I don't know what meds you are on that are making you gain weight, possibly Neurontin or Lyrica. I couldn't take either one. I'm successfully taking Topamax, and one of its side effects is that it suppresses the appetite. I've been able to lose weight on it when my thyroid numbers are good. Topamax is an anti-seizure drug that helps lessen the exagerrated pain message that your nerves send to your brain.

Hello Everyone, My name is Margie and I'm 47 yrs old with 7 children and 3 grandchildren. Newly diagnosed with Fibro and major weight gain since June due many medical issues including being placed on life support for 9 days in June. I woke up on July 4th! I spent the majority of the first 6 months of this year in bed feeling sorry for myself and in severe pain. All I did was get sicker. Once I was placed on life support my family started planning my death. Thank God he had other plans for me. I am in daily pain and refuse to give in. I'm fighting to take back control of my body and life. The meds side effect is "weight gain" WONDERFUL! The meds help take the edge off but still have mild to severe pain. Along with high BP, Asthma/COPD and other things.
I'm hoping to meet someone where we can help each other stay motivated, accountable and get healthy together. My worst issue is that I do tend to loose motivation and want to give up. So I have to try really hard to keep myself motivated. This is not a temp diet plan for me but an all out life change. I eat healthy and avoid fast foods or prepackaged meals of any type. I eat allot of fruits, veggies, fish and 4-5 32 oz bottles a day.
