I agree! I'm at my Dad's now for awhile and he has a treadmill so I'm trying to take advantage of that. Most days it's too cold to walk outside here in IL.

Getting any exercise is very hard for me too. I want to more often than I'm able. But I count every 5 minutes I'm on my feet as better than flat or sitting.

My biggest problem is that I don't track my foods. I know if I did this I would do so much better! I'm going to try to take time to track every day. Thanks for your encouragement!

Welcome Georgia, I hope this group can give you some motivation to lose that weight. It won't cure the fibro but it will make other aspects of your life so much better.

Good luck!

I'm new to Spark People and so far I'm loving all the options! My Sister, Carolyne, and my niece, are members and have encouraged me to join. I have at least 50# to lose and need some encouragement. I was diagnosed with Fibro in 2000 after my hysterectomy and sometimes have a hard time living with the effects. Basically I'm a very upbeat person - the meds help. Have a couple of big stressors in my life so that doesn't help the Fibro. I would like to join a team and this seems like a good fit for me. Please let me know who's out there!

Welcome to the team. I can well understand what you are going through with problems of motivation. I've been fighting a flareup for the last couple of weeks. This time, it's the total lack of energy that is bothering me right now. That really can kill any motivation! What has helped me getting back on track is the daily encouragement from members of this team and other teams that I'm on. Hang in there girl. You CAN do this.

Hugs, Linda

emoticon and emoticon to the team.

I also suffer with FIBRO and RA and so many other health problems. I never say I CAN'T because it is so much better to say I CAN...lol.
The best you can do for yourself is do a little at a time you do not have to exercise for an hour none stop...one step at a time does it. I started walking 10 min. then added 5 more each day until I could walk for one hour at a time. I felt so much better and slept well, but most of all I lost 50 pounds doing so.

Welcome to the team. emoticon

The best way I've found to get motivated is to get all my SparkPoints for the day. It keeps me thinking about being/getting healthy and makes it easier to stay on track when I'm faced with temptation.

HTH and again, welcome!

Been an SP member since the beginning; not new to SP but am new to this team.

I'm 55 YO; have fibromyalgia plus other issues that aggravate it. Really sucks the motivation to exercise right out of me. I'm not getting any younger and really REALLY want to lose my 80 lbs. I just cannot stay motivated.

When my dog couldn't look at me without gagging, I knew it was time to lose weight.
