I'm Kristen. I turn 30 in August. February 9, 2015 I quit smoking cigarettes for good. I gained 20+ lbs. in a very short period of time and didn't care for myweight before I quit smoking. I joined Spark People on May 11,2015 and have lost 13.5 lbs since then. Slowly and steadily I have came into my healthy new lifestyle. My goal is to lose 20 lbs. by my 30th birthday and 35-45 lbs. overall with no set goal date.

Hi everybody, I started 3 weeks ago and lost 3 pounds so far, and am very happy about that. It's been very hard to get back in the saddle and stick to a meal plan, but Sparkpeople has been a great help. Not just saying that; I belonged to another website that just never really helped me or worked, but this one does, so I am very happy to be here. I love all the articles and helpful information I've found here. The trackers are all user-friendly and accessible and that is very helpful, too.

I enjoy outdoor exercise and like to walk and ride a bike; in fact, riding is my means of transportation. I like to walk in the evenings to unwind and enjoy being outdoors.

Hi I "joined" spark people in 2006. However I did not start using the tools until 2013 where for the first time in life I was able to loose weight. I actually joined the team in 2013 however I feel I need even more accountability now after the weight loss (maintenance) than when I was loosing. (in part because of life changes) I have been more active on the site now and am grateful for the team...best to all...Cheers!

Just joined. . . for accountability and to have something reasonable to add to my days - 10 minutes should be reasonable . . . even if it's a 10 minute dance party with my daughter (Which is also super fun). I will be starting after work this evening. I've also been down this road many times, but this is the heaviest - and worse, most unhealthy I've ever been. I need this!

For the past month I've been counting on my more active job to help me with fitness, but I realize I really need to make daily exercise a habit. So this looks like the perfect place to start! I have over 100 pounds to lose but I'm ready and willing to take this slowly and work at it. 10 minutes a day is the perfect place to start!

I just joined this group today. I have used Spark People in the past but had forgotten all about it. I was at a weight loss stand-still and saw Spark People when I was searching for something online. I signed back up and have lost 6 pounds in the last couple weeks. Just seeing how many calories I was REALLY eating by tracking made all the difference.

my goal is 10 pounds by Christmas 2015- my action steps are (A) this challenge & (B) 12-1650 caloric budget.... today I break open with doing a seated exercise video! I didn't even know that was legit exercise! yea! I didn't know ten minutes counted until I joined up. this challenge is godsent.

Hi I'm Michelle. I have been on SP for almost 100 days. I have gotten a good handle on the healthy eating portion but am still struggling to exercise daily. I joined the group to try and motivate me - 10 minutes a day seems like a very doable goal. Even I with my busy schedule can fit in 10 minutes... :)

I'm a little confused as to how to work this page! I'm a newbie and am just now learning the ins and outs of the site. I want to be involved as I live in Northern Thailand and the guys on Sparkpeople will be my supporters! Day five for me. Still feeling a bit unsure, but knowing things will gradually change. Right? The challenge for me is to do at least 10 minutes of exercise per day.

This challenge looks like fun! I have been wanting to increase my fitness minutes and being held accountable will help me do that! My plan is to add 10 minutes to what ever workout I have planned for the day! Yesterday I went on a hike through our woods and made certain I added those 10 minutes before I returned home...even though the black flies were out and hungry!

I'm a 73 yr. old retiree. I ordered the Activity Tracker to follow my exploits in NJ. Losing 20 pounds is my goal. I've begun the 10+ challenge and walked the past 5 days. Although yesterday was a romp in the park with my 3 yr old granddaughter. Tougher than a 1 mile walk.

My name is Barb - have been a member of SparkPeople for a few years, but have never really taken it serious. Am still at the same weight as when i started - in the 200 neighborhood. Not sure now - my bathroom scales is not working.

My daughter has started losing weight and is looking fantastic !! And she is so much happier. So I am feeling really challenged. I have joined other challenges in the past, but soon drop out - just have not had the motivation to continue. I do not have very much support around me - but know that I can certainly find it here on SparkPeople - if i will just take advantage of all the opportunities here!!

So I am in - decided that keeping a journal may help most. Will see how it goes.

Hi all. I'm new here, though I've been using sparkpeople off and on for several years now. My motivation to lose weight is that my health is now compromised by all of the unwise choices I've made over the last 16 years and I am finally scared. Hi I am new to this team been sparking since 2008 but have been up and down. The last year I have maintained the same weight but that is not good enough I still have 70 lbs. to lose. My mindset has been stuck on at least I'm not gaining need to get that thought out of my head and move on to I have to lose at least 1 lb. a week. I would like to lose 25 lbs. by the end of the year. Hopefully this team will help me to get 10 minutes in on the days I don't walk the dogs or get to the pool. Those days are hard for me to do exercise I just don't think about doing anything else. I love a challenge and they keep me motivated so this team will be good for me.

I live in Cambridge Ontario Canada it is about 1 hour from downtown Toronto. Teri

Hey, y'all! I'm Gerrtie.

I joined the team April 5. I reached my goal weight in Dec. 2009. I have managed to keep almost all of it off. But since I went back to work 15 lbs have crept back on, and I have slacked off of my exercise quite a bit. I am hoping to get back on track with both the food and the exercise. No more saying "I don't have time."

Hello everyone. My name is Megan I'm from southwestern Pennsylvania. I have a wonderful husband and 2 beautiful kids that are my world. I am starting my weight loss journey once again. I can't tell you how many times I've started this journey. I keep losing my way and getting farther than when i started. I am currently at the biggest I have ever been, but I'm feeling confident because I've had some medical problems that make this harder that I've been getting situated, such as my thyroid. This is going to be the successful journey, and I'm never coming back!

Hi Everyone,

My name is Karen, I love Spark People, right now I am in between BLC rounds and I thought this would be a nice challenge until next BLC round begins.

May I suggest to anyone who reads this if you are interested in a fun team challenge check out the BLC (Biggest Loser Challenge) It really helps me stay motivated and keeps me focused. It is a 12 week challenge and there is a lot of friendly competition between teams.

Hi Team
my name is James im a Texan here born and raised
I want to live a healthier life I have a gut on me and I wanting to lose it (spare tire)
I know I can do this I have joined other teams here on sparkpeople and I am feeling great from the motivators that have given me support here already.......
