Hi I am new to the challenge been real lazy on my exercise my main problem is the motivation it starts off good then I get bore easy and drop everything ..but I need to move
for health reasons. I am a mom of two wonderful active boys whom I wish to see as grown men.. tired of sitting on the side line watching them have fun want to get into it and give them memories that mom played with them..need some friends to help me out with the motivation

Hi team! I, so far, have been doing OK with my calorie intake but I know it is now time to add exercise. The 10 minute challenge seems doable and when I complete it daily not only with I be proud of myself but also start some consistency with exercise. I have been watching some of the fitness videos...getting ready, lol. Time to go!!!

They say it takes 30 days to make something into a habit so once I can make it 30 days of at least ten mins every day than I can start adding more mins.

I usually have time at home to do exercising but as soon as I step through the door I lose motivation. I am going to try and squeeze my 10 minutes in the morning as I have more energy then.

ANGELEYES: If your patient(s) nap during the day, maybe you can sneak in some exercise then--step in place, do some seated exercises (search this site for some), something simple . . . that's what I have to do some days. I am my mother's primary caregiver, so some days I can take an actual walk while someone is visiting her, but lots of days I just catch ten minutes of exercise here and there during her naps. Just a thought. Best of luck to you.

Hello,

I am new to this team and challenge...not new to Sparkpeople.

This challenge will be great for me as I am an in-home caregiver and I work sometimes 11 to 12 hours a day. I have seen my weight creep up again and I hate it. My exercise has been nill lately. Mostly I feel like if I can't workout an hour or more like my friends then why try. But I just need to start..and 10 min a day is a good way to get going. I like seeing how many days in a row I can do things...so here I go.

Today I walked 30 min but it was my one day off during the week..yup I work 6 days a week and I get tired...but that is no excuse. I need to be healthy to be able to work.

Hello Sparkers!

My name is Lauren and I have been on Sparkpeople for a few years but did not become active on the site until recently. Even though things have been pretty hectic in life I made the decision to stop ignoring my weight because life would never stop being busy! I came across the 10-minute daily exercise streak challenge while browsing the site and I thought it was a perfectly reasonable goal and look forward to sticking to it. My first day, I did a small amount of exercise (currently moving) but then I just laid on the couch like a log! I definitely look forward to chatting with some of you to learn more about your tips and tricks to keeping your goals. I am 25 and on the East Coast. In the current city I am located, most people my age are still hitting up the bars and fawning over the opposite sex. I love that I can come to Sparkpeople at the end of the day for genuine encouragement and connection for this aspect of my life.

My goal is simple: Do a minimum of 10 minutes more of exercising every day - this is in addition to the 20 minutes of cardio that I try to do, but can't quite get committed to.

This will be the second time I have tried to complete this challenge. I never made it past day 2 before. Recently in March I had triple bypass surgery and I have been making huge changes in my life due to this. Exercising is one of them. I am excited about completing this challenge.

Hello, I am new. I have a goal to lose 50. I am about 2 weeks in so far. I have been doing the 10 minutes daily +, but needed to set a minimum outside of normal. Can someone tell me if the program will automatically track?. Otherwise I will need to figure out how to track.

I'm Kayleigh, 28, married, have three kids. In January 2014 after my youngest was born I suffered multiple pulmonary embolisms. Last week I lost my job. I am tired of being depressed, morbidly obese, and feeling awful. It's time for a change. I weigh 377 currently and am 5'7".

Kayleigh - happily married, "crunchy" mama to three boys, amateur storm chaser, photographer, and a woman with a LOT of weight to lose.

Excited to be joining this challenge!!! I'm an energetic 56-year-old, joined sparkpeople little over a year ago. Have been losing consistently, slowing, the right way. Need to continue on my journey, and hoping to kick-start my metabolism. I've already tweaked my eating as much as I can, and I exercise intensely 5-days a week already (spinning classes), but maybe adding a challenge into my routine will "spark" me on to more weight lose. Hoping to make some friends along the way! emoticon

I am 53, married for 33 yrs , have two grown children and 1 and 1/5 grand children ( 2nd one is due in July!). Work full -time as an Administrative Assistant. I will have 35 years in the system this fall. - hoping to retire Fall of 2015. At my all time high and joining the Spark to change the lifestyle and get healthier. Would like to be able to play with my grandchildren and actively enjoy retirement!

Hi I'm Kim and I'm 37 yrs old (turning 38 soon, in July). I have started and stopped exercise so many different times. If one little things interrupts my workout routine, I'm done...for a long time. I'm hoping to gain some inspiration & motivation to get moving every single day and 10 minutes, 5 times a week sounds like a great way to start.

Hi. I'm Barb, age 61, rejoining SparkPeople, with SparkCoach this time. Is just walking enough to join this challenge? I know that I can't push too hard, too fast, and even walking briskly isn't right for me yet. I anticipate doing more as I become stronger. I need encouragement to do 'something' consistently though, rather than just: when I feel like it, or the weather's good, or I have no pain, or my girls walk with me or...
