Fibro is a tricky little beast... and SNEAKY! LOL
You are certainly in the right place for plenty of empathy and encouragement! We have a GREAT team of people, as well as some terrific tools for weight management--a tough one for anyone but so much harder when you have to deal with a chronic health condition.
Hang in there, and keep participating! Even with the pain, life is WAY to short to waste!
You're in a good place here--you're not alone!
Welcome to the "family"!
"The real secret of success is enthusiasm..." Walter P. Chrysler said it, I believe it. That's what I want in my life--to give my imagination a chance, to live with energy and enthusiasm!
Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But you don't have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too! LOL
Life comes in specific increments, which we receive as a gift of one moment at a time. That's why it's called t
Every one here is very helpful. I have been able to keep off the weight I lost .
Hi and welcome..You have come to the right place. This is a very caring and supportive team. I can relate to your pain and difficulties. I hope you will come to the team often and let us get to know you better. We all have similar stories to tell.
I have had fibro since the earlier ninety's. Did not want to accept it though so I was living a state of denial. I had a really bad flare in the last six months and I seem to be in a downward spiral ever since.. I am on lots of meds, and keep thinking that if I could lose this extra weight I would feel better.
Where there is no struggle, there is no strength.
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia back in 95 and apart from some short lived flare ups have remained in control of this condition, with limited medication
that was until Feb 2011 when I began to gain weight and had nasty chest pains... heart screening clear, thankfully ... buy january this year I was on sick leave from work due to pain and I was struggling to walk, the pain was indescribable ... I am now back at work but weaker than before and not able to manage pain successfully
I kept saying to the doc thyroid, thyroid, thyroid and at last a test was done (I had at this point gained 40lb in 8 weeks) (total weight gain 47lb in 9 1/2 weeks)the result came back nasty with a TSH of 10.9 (normal 0.3-3) but even tho the thyroid seems to be settling the FM is having a lovely time....my pain levels are high to off the scale....
I feel that if I can just lose 30lb I will begin to feel better BUT the weight does not want to shift .... not a bit
