I'm new to Spark People and so far I'm loving all the options! My Sister, Carolyne, and my niece, are members and have encouraged me to join. I have at least 50# to lose and need some encouragement. I was diagnosed with Fibro in 2000 after my hysterectomy and sometimes have a hard time living with the effects. Basically I'm a very upbeat person - the meds help. Have a couple of big stressors in my life so that doesn't help the Fibro. I would like to join a team and this seems like a good fit for me. Please let me know who's out there!

Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But you don't have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too! LOL
Welcome to the team. I can well understand what you are going through with problems of motivation. I've been fighting a flareup for the last couple of weeks. This time, it's the total lack of energy that is bothering me right now. That really can kill any motivation! What has helped me getting back on track is the daily encouragement from members of this team and other teams that I'm on. Hang in there girl. You CAN do this.

I also suffer with FIBRO and RA and so many other health problems. I never say I CAN'T because it is so much better to say I CAN...lol. The best you can do for yourself is do a little at a time you do not have to exercise for an hour none stop...one step at a time does it. I started walking 10 min. then added 5 more each day until I could walk for one hour at a time. I felt so much better and slept well, but most of all I lost 50 pounds doing so.

Been an SP member since the beginning; not new to SP but am new to this team.
I'm 55 YO; have fibromyalgia plus other issues that aggravate it. Really sucks the motivation to exercise right out of me. I'm not getting any younger and really REALLY want to lose my 80 lbs. I just cannot stay motivated.
When my dog couldn't look at me without gagging, I knew it was time to lose weight.
