Thanks for the good wishes. The wedding was a whole weekend of activity and fun and meeting the in-laws (nice people!) and we finally have a daughter. It took me most of the following week to recover from the wedding, just in time to spend all of Sunday on a boat going whale watching. Yikes. I should know better.

It'll take me another week or more to recover from that. It was worth it, although I'm not sure I'll do an entire day on the ocean again. The seas were very rough on the trip out, and my hands and the rest of me is worn out and very sore from hanging onto rails and whatever else was handy to keep from being knocked down.

I'll get through this week, although I admit I was downright cranky at work yesterday. Early bedtimes, healthy diet, lots of water, and pain meds. I will manage, although I wish I could just stay home and crawl into bed for a day. I am thankful my kids are grown and on their own and I don't have to manage small children when I get home from work. September is just busy for me. Hoping October settles down. I need the rest.

gentle hugs,
Beth.

"The real secret of success is enthusiasm..." thanks, Walter P. Chrysler. I believe it. That's what I want in my life--to give my imagination a chance, to live with energy and enthusiasm!

Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But you don't have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too! LOL

Life comes in specific increments, which we receive as a gift of one moment at a time. That's why it's called

Hi. I'm new here, but have been on Spark since April 20. I have fibro and osteoarthritis and degenerating spinal discs. How long? Forever, I think. I try to manage my life so I can function, but find I do feel better when I am not working. I'm hoping to retire in about 4 years. Something to look forward to! I work part time and have a part time job as an independent contractor, so my schedule is somewhat variable. That allows me occasional downtime, to recover from the uptime. However, September/October/November is crazy busy for me. If I can just make it to winter break...
I've managed some weight loss (yay!) but it's slow going since I can't do vigorous exercise. I tried a pilates/yoga class, and plan to sign up for it again when it starts up again next month. With modifications, I can do most of the class.
Our son is getting married tomorrow, so my life has been just a bit stressful lately. (ya think??) I'm hoping my current flare will fade after the wedding and life settles down to whatever passes for normal in my life.
I'm happy to find the fibro board here!
--Beth.
