and I will use that knowledge to help myself, my team, my spark friends/buddies as well as my family/friends to stay on track [as well as to get back on track] from now on!

I'm super excited about joining this challenge- I feel like its exactly the inspiration I needed to get me excited about my adventure, my LIFE again!

Please, stop by my spark page and add me as a spark friend! I can't wait to make new buddies and as I watch myself get into shape and reach my own goals, to also get to watch my spark friends [and anyone else possible] to reach theirs as well!!!

I've been with SP for a while. I joined way back at 252 lbs. Right now Im sitting at 191.5.
48 yo with grown kids, a supportive hubby, and four cats that were rescued when their momma died and so its never a dull moment. LOL

I joined this forum to give me that NUDGE to do SOMETHING everyday. Im normally good at exercising once I get going - but lil nudge at reminding me to get off my bottom... is always a good thing.

My goal - at least 10 min PER DAY... I'm working my way back to 187 (my all time low) and this is my first goal only. But its important to me. (note: I fell off my bicycle and jacked up my knee - knee surgery was painful - just saying) anyway....

Thanks to my current exercise - I was able to climb the small hill at the Renaisance festival yesterday with GUSTO.. several times! I wasn't even out of breath and even surprised my husband. Guess all that walking/biking mileage did help me!! (g)

Hugs from Houston!

I was a member with Spark a number of years ago and was doing well, but then I quit sparking and have also gained my weight back. This time it feels different, my husband is watching his weight too, and were both working on healthy eating habits and he has started walking with me.

I joined sparkpeople a few years ago while I was doing WW, but got super lazy with both and just stopped focusing on my weight loss. I've gained back everything I lost and then some and am finally at a place where I can make this a focus, but I won't do it by myself. I've tried and I always find a reason to skip my run, or to stay away from the pool. I'm definitely someone who does better when I have other people to hold me accountable.

Hello, Teammates,
I've been using SparkPeople for a couple of years, and I'm losing the weight. I need the accountability of a team, though, and this one will help keep me going. Even on days I'm not excited about exercising, I'll use the 10 minutes to get me started.

I want to lose weight to be healthier and be more pro-active in managing my health. I know exercising is good for me, but some days I think I'll do it tomorrow. I need to do it today.

Looking forward to success,
Madonna

After a life time of sporadic exercising and yo-yo dieting I am feeling completely overwhelmed with all of it. I really want to try and separate fitness from food and learn to enjoy it as an activity I do just for me. Being the heaviest I ever have exercise has become hard, and for the first time there are things I just can't do because of my weight and fitness level. I am hoping to use the next month to learn that it doesn't matter if I can only do 10 minutes as long as I do them.

Hi, my name is Carmen. I have been doing SparkPeople for a few months now. I decided to do the 10 min. per day challenge because I want to be consistent daily. I have been doing weight training for about six months, and have recently started swimming three days a week. I like walking, but don't always have time for it. I work nights as a home care nurse, and also care for my husband and mother who are both disabled. So finding time to just do something for me is sometimes hard.

Hi! I'm Cassie. I'm 29, but I'll be 30 at the end of the week. I have a 7 year old son and a great husband. I've been doing okay with the nutrition part of this lifestyle change, but for some reason I've quit exercising completely. Hopefully this challenge will help me change that.

Hi! I'm Sue, and I'm 68 years old and live in Portland, Maine, US. I retired in January, got rid of a ton of stress, and am gradually losing weight. I've struggled with my weight all my adult life. I already exercise regularly, so am using the daily 10-minute challenge to regularize my t'ai chi practice, which is very helpful to me but for some reason I haven't been doing regularly.

I really like the idea of only committing to 10 minutes a day.

Hi! emoticon
My name is Leanna and have been Sparking for several years but need this new challenge to keep me on track ... especially on busy days when I cannot fit in my usual hour walk. I CAN fit in 10 minutes which will keep me on track instead of feeling like I messed up and fall off the wagon, starting a binge. I am learning to not be al "All or Nothing" thinker! I am looking forward to a L-O-N-G exercise streak!

I joined, to get back on the wagon. I had lost 10 pounds but in the last few months had gained it back, because I had stopped exercising. This will help me get started again. emoticon

Hi, I have just joined this challenge, I want to get in the habit of doing strength training. I have absolutely no problem doing cardio, since I have a two years old Beagle with lots of energy who needs long walk, but that's all I do.
So starting today, my goal is to do ten minutes strength training five times a week and hope the challenge will help !

Hi there.

My Name is Kate and I am 26 years old. I have used SparkPeople before and fallen off the wagon, but recently really looked at where I am and I hate it. I recently resigned from my job in the last month to avoid being fired, and I was apathetic. I realized I had no passion for my job anymore. I was bored. Also I just had no energy or drive. If I want to be successful in my next job I need to have that, I need to love me and be willing to sell it, right now I am not.

Hi I'm Ruth and I've been learning about health and fitness since 2009, It's taken me until now to stop drinking beer, which has been a major obstacle in my losing weight. I joined Spark last year and it has been a wonderful journey. I joined Coach a few days ago and am very happy so far with the program.

I have joined the 10 day streak challenge because I've been practicing it on my own for over 30 days and wanted to interact with some folks.

My goal for this challenge is to become consistent with exercise and continue the streak until forever.

Good luck everyone. Let's keep moving!!

Hello all, I joined spark July 8, 2014. Joined this challenge today. I have lost 12 pounds so far. emoticon

I joined spark when my doctor told me that because of my weight and severe anemia, I needed to lose weight or else risk having a heart attack. I had an additional scare when they found fibroids in my uterus and cysts in and around my uterus. Luckily not cancerous, for now! emoticon

I will be 40 in November, and have a 16 year old son. I want to be around to see him graduate, go to college, get married, have kids... I also want to be a part of all of that, not just a spectator! emoticon emoticon emoticon

My husband is 10 years my senior and in far better shape than I, and I would love to get back to doing the things we used to do when I was active! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon it'd also like to make it to our emoticon , we are going to celebrate 24 next May!

Hi, I'm Vicki and I'm 58 years old. Salt has always been hard for me to cut back on but due to my husbands severely damaged heart he has to cut back to no more than 2000 grams a day and 1200 calories a day. So I'm following the same plan he's doing to make it easier on both of us. Right now our goals are to eat in a much healthier fashion and to lose 60 lbs over the next 12 months.

Hi everyone! My name is Lynsey and I am needing to get back on track... I've been on Spark for oh.... 7 years on and off. I lost a bunch of weight 2 years ago (reached my lowest weight in April 2013) and have put it all back on. I know how to do it... I've just lost the drive! So, I'm here to re-commit to a healthy lifestyle!

Hello All! I of course joined this team when I joined SparkPeople but didn't know exactly how the team thing worked or how the goals worked at the time. Somewhere along the way, I forgot or never thought about this team until today when I was looking at all of my "other goals". So I have actually done everything up to this point except post in the team.

How are all of you doing since you joined? What improvements have you made? When I started I was doing about 3000 steps/day on a good day. Now, I typically do 7000 and am going to increase my goal to 8000.

Hello there everyone. I have recently started trying to make changes to lose weight and improve my health overall. I do go to a gym and work with a trainer once a week but do not always find the time to exercise on the other days of the week. I think that this challenge might be a way to help lead me in that direction.

I'm Karen and have been with SP for almost 4 years now and lost 70 lbs, but have gained 10 or so of that back. I'm committing to 10 minutes a day to help me get back on track with exercise. Need to lose that 10 plus another 10. I love walking, just have a hard time getting my butt out the door or on the treadmill to do it! Excited about this challenge! Day 1 - 20 minute walk this morning. emoticon

Hi, I'm Susan, a 55 year old super sedentary couch blob. I like the idea of this challenge because I know I can do 10 minutes of exercise versus doing a whole workout in the shape I'm in right now. I want to be able to walk my dog at some point and I'm sure she would be happy if we could do that too.

Hello, I am new here. My name is Linda, I am 60 - 10 years young and want to stay as active as I can. I only have 1 good arm, 6 years ago I slipped on wet grass and fell landing on my left shoulder against a concrete step, and totally destroyed it. Have had 3 surgeries and now have a bionic shoulder, but only have a 5% motion. I spent 100's of hr. in PT. there was just to much nerve and muscle damage to get much motion. I haven't done the exercises that I'm suppose to do for about 3 years and need to get back at it, but they will cause me to be in considerable pain, but if I'm to keep what I have I must exercise it, and that is why I join this challenge. So I may need some encouragement.

is going to make some progress in OCT.

Hello! My name is Donna. I am so glad I found this challenge! I have got my nutrition down but I am really bad at exercising. This might sound a bit childish, but I LOVE working for the Spark Points and trophies! It makes it fun while I am making good choices for myself.

It is very important to me that I improve my health and I need to start incorporating more exercise into my daily routines. Being a part of this challenge will help me get into a routine and I am looking forward to that.

Hello,
my names Christina. i joined Sparkpeople a couple years back. When i kept going with it i lost a good amount of weight. But some family things came up and I fell off track. Well today I am starting up again. I am going to complete this challenege to get me back on track and hopefully be able to stay motivated to reach my goals and than keep me at those goals after that. My only downfall is I do not always stay on track sometimes. It is hard to stay motivated everyday, but I hope with the help from everyone here at sparkpeople as well as myself I can get to the place I wanna be at.

Hi All,

I'm a Sue too!

Been back at SparkPeople since April 19th. I'm doing well with nutrition but bad with exercising. So, today is day 1 for me. I plan to set a streak and keep on going!

Bean here, I joined this challenge to help me be consistent, I keep starting then stopping streaks and although I get further along each time I'd rather just keep going and not break it. SO I'm here to see if I can build consistency for a full month

Hi everyone! Joined Spark in July and haven't looked back. Got my spark activity tracker and am starting to get into the groove. After I exercise I feel so good and I think why haven't I been doing this for years. The motivation and inspiration I get from this sight is amazing...so thanks everyone!!!!
