Hi, I'm Vicki and I'm 58 years old. Salt has always been hard for me to cut back on but due to my husbands severely damaged heart he has to cut back to no more than 2000 grams a day and 1200 calories a day. So I'm following the same plan he's doing to make it easier on both of us. Right now our goals are to eat in a much healthier fashion and to lose 60 lbs over the next 12 months.

My last 2 blogs will explain more

Hi everyone! My name is Lynsey and I am needing to get back on track... I've been on Spark for oh.... 7 years on and off. I lost a bunch of weight 2 years ago (reached my lowest weight in April 2013) and have put it all back on. I know how to do it... I've just lost the drive! So, I'm here to re-commit to a healthy lifestyle!

Hello All! I of course joined this team when I joined SparkPeople but didn't know exactly how the team thing worked or how the goals worked at the time. Somewhere along the way, I forgot or never thought about this team until today when I was looking at all of my "other goals". So I have actually done everything up to this point except post in the team.

How are all of you doing since you joined? What improvements have you made? When I started I was doing about 3000 steps/day on a good day. Now, I typically do 7000 and am going to increase my goal to 8000.

Join me to succeed in life. teams.sparkpeople.com/SucceedInLife

Hello there everyone. I have recently started trying to make changes to lose weight and improve my health overall. I do go to a gym and work with a trainer once a week but do not always find the time to exercise on the other days of the week. I think that this challenge might be a way to help lead me in that direction.

Psylon5 checking in! I did this challenge about 2 years ago and loved it! I'm currently using the Zombies, Run! app for about 4 months now. Motivation is starting to fade after 2 weeks off due to work and illness - time to get back on track!

I'm Karen and have been with SP for almost 4 years now and lost 70 lbs, but have gained 10 or so of that back. I'm committing to 10 minutes a day to help me get back on track with exercise. Need to lose that 10 plus another 10. I love walking, just have a hard time getting my butt out the door or on the treadmill to do it! Excited about this challenge! Day 1 - 20 minute walk this morning. emoticon

I am new to this, however I am looking for encouragement from others to help spur me on as I need to be accountable to improve my overall health and lose 100 pounds. I know it will take some time but this seemed like a good way to start.

Hi, I'm Susan, a 55 year old super sedentary couch blob. I like the idea of this challenge because I know I can do 10 minutes of exercise versus doing a whole workout in the shape I'm in right now. I want to be able to walk my dog at some point and I'm sure she would be happy if we could do that too.

Hello, I am new here. My name is Linda, I am 60 - 10 years young and want to stay as active as I can. I only have 1 good arm, 6 years ago I slipped on wet grass and fell landing on my left shoulder against a concrete step, and totally destroyed it. Have had 3 surgeries and now have a bionic shoulder, but only have a 5% motion. I spent 100's of hr. in PT. there was just to much nerve and muscle damage to get much motion. I haven't done the exercises that I'm suppose to do for about 3 years and need to get back at it, but they will cause me to be in considerable pain, but if I'm to keep what I have I must exercise it, and that is why I join this challenge. So I may need some encouragement.

is going to lose some weight in Sept., even if it is just a pound. Ten pounds at a time.

Hello! My name is Donna. I am so glad I found this challenge! I have got my nutrition down but I am really bad at exercising. This might sound a bit childish, but I LOVE working for the Spark Points and trophies! It makes it fun while I am making good choices for myself.

It is very important to me that I improve my health and I need to start incorporating more exercise into my daily routines. Being a part of this challenge will help me get into a routine and I am looking forward to that.

Hello,
my names Christina. i joined Sparkpeople a couple years back. When i kept going with it i lost a good amount of weight. But some family things came up and I fell off track. Well today I am starting up again. I am going to complete this challenege to get me back on track and hopefully be able to stay motivated to reach my goals and than keep me at those goals after that. My only downfall is I do not always stay on track sometimes. It is hard to stay motivated everyday, but I hope with the help from everyone here at sparkpeople as well as myself I can get to the place I wanna be at.

Bean here, I joined this challenge to help me be consistent, I keep starting then stopping streaks and although I get further along each time I'd rather just keep going and not break it. SO I'm here to see if I can build consistency for a full month

I got want to do it and do this for me. My mind is in battle and my body is at war. I'm in battle with myself and if I can over come myself than I can over come it all and do it one day at a time, let it go and get one step closer to my goal.

Hi! I'm Laura. I'm joining the team because I've noticed that I tend to slack off on the weekends instead of getting up and moving like I should. I'm trying to start a healthy lifestyle that I can use to lead my future family by example. I'm looking forward to starting a healthy habit of exercising every day.

Hello everyone! My name is Marie, I'm 35 years old and my goal is to get down to a healthier weight and build some muscle. My problem is first getting the motivation to work out and then the even bigger problem is keeping that motivation.

The things you want are just outside of your comfort zone. Break through and break through often!

Hello all!
I'm new to this team and lost my recent momentum...the 10 minute challenges will be doable even for me.
I had a heart attack in June, did well for two weeks after coming home and then fell into old patterns of behavior that keep me stuck. I'm ready to use the "glue remover" and get back on track.
Today is a great day to start over!

Lord, please empty me of self will, and fill me with Your spirit.

Hi team! I, so far, have been doing OK with my calorie intake but I know it is now time to add exercise. The 10 minute challenge seems doable and when I complete it daily not only with I be proud of myself but also start some consistency with exercise. I have been watching some of the fitness videos...getting ready, lol. Time to go!!!

Hi! My name is Yvette. I joined this challenge to get back into the habit of exercising. I started exercising about 3 months ago and did really well for about 6 weeks but then I got sick, then I went out of town and my resolve just got up and left! I want it back! I figure by doing this challenge it will help me to commit to getting going again!

I joined this challenge to get into the habit of making a small amount of time for exercise every day. Once completed, I hope to be able to 'expand' on that time frame until I am doing 30 minutes each day and not having any problem 'making time' for it.

Hi,
I'm 39, a single mom of an 11 year old daughter, and a flight attendant. I'm ready to start taking better care of myself and make healthy lifestyle changes. I joined sparkpeople a while back and started then stopped. I'm back and ready to make some positive changes for myself as well as my daughter. I joined this challenge to start small and build up to achieving my goal of losing 50 pounds.

I joined this challenge to try to get in the habit of exercising regularly and to set my first goal that is actually reachable in the near future. They say it takes 30 days to make something into a habit so once I can make it 30 days of at least ten mins every day than I can start adding more mins.

Sandy here :).

I usually have time at home to do exercising but as soon as I step through the door I lose motivation. I am going to try and squeeze my 10 minutes in the morning as I have more energy then.

Call me Sandy. My goals are reaching and maintaining 120 pounds, running a 5K race and performing 48 push-ups in a minute.

ANGELEYES: If your patient(s) nap during the day, maybe you can sneak in some exercise then--step in place, do some seated exercises (search this site for some), something simple . . . that's what I have to do some days. I am my mother's primary caregiver, so some days I can take an actual walk while someone is visiting her, but lots of days I just catch ten minutes of exercise here and there during her naps. Hello,

I am new to this team and challenge...not new to Sparkpeople.

This challenge will be great for me as I am an in-home caregiver and I work sometimes 11 to 12 hours a day. I have seen my weight creep up again and I hate it. My exercise has been nill lately. Mostly I feel like if I can't workout an hour or more like my friends then why try. But I just need to start..and 10 min a day is a good way to get going. I like seeing how many days in a row I can do things...so here I go.

Today I walked 30 min but it was my one day off during the week..yup I work 6 days a week and I get tired...but that is no excuse. I need to be healthy to be able to work.

Thank you listening.

Hello Sparkers!

My name is Lauren and I have been on Sparkpeople for a few years but did not become active on the site until recently. Even though things have been pretty hectic in life I made the decision to stop ignoring my weight because life would never stop being busy! I came across the 10-minute daily exercise streak challenge while browsing the site and I thought it was a perfectly reasonable goal and look forward to sticking to it. My first day, I did a small amount of exercise (currently moving) but then I just laid on the couch like a log! I definitely look forward to chatting with some of you to learn more about your tips and tricks to keeping your goals. I am 25 and on the East Coast. In the current city I am located, most people my age are still hitting up the bars and fawning over the opposite sex. I love that I can come to Sparkpeople at the end of the day for genuine encouragement and connection for this aspect of my life.

Happy Sparking!

Hi my name is Michelle. I joined this team because I want to make daily focused exercise a habit. I am trying to get more steps in my day in general, but I also want to do some type of daily exercise as well. This team is just what I need to get going!

~~ Michelle ~~

Don't waste your time with "could've," "would've" or "should've." Focus on "can," "will," and "do."

Time will pass no matter what .... will I be closer to or farther from my goals

It’s not that some people have willpower and some don’t. It’s that some people are ready to change and others are not. Finally, I am ready to change!
